Are people in a America really as racist as the media makes out?

I've been bought up a very multi cultural city in the UK and I've never gotten my head around racism, I just makes no logical sense to me why should you hate someone for there culture/skin colour or any of that. Everyone is different and you can't just generalise a significant group of people based on these things.

Everyone is so different in this world yet were all the same. Were all hi trying to make a way through life. If someone's a dick there a dick has nothing to do with race or religion etc.

My 3 of childhood best friends were mixed heritage. We never felt like we had to tip toe around being PC with each other. I knew they were different from me in there heritage to me but I still liked them for them.

It's actually very common in the UK and some other parts of Europe to see friendship groups of all different races.

I've even moved to a more white area due to my work and I still make the same effect to talk to my black/Asian co workers as much as I would with my white and I've learned a lot of my friends of didn't ethnicity actually hate when white people think they have to step on eye shells around them. I had one guy I used to work with and he was black and we used to joke but he was dad because we got on so well.

I just do not understand it and I will probably never. I know my country isn't perfect when it comes to certain things including immigration but I do love it for the fact but we have so many different cultures and we are open with sharing them with one another.

Yes. It's a very racist country.

My race usually say racist things without sugar coating it and usually act like it ain't racist.

White people towards us will veil it in fake compliments or as fake data driven
statements that are usually very inaccurate.

"Wow you are pretty for a black girl"

" you speak well for a black person"

When a white person riots over sports and sets things on fire it's all in fun.

When black people riot its bunch of thugs.

When a white person murders a black person it's always somehow the black person fault. When roles reversed its automatically thug criminal killing a white person.

School shootings the system failed the white kid who went on a murdering spree.

Black person murdered by the cops "that what he gets."

The media constantly paints us a criminals and uneducated.

400 years of violence by white people to black people.
Several times we had a black owned city running smoothly and white people murdered the entire town and claimed it for their own.

Many of thesw incidents happen less than 70 years ago.

Just 20 years ago laws ended that made us 2nd class citizens.

The history of America is full of horrific racial violence that has been covered up and hidden from history books to make white people ignorant to racial crimes committed against black people.

This is why all the white people on here are like not racist at all.

I educated myself on real history and it show how racist it is and yes it still is just not as openly racist.

No, not at all. I've lived in America my whole life, visited many different places (inclduing the places they claim are especially racist), and only met someone who openly said something racist once, and it was a young kid who I think was trying to be edgy.

The media here in America, unfortunately, monetizes hate and fear, so "racism is everywhere!" is very profitable. It's also a reason to vote for a certain political party, because they'll "fix it and get rid of all those racists!" even though they've had the presidency many times in recent history and the "threat of racism" doesn't seem to be any less of a threat, according to them. But that being said, nearly all of our news outlets and journalists happen to be affiliated with that party, and they have several incentives to fan the flames of "racism."

There's also social pressure, which influences business/institution viability, where if you even question the quantity of racism, you're seen as a racist sympathizer, and you must be a racist, too. And yes, they WILL call you a racist for questioning it, which then plays into their "racists are everywhere" narrative. And speaking of which, they're adamantly trying to dilute what it actually means to be racist.

Depends which American people. The media has a tendency to depict American Republicans as “racist rednecks” but in reality the American Democrats are far more racist than the American Republicans are.

I think that government officials and entertainment media types are more racist than the average person you're going to meet in the US. Our current resident has said some truly awful things about minorities, such as but by no means limited to keeping his white children separate from them in schools and other settings. The cultural narrative seems to have shifted from racial minorities to sexual minorities as the primary victim group now, since America isn't actually as racist as the new world order powers that be try to make us seem, and try to stir up conflict between. No matter how hard the system pushed in the last decade or so to force Lenin's dream of a race war to usher in a communist revolution, the American people as a united front would not give in to the hate we are so frequently accused of because that accusation is a lie whipped up by race-baiting social unrest profiteers.

That depends on what part of America you are in. The U. S. is about 74 times bigger than England. I've met plenty of foreigners that say there are much more racist countries. Some countries might be less racist now, but not many. In the past, every country was racist. No matter where you go or what race you are, you're going to not be liked by some people if you're not the same race as all the people surrounding you. If the US was so racist, why do people from all over the world still want to move here and not somewhere else supposedly less racist? Because those other places aren't really less racist unless they are populated by your own race.

There are racists in the US who claim they are for civil rights. Anyone who supports BLM would be one of them. They’re the most racist group in America. That's another thing I don't get how can you stop racism by just being racist to another race that's not helping anything. it's more likely to bring more hate. the people who thought for civil rights in the past would be rolling in there graves if they could black and white still hating on each other today. I especially think white blm members are the most racist they just see black people as there little victims and wanna be there white saviour because they think they can't speak for themselves. When the protest were happening in the US I saw mainly white people rioting and trashing shops and black people were actually telling them to stop because it was making the cause look bad and they were actually trashing black businesses and neighborhoods

As a black guy, I can say that I've encountered more blatant racism from my own race than I have white people. But with most racism, & especially with white people, it's usually more subtle racism. Ones that you feel the effects of more than you can spot real-time.

Oh and it's definitely true that there's more blatant racism in the south.

It is mostly racism directed against Whites. there are racist laws here that discriminate against Whites. The media constantly blames White people for things that aren't their fault. No, the democrat base derives much of their power through dividing the country into different groups and treating all these groups as special. This causes resentment between these groups because everyone is supposed to be treated the same. When people complain, the media portrays them as racist.

Racism is something that is in the past of westerners. Even now, there are many Nazi supporters in Germany. In America, there was the Ku Klux Klan sect, I don't know how they are now, but they committed great crimes against Blacks and other immigrants in the past.
