Why is the US the only country with an embargo against Cuba? Why do other countries oppose the US embargo and continue trading with Cuba?

So other countries claim to care about Democracy and human rights and all this other stuff and yet here they are doing business as usual with Cuba.

And its been shown that tourism from Europe is a big part of what keeps the Cuban economy afloat.

Not to mention that the EU is also one of Cuba’s largest trading partners.

The only reason the US embargo hasn’t been working is because other countries continue doing business with Cuba.

And so it makes me wonder why for the past 29 years straight countries have been condemning us even though Cuba doesn’t even have free elections or free press for that matter.

That ALL would have been eliminated IF... IF Jack Kennedy followed through on what Eisenhower had set up prior to Kennedy being elected. Eisenhower had it it all planned for the US to GREATLY assist the Cuban resistance during the Bay of Pigs events in Feb 1961. Instead of assisting the resistance group with naval firepower, the US didn't even show up, leaving these people to suffer at the hands of Fidel Castro.

To put it bluntly, Kennedy F'd them over in a major way, allowing Communism to thrive in the western hemisphere. Had Kennedy provided the military help, that probably would have ended a Communist Cuba AND the Cuban missile crisis wouldn't have happened either, a couple years later.

Cubans hate their Communist Gov't. They simply wanted "some" help in overthrowing it. Honestly, I don't understand WHY so many Cubans still trust the US and want to live here. But those that do, most of them hate Democrats because that's what Democrats are insisting on doing to the US - turning it into a large-sized Cuba.

Cuba is only 90 miles away from the coast of Florida. It is an ideal place for a communist power to have a missile launch site. The US wants to transform Cuba from a communist country to a democracy.
