"Healthcare" prolongs life; abortion ends life. Do not confuse these two concepts.
There may be some lunatic fringe elements that would want to ban contraception but that is not a mianstream idea for conservatives. You can repeat it a hundred times, but it is NOT a mainstream idea for conservatives.
Most people see a qualitative difference between birth control and morning after pills. if you don't see it, that doesn't mean the rest of us are blind.
"I don't know how a 11 year old is going to teach a baby how to be productive when she dies in child birth." This is just an example of the catarophizing and the parade of horribles that the far left always uses to try to shape public policy.
Criminalizing out-of-state travel for the purpose of obtaining an abortion would be unconstitutional.
If there is, in fact, a concrete proposal in Louisiana, how does it penalize people for miscarrriages?
None of these ideas about which you rail have become a law. There are people on the far left who have equally daft lunatic ideas. I would not cast a net over all Democrats for the ideas coming from the Squad! But it seems that you are just looking for an opportunity to demonize those with whom you disagree.
Why don't you threaten to hold your breath until you turn blue?
@OlderAndWiser Lol. I'm pretty sure she's already "Blue."
@Jamie05rhs :) :) :)
Yep and prolonging the life of an already established person is far more important than a thing with 0 brain activity. Which by the way end of life health care is a thing that doesn't prolong life but just makes it more comfortable until you naturally die.
"Yep and prolonging the life of an already established person is far more important than a thing with 0 brain activity."
Very few abortions save the life of the mother. You are using statistically improbably events to make policy for everyone; that is a customary tactic of those on the far left. But you have't called me names yet; is that next?
If you feel comfortable referring to an unborn baby as "a thing with 0 brain activity," then the problem is obvious. You have no compassion for anyone and want your life to be comfortable and covenient regadless of how that impacts others.
"Which by the way end of life health care is a thing that doesn't prolong life but just makes it more comfortable until you naturally die." It also doesn't hasten the death of the patient.
Many abortions save the life of the mother. Doesn't have to be medically. It can be psychological or financial. It's fact that fetuses have very little to no brain activity. The nervous system is not functional until 6 months.
And yes it does. We "pull the plug" on brain dead patients. Euthanasia is legal in many places.
You have no idea what you are saying ad are simply making up "facts" to support your position. I'm not interested in hearing any more from you.
Would also like to mention that 1 in 100 pregnancies are ectopic. So "Very few abortions save the life of the mother" is incorrect.
Oop actually 1 in 50 in the united states
1. You are still talking about a small percentage and I've never heard anyone suggest that abortions should not be performed to save the life of the mother, particularly when it is not a viable pregnancy.
2. You are engaging in more of the nonsense that led me to earler say "I'm not interested in hearing any more from you." Do you not know what that means or do you think you have the right to make me listen when I don't want to hear from you any more?
Yes, if some states want to ban abortion, they should be able to, if others want to allow it up until the third trimester, they should be allowed to as well. I fail to see the big deal, different regions have different values. When I was a teenager girls would take trips to other states to get abortions where parental consent wasn't required.
Some states will try for full bans, some will restrict to first trimester, some will go the opposite direction allowing everything until the cord is cut on taxpayer dollars. What's the big deal when everyone gets what they want? In the red states where clinics were bombed in the 90's, it won't happen anymore, in blue states where they wish to push further, they'll be able to.
People grow up, and move to different places with different values because it reflects what is important to them to begin with... Anyway, no state would block contraceptives as both the young and married couples wouldn't vote for them. Insurance would still cover it anyway. No taxpayer funded contraceptives or STD tests in my state for about 2 decades now, we're broke, and no one cares. The Louisiana law wouldn't be enforced though, our murder rate is insane, and the solve rate is like 5% or something. It's just a pony show there to drum up support, no lives matter here.
"different regions have different values. " This doesn't matter at all. We have separation of church and state. Religious opinions cannot influence laws.
Values can be related to beliefs but don't have to be. Like I don't personally care one way or another about abortion, women I've had sex with while not using protection I've wanted kids with or used a fake name. In my personal life it truly does not matter if it is legal or illegal.
Lots of people seem to get really pissed off about it, to the point of violence, so I figure let them have their abortion free and free abortion zones. What relation does that have with religion?
It doesn't but they sure like to use god as a reason. If abortion becomes illegal in these states and in some illegal to leave the state for an abortion, that is forced birth. Not everyone can just up and move their entire lives to a blue state. So it means more people will die at the hands of law makers. Making abortions illegal only makes safe abortions illegal. Talk to any woman who lived through the 70s/80s where women were having back alley abortions and dying from sepsis, bleeding out etc.
You're being dramatic. Abortions cost money here right now. If another state had state funded abortions, the greyhound ticket would be cheaper. It's like California has strict firearm laws, but you can just buy them in Nevada. You don't have to move or cry about it. Just play with how the hand you have.
I mean, it's not like anyone is proposing Sharia law.
In Texas a woman who needed an abortion for the sake of her life had to travel 13 hours to get to the nearest clinic that would treat her. 13. Hours.
Yeah this is under current law, so upholding roe v wade would be the same as using cardboard for a bulletproof vest. Anyway, if she had to drive that far she was way out in the boonies, like far enough that she had trouble seeing the ob/gyn to find out there were any issues until it's life threatening in the first place. Honestly individual stories don't move me, I knew a girl whose kid got lead poisoning because that party lifestyle was more worth it than toys not from the 60's, boohoo, not my family.
Anyway, depending on where she was in Texas, Mexico offers abortions, could have been a shorter drive. Texas is more anti-abortion than Louisiana is, so that's not surprising at all, the surrounding states are as well. I'm not going to move to New York and expect support for my enthusiasm or rights for long range shooting... Maybe in Jersey
Because people can just go to another state and get an abortion which makes abortion bans kinda pointless
@Intothevoid666 That's my point, just like the states that ban certain weapons, or make difficult background checks... just buy it in the next state over.
Yes, please. Plan B is not a contraceptive; it doesn't prevent fertilization it destroys the embryo. As IUDs have been explained to me they prevent the embryo from attaching to the uterine wall. So again not a contraceptive. You say that condoms will be banned; but none of your citations say that. You also claim IVF will be banned too; but again leave out any citations of people saying that. As for miscarriages becoming illegal, only the most hyperbolic people suggest such things and even if someone passes a law expressly stating that it would quickly be challenged and struck down. At any rate, I do want a ban on abortion, including Plan B and IUDs. I don't want exceptions for rape and incest; only life of the mother. As an exception must have a logical reasoning for allowing the destruction of an innocent life. The life of the mother meets this requirement; whereas rape and incest do not.
Scary statistics, and yet we keep hearing all of these blue users on here saying crap like these women should keep their legs closed. Oh yeah, do they really want that? If the supreme court overturns Roe vs Wade how will it affect the upcoming midterm elections in November? Well if some of these legislators get there wish some of us will try to do that but god help the women who are raped and can't use plan B, or 11 the girl who's raped by a family member and the pregancy will kill her.
Wrong link, lol, here is the right one How many men would be in support of a woman wanting to hold off on PIV intercourse until marriage? ↗

I personally think it’s fucking pathetic what is going on over in the US.
There is pretty much zero comment over here on abortion and it is regulated more than some countries in Europe.
If you look at a lot of states, such as Texas, their care system is broken and overloaded and under funded.
irrespective of the abortion side of things, fix that first then look at the entire abortion side of things from a purely medical and not religious stand point and definitely not as political point scoring.

also as I said in another question on ‘Gay’ Therapy Conversion, the type against abortions will almost guaranteed be fully for this inhumane torture of their own kids.
as I said there, I bet if there was a ‘Gay Gene’ check early in pregnancy, they would be advocating for full gene checks and aborting potential ‘Gay’ kids.
No exceptions. No child should ever have to be murdered on account of the sins of the parents. Ever. If that means new hobbies, and no more one night stands for you, GREAT!!!
I've considered taking up painting myself. Next, let's reverse Lawrence! And then, go back to restoring integrity to 1964, to reverse the clown act disregard for it shown by Biden.
Then, completely erase whatever remains of LBJ's Great Society nonsense! Add term limits to Congress, strictly enforced!
Making land ownership a requirement for suffrage may be taking it a step too far though. Still, voters should be those who have the most investment to lose in the results of an election, to be sure it's what they want. Disaffected zombies shouldn't be able to decide the fate of a farm they have no investment in.
Offers of "free" handouts in exchange for votes is bribery. Especially when thievery via hidden taxes is the means to that end. Bribes like that are criminal, and bribers need to fear the law again, regardless of party affiliation.
Every 4th of July, I hear someone playing "God Bless the USA" by Lee Greenwood. Yet, a nation that won't stop prolapsing itself out of excessive self-idolization, punishing those who won't play along, while refusing to regard its progeny as a sacred calling, is deceiving itself to think it warrants a divine blessing. All such civilizations, who celebrate such evil, are cursed!
I'd sooner die a childless monk, than know I brought a child into the world, just so some thot would turn around and kill it, just so she can cheat on me with impunity! To hell with all such thots!
No exceptions? Not even for the life of the mother? Not very prolife of you
The number of cases where death by childbirth is still a real possibility is so minimal, as to make the argument farcical. There are whole genecolygists who've gone their entire careers in which killing a child to save the mother was never necessary. With all the techniques and tech we have to grow children outside the womb, the idea that abortion is the "only way" is beyond ignorant. An abomination has become a sacrament. And that's why we're cursed as a nation.
Sir the USA has the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world. For every 100k births 23 women die.
Where'd you dig up that statistic?
From what Google is saying, the maternity mortality rate dropped to almost nothing, then 2020 happened. Healthcare quality took a nosedive due to the Scamdemic. It's not lack of abortion killing mothers, it's nurses making Tik Tok videos. Abortion kills mothers too. But no one talks about that statistic. Chop shops race dying women from botched jobs to the hospital, just so they can croak off campus, just so they don't have to report it as being their own fault.
No matter how illegal all that is, they seldom ever fear prosecution, because Demoncraps will never let the blood sacrifice ritual they launder money from be interrupted over an annoying statistic that can be easily manipulated. This leads to frustrated family members taking justice into their own hands, because worthless -ass satanic DAs won't punish the chop shops. And instead of losing their jobs for this dereliction, said DAs get promoted to federal healthcare positions! Corruption at its finest!
Hence why George Tiller the Killer met with a sniper - in a church, no less! The worthless DA left a grieving father believing he had no other options.
That's your holy sacrament of abortion in a nutshell. Pelicans have the right idea. They'd rather rip their own chests open, than see harm come to their babies.
Ruth Weber in Minnesota turned down a treatment that could have spared her from death by stomach cancer, because she understood that her child being born was more sacred than her own life.
If more women had such wisdom, we'd have a free republic full of militias, liberty, energy independence, and low crime. Not a degenerate cesspool of detergent munchers and Tik Tok thots! Nor a soul-crushing prison-industrial complex! You think the prison system is always fair to women? Just like men, they too get screwed over by corruption! Half of which wouldn't exist, if we didn't have a culture that sacrifices to Moloch!
I'm not.
They are trying to lock up the right side voters and win elections. I think a corilary effect is to boot many left leaning people out of their states. Brilliant! We could end up with right controlled areas that would be better managed, safer, with police and order, and still be able to drive to other places to have your offspring killed by a "physician". Note... when my cat was "put to sleep" it was by my order to have my veterinarian kill... or end the cats life..., for it's own good to limit suffering. I had my cat, whom I loved... killed! I'm not just being mean, it's the truth. Accept the emotions of the words... it's life and death. And these are hard choices.
These are hard life choices politicians should not be making. It is your space and domain! You are responsible! If you suffer either way, it's your problem. You want advice... we should have that available for you. I favor life... I agree with her on that... but not my call nor theirs.
I think the politicians are wrong... but might be right politically. make sense?
I'm anti-abortion but no this person is just a stupid radicalist.
Just as with most other things exceptions should be made. Women who've been raped shouldn't have to go through with the pregnancy as that wasn't their decision. While incest probably would be someone's decision I also agree with abortions then but that's more because that child is going to have health problems that just probably aren't going to be worth it living through.
No the times when I disagree with abortions is when someone is just having an abortion because they made a stupid mistake and don't want to live with its consequences. If there's a serious health risk then I agree abortions should be an option. I also agree abortions should be an option if someone was raped or the baby was conceived through incest. I don't know about teen pregnancy I don't know how I feel about abortion in that case.
Primarily the people I think who shouldn't be allowed to have abortions or the people who aren't at serious risk of dying who also conceived this child through negligible means. When I say negligible means that is my way of saying someone who had sex without using any form of birth control or only used a condom. Because these are people who had plenty of warning and plenty of options to prevent the pregnancy from happening but they didn't go through with it this is their fault.
I actually giggled reading you complaining about prison sentences. It's the LAST thing a Democrat should be bitching about, considering y'all are letting murderers out of jail overnight and keep refusing to prosecute a shit ton of other criminals. I know I know-- unrelated but factual.
No, I don't like abortion at all (I have a right to my own feelings), but I'd support it in cases where the mother's health is actually at risk or in cases of rape and such. Not just because someone "slipped one past the goalie".
There's a reason I stopped street racing. Because I realized I wouldn't be able to handle some of the potential consequences of my actions. Perhaps, it's time for women to stop fucking everyone who buys them a drink at the bar if they can't handle the possible consequences of that action, which include becoming pregnant.
This is why I believe that people should reserve sex for marriage or at least a committed relationship. But once again, that's MY beliefs which I am entitled to have. I know you feel differently.
No I don’t want it. I’m pro-choice. I’ll tell you what I do want though.
I want Democrats and Leftists to stop blaming Republicans for this. There is a DEMOCRAT president. Congress is controlled by the DEMOCRATS. You all could have codified Roe into a binding federal law that would apply to all states across the board. I mean you control Congress. Take some goddamn responsibility for a change.
“Codifying Roe v. Wade would mean passing a law that would affirm a pregnant person’s right to an abortion without undue interference
The most effective way to codify Roe v. Wadewould be for Congress to pass a law, such as the Women’s Health Protection Act, that would be binding for all states. This act was passed in the House on September 24, but it is considered unlikely to pass in the Senate
Unless Roe v. Wade is codified, blue states will likely decide to codify Roe, while red states will continue to enact restrictions on abortion rights, like the 2021 Texas Abortion Law.”
But let’s forget all that. How is the Republican Party and the every Conservative in America somehow to blame for a decision from 9 judges—three of whom were women, it’s diverse racially, and yes despite what you all would like to believe, there ARE liberal judges on the bench.
You all championed the wisdom of the Supreme Court and respected their decision on gay marriage...
BUT they are all Republican hacks when they talk about ending Roe.
This is what people don’t like about Democrats. You have no consistency. You only care about winning, period. And if you don’t? Well it’s time to go to peoples’ homes or menace them in public. Maybe get a mob together and follow them around and scream at them. That’ll do wonders for how average Americans think of your tactics.
No the can't. They'd need a 3/4ths majority of both the Senate and the popular vote to do that. If they just passed an ordinary law, the Supreme Court could call that "unconstitutional".
Besides, you liberal retards refuse to admit Good and Evil are not something you are allowed to vote on.
Abortion is murder and is wrong and has always been wrong.
If Abraham Lincoln were alive at the time of the Roe vs. Wade ruling, he would have executed the liberal justices for TREASON and accomplice to mass murder.
The Roe vs Wade ruling is the single most evil legislative act in the history of Western Civlization. We've murdered more babies since then than the total number of people killed by the German nazi party in all of WWII combined... and the mass murder continues daily... all so you liberal hedonists can have your sexual perverted fantasy lifestyle with no moral obligations to God or anyone else.
Read the Declaration of INdependence, th efounding legal document of the United States.
It states, in part, that Rights and Duties come from THE CREATOR, not man-made laws, and you can read the document any way you like, but "abortion" is not a fundamental human right of anyone.
Abortion is and always was murder.
Thomas Jefferson was a LIBERAL by his time's definition of the term, and he'd have had the Roe vs Wade court executed for treason and crimes against humanity too.
Damn…It’s almost like people aren’t obligated to live their lives for the purpose of a religion or God they don’t believe in Wade. The moment you bring God into the conversation is the moment you lose the argument. Not everyone believes in God, not everyone believes that they have to live their life surrounded by your religion. Cry about people not following God all you want, it just makes you look foolish. You can’t force anyone to live the way you live.
Some of the stuff I don’t particularly agree with.
But anyone who is pro-life is going to be more or less supportive of some of these proposals.
Again, why? It’s about life for us, hence pro LIFE.
You believe what you want to believe and we will do the same.
If you think it’s right for women to be sexually irresponsible and able to kill their would-be son or daughter out of convenience then that’s all you.
Less than 1% of abortions are done due to rape.
It’s not about taking a woman’s freedom away.
It’s simply about life.
Controlling a women's pregnancy is authority gone too far. If you can tell a woman what she's to do with her pregnancy, then you have too much power. The state has too much power if it can do that. And I would say the same thing if the opposite were proposed, that all women should have abortions if they become pregnant. They did that in China for years, forcing millions of women to get abortions, which killed a good many of them.
What women decide to do with their embryos or fetuses is none of their fucking business. Nor is it mine or anyone else's but the man and the woman that created the pregnancy ( that's of course if the man decides to stick around and assume some responsibility. But most of the time they don't). None of my personal feelings about abortion matter because it isn't any of my business. And that's where I always leave it.
It's not a big issue for me and I wish republican politicians would put this where it belongs and that's at the bottom of the list, with federal government overreach and allowing violent offenders to bond out being much more important things to focus on.
That said, I am pro life but I take no issues with a pill abortion, I do take issue with the dismemberment of a baby. Make birth control easy to assess and more effective of course but once the body begins to form at say 7 months, that's it, no abortion after that as it's now a human separate from the mother.
Most abortions happen way before this so it wouldn't prevent a ton of them
At 7 months the fetus is viable. Abortions don't take place at this point unless the fetus has died.
I wonder what kind of smoke she'd blow out of her ass if her daughter her niece her daughter-in-law were raped brutally raped I wonder if she would force them to have that baby this lady's fucking sick and just think we elected these people office this is just a major wake-up call for all of us we need to start putting other people into office we need to get rid of the clowns the ones that are selling this all out I doubt that lady's going to be re-elected
Im not in either of the main political parties so I’m not fighting to give others a choice nor am I fighting to ban them from doing anything. I just personally stay away from contraceptives and would never support abortion. If a person is not ready to face parenthood, I still personally feel adoption is a better option than abortion.
oh hell yes they do! seriously they want to make handmaids tale and the gilead a reality. we can't let them!
https://www.youtube.com/embed/tJooIcJ-PpkThis right here pretty much lays out what they want. what Desantis is doing in Florida is basically what they wanna try to do nationwide.
I agree with you. These people are insane. They pretend to care about human life, but they are actually hate-filled fanatics. Fucking Tailban. I'm talking about the legislators and those who support their agendas.
I don't know what to say... I don't live in your country and don't understand the circumstances why your government is doing this...
All that I can see is your government is trying to repopulate your country by any means... And thats not good...
In my country abortion is banned in some manner... Like, it is ok to do if girl is teenager, raped, or have medical condition... And yes if mother of child don't want child then also it is ok... But that child should not be girl...
You can always conjure up worst-case scenarios and that is what's happened here. What you don't realize is that politicians compete to suggest these outrageous remedies primarily to get right-wing voters worked up. Most of the things you cite are so outrageous they will never become law and will never be put into effect.
Totally unlike implying late term abortions are the norm.
Do you agree that abortions are not healthcare? ↗
Repealing Roe would be outrageous, but it looks like it's going to happen.
Late term abortions are more often than not WANTED pregnancies. Nobody goes 6-7 months into a pregnancy and then goes "ah I'm bored with this get it out".
Late term abortions are less than 2%. Issues can arise after the second trimester that put both the fetus and the carrier at risk. No sane person is going to put themselves through an abortion (which is incredibly painful by the way) if they don't feel like they absolutely have to.
You don't get epidurals for abortions.
Because it costs too much. You're sent home to deal with your issue. For later term you're put under, and expected to just go home and deal with your own pain, plus bleeding for 2+ weeks.
I'm glad you asked that, because I quoted from memory.
The 20 million was half of 40 million uninsured. Thanks to Obamacare, that's dropped below 30 million (=> 15 million uninsured women) from 45 million in 2012.
It seems I was wrong. It's not 25%, it's closer to 75%, although in those cases it may not be the main reason (women could indicate multiple reasons).
"The reasons most frequently cited were that having a child would interfere with a woman's education, work or ability to care for dependents (74%); that she could not afford a baby now (73%); and that she did not want to be a single mother or was having relationship problems (48%). Nearly four in 10 women said they had completed their childbearing, and almost one-third were not ready to have a child."
www.guttmacher.org/.../reasons-us-women-have-abortions-quantitative-and-qualitative-perspectives
This other survey found 40% were "not financially prepared".
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/.../?report=objectonly
But this might be the roughly 25% I thought was right. It was of American women's main reason for having an abortion, 27.2% for "socioeconomic reasons" (nobody gets an abortion because they're too rich):
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/.../?report=objectonly
abortion is murder and there should be no exceptions.
A person caught having an abortion should be sentenced the same as any other murderer, that is to say, the death penalty, the same as the penalty for murder has been for the past 4000 years.
For you idiot liberals, life begins at the moment of conception, and it says so in any college biology text. Get over it. If you support abortion, You support murder, and as such you shoudl be punished as an accomplice to murder.
Lmao you’re such an angry little man 😂 Like I said, “any biological text” is pretty vague and just tells me that you haven’t actually read any like you claim to have read. Blanket statements like yours don’t make you right, they just make you look foolish.
@Wade12345 So angry! 😂 Relax man, you’re gonna give yourself worry lines! But hey man, if you’re so passionate about this what exactly are you doing to help solve the “problem”? Aside from whining on Girls ask Guys 🌚🌝 While we’re having this discussion those eggs that you care so much about up until the point they’re actually born are being aborted right now! 😱 So sad!
This whole situation is an unintended consequence of political polarization.
The old status quo that's being overturned was the result of an age where people could debate without devolving into a screaming mob, and ultimately reach a constructive compromise.
Moderates on both sides need to rein in their most extremist members, but for whatever reason that's just not happening anymore. I'm curious why that is.
Political polarization isn't new. The idea of compromise on both sides can very much come down to the other side caving to demands of the other. Also one of the main issues with being moderate is that you end up being drowned out by the smaller vocal minority of extreme groups in your party. Making it next to impossible to be heard due to the wall of noise being created by the smaller vocal minority. So it creates a situation where moderates can either become disenfranchised to the point they stop trying to be heard or simply join the vocal minority so their is a chance they will be heard.
Then you have the independents who are working together to create compromises and pretty much end up waiting at the bargaining table to enact a real compromise. Since it can seems impossible to get enough people on either side of the isle to come to the bargaining table to enact a actual compromise, they end up becoming disenfranchised and that creates it's own set of issues. Everything from leaving bargaining table and politics behind to simply dying at the same table because they hoped enough people on both sides of the isle would join them at some point to make a compromise.
Also politics can quickly become no place for a intellectual. That in itself can create issues in itself. Because critical thinking, research and reflecting on the realities of America can make you a enemy of both sides. So there are a lot of valuable people that can bring a lot to the table that will never sit down at it. Because doing so can very much result in both sides of the isle starting what can be best summed up as a political witch hunt. Especially given that the intellectual is more then likely to call out both sides for various reasons.
All humans have a right to life. I think this article os purposefully misleading, because every policy put forward is a ban on killing. Humans should only die of natural causes, or on their own terms. Nobody can speak on behalf of another without consent.
"Nobody can speak on behalf of another without consent"
They're literally trying to take that away.
Because they're trying to end a life.
An established life is more important than a fetus with no brain activity.
No it isn't. And you're not taking a life a way by having a child
It's definitely a possibility
So allow abortions for the health of the mother and nothing else?
That doesn't work. Health is a very broad term. What about mental health? Also things like that are already in place in Texas... Yet women whos lives are in danger are being turned away from clinics because the clinic is too afraid of possible repercussions. Who decides the point in which a womans life is in danger? Does she need to be physically dying?
Because if that's what you believe then I don't think you actually care about life. You just care about an unborn fetus and want to force women to birth unwanted children so we can have more mentally ill people in the world. What kind of life is that?
A doctor would make that decision not you, me or congress. A doctor prescribes all other treatments and medications anyway
But most Drs offices are booked out for weeks.
Pregnancy lasts 9 months
If you are fucking dying it's not going to last that long...
If didn't go to the emergency room when I did I would have fucking died on the bathroom floor.
So go to the emergency room. Not that difficult to grasp
People shouldn't have to be on the brink of death in order to end a pregnancy they didn't want. You're stupid.
It shouldn't require you to be on the brink of death. Just a medical opinion
That makes no sense?
You don't need to be on the brink of death for a doctor to give an evaluation that would result in recommending an abortion
Um in many cases you are... By the time you think something is wrong and book an appointment, you could very likely on the brink of death by the time the appointment comes around. Sometimes the signs aren't so obvious.
I mean if you planned to keep it you're already screwed.
The only reason I went to the hospital was because I already knew I was pregnant. Otherwise I would have ignored the pain because it just felt like really bad cramps.
Okay? That doesn't really change anything.
Yes it does. If I didn't know I was pregnant and my tube exploded. Then went to the hospital they would spend over an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with me. Me would = dead.
I really don't think you understand just how quickly pregnancies can take a turn and how fast septic shock sets in.
Nobody should be forced to go through anything like that if they aren't prepared for all the risks.
I don't think you understand my point. Legalized abortion for non medical purposes wouldn't have helped you. The Doctor saved you. You stated you didn't know what was wrong with you. That's why you saw a doctor.
But if abortion was illegal in my state I would have had a harder time finding a Dr to take me. As many women are ALREADY experiencing.
Then legalize it for life saving operations instead of forcing states to implement laws that allow people to sue doctors for preforming abortions
It is legal in life saving situations... That's what you're not understanding. It literally doesn't matter because clinics are too afraid to take people in, even if it is legal.
And why are they afraid?
They're afraid of being punished for preforming an abortion. Even though in their medical opinion they know the carrier wouldn't survive, why would anyone believe them when people without any medic experience are the ones making laws.
Not to mention some of those states up there are looking to make it illegal even when the mother's life is in danger. They're suggesting reimplantation of an ectopic pregnancy. Even though we know that is impossible.
I would assume the push back from pro lifers is because people who don't need an abortion are getting them and because their tax dollars are supporting what they consider to be morally reprehensible
People would hate Abortion less if it was seen as a necessary evil rather than an escape route from responsibility
Tax dollars? Most abortions you have to pay for yourself... People don't get abortions as contraception that's some made up BS forced birthers tell you to make abortion look bad.
$500 million of federal tax dollars go to Planned parenthood a year. If you're not getting an abortion to save your life. It is a form of contraception.
Like why on earth would you want people who cannot afford to have children have them? We already have so many people living in poverty. If you force people to have babies (that means even when the baby is given up for adoption) then you're forcing women to not be able to feed their already existing children. Also did you know that babies that are black are least likely to be adopted? Also boys are about one third less likely to be adopted too. Babies who have already been born are far more undesired.
I want all humans to have their right to life guaranteed by the government.
You do realize that planned Parenthood do more than abortions? We have the Hyde amendment. Abortions cannot be funded by tax dollars
I know what they do. Doesn't matter that they have whatever service that any other clinic can provide. Abortions are the thing they're known for and their most profitable service.
@TwoToTooTutu2 ref Planned Parenthood and it’s money.
Do you know where the money goes?
Here is some info…
www.plannedparenthood.org/.../...020-web-final.pdf
1,837,950 reversible contraception clients
584,003 emergency contraception kits
861,664 HIV tests conducted
308,135 STIs diagnosed
75,578 women whose cancer was detected early or whose abnormalities were identified
That’s 75, 000 women who are likely alive by having cancer detected.
You against all that I guess.
Yes, they're a for profit corperate monopoly that leeches off American Tax dollars.
Nestle is a partner with the Feeding America charity. So is the company that believes water isn't a human right good and deserves millions of tax dollars?
No, nestle is legitimately evil. I don't buy their products. But planned Parenthood literally saves lives.
Planned parenthood kills hundreds of thousands a year.
@TwoToTooTutu2 it also ‘saves’ millions
1,837,950 reversible contraception clients
584,003 emergency contraception kits
Why not mention the millions it saves
Contraception doesn't save lives what are you on about?
@TwoToTooTutu2 of course it does
It prevents pregnancies
Have a look at Ireland and it’s history, that is what your reality looks like
Look at exactly what happens
Increases quality of life for some, but are you blind? Cervical screenings save lives.
I'd literally not be able to work for a total of like half the year due to excruciating period pains. But I've got contraception so my quality of life is significantly improved.
It doesn't save lives. And I looked up "cervical screenings near me" 1 planned parenthood 100s of other options.
That's irrelevant... The fact is planned Parenthood do more than just abortions. It's a normal gyno clinic. Like many others.
Do you even know what cervical screenings look for? How the fuck can it not save lives?
I'm talking about Contraception not cervical screenings. And what also isn't irrelevant is that Pro life Americans have their tax dollars sent to a company that performs what they consider morally reprehensible.
@TwoToTooTutu2 if you are Pro life, why do you have a military and fund it with taxes.
Also why do you have so many weapons in the US and kill school kids?
Why is that not the big focus of Pro life at the moment?
Surely having kids and having to teach them how to avoid an active shooter, having to arm teachers to keep kids safe should be a HUGE focus of Pro Life people.
Bit erm hypocritical if it’s not.
Also I’ve never seen a Pro Life person ranting about how poor the car system is and how it needs more funding.
Why not reduce the funding on the military and increase funding on the care system?
If you are going to save that life, you need to make sure it has a decent life, especially those who have major medical complications and will throughout their lives and need those care taxes.
Because pro life is about the individual right to life. Not to preserve all life on Earth. Death is inevitable, but the only person who should take a life is mother nature.
Do you mean the health care system? I personally believe in UBI as opposed to Universal Healthcare, but I am not opposed to the idea of Universal Healthcare
@TwoToTooTutu2 to quote you..
but the only person who should take a life is mother nature.
Un quote
Then why have you got firearms.
Are you a vegetarian?
Your taxes are used to kill children overseas
Why are you not protesting?
You personally as an American tax payer have the blood of foreign children on your hands, killed by your military.
Seems a tad hypocritical to me, you preach all this sanctity about life but have all these firearms and your taxes pay for killing people overseas but you don’t rant and protest about that.
If you look at my original comment I said "Humans should only die of natural causes, or on their own terms" but as I have also said death is inevitable, and sometimes the only way to save a life is to take one. That is why I am okay with a doctor prescribing an abortion or a military killing civilians because they are professionals who know when it is necessary to do so. Who am I to tell the chief of staff he is wrong, or a doctor that they are wrong?
If death is inevitable to you then you shouldn't care about the unborn. It's inevitable they will die anyway.
Then you shouldn't care if I kill you. See, that's a bad argument. All individuals have a right to life that nobody can take from them except in extraneous circumstances.
Of course I won't care. I'd be dead.
Other than greater inconvenience if you live some states, it will make very little difference. It is not difficult to travel to another state to get an abortion. If you can’t get Plan B, it is possible to prevent pregnancy by taking multiple birth control pills at once, which–when taken at the correct dosage–approximates the 1mg of levonorgestrel recommended for emergency contraception.
Some of these states are looking to make it illegal to travel out of state for an abortion. Issues have already arisen for people needing emergency abortions in Texas in that clinics just won't take them because they're afraid of possible repercussions. Also sometimes the pill method (blan b and assumingly multi dose of contraception) doesn't work, it loses potency in women who weigh over 165 and doesn't work in Women over 175. Which is a relatively average weight.
@msc545 It might be now, regardless I love how irresponsibility in sex/using contraceptives to begin with becomes "well don't worry about it, abortion can be the contraceptive." I think states should be able to determine what they want, and really don't care beyond that. If I have sex with a woman without protection or birth control, we're trying to have a kid. If women I haven't made babies with want to keep or kill those kids, that's their business, and less competition my kids will face for resources, scholarships, and jobs in the future.
"Some of these states are looking to make it illegal to travel out of state for an abortion."
So what? There is no way to enforce it. Women are not going to call 911 and say, "I'm traveling to California to get an abortion." Nor, are they going to call 911 after they return. And, it would be impossible to put up roadblocks and pay doctors the amount of money necessary to do a medical exam on every woman from age 12 to 50 that drives across the border.
It's pretty obvious if you found out you were pregnant through a Dr then went out of state and came back not pregnant.
@razelove this doesn't happen. Maybe literally like less than 10 people have done this. Why are we punishing people who take precautions and do all the right things because a tiny insignificant amount of people.
With some of these proposed laws and what people seemingly want, I wouldn't be here talking to you right now. I know what a shame I actually am. But I would have been dead 3 months ago if that was how the country was.
@Smashingdoozy You do realize that same logic is the massive push for trans rights, correct? All must suffer for the smallest of minorities. I want to move to Russia.
" It's pretty obvious if you found out you were pregnant through a Dr then went out of state and came back not pregnant."
Not really! In the first place there is medical privacy. It is not illegal to be pregnant and doctors are only required to report crimes. In the second place, the doctor may have made a mistake. In the third case, she may have had a miscarriage which often happens early in the pregnancy. In the forth place. It is not illegal to move to another, establish residency, and later move back. In the fifth place, if a state becomes that oppressive, many people will move to a friendly state, and no government wants to lose people and the taxes they pay.
You cannot tell the difference between a miscarriage and the use of an abortion pill. The pill causes the same process to happen as a natural spontaneous abortion.
You're acting like "just move lol" is an appropriate response to rights being taken away.
@Smashingdoozy Contrary to the opinion of many people there is no "right" to abortion enumerated in the Constitution. The use of the term is the result of a conflation between what is actually written, and the results of an old and arguably flawed Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade many years ago. That sort of decision does not create an immutable "right" in the same way that, for instance, the enumerations of free speech and due process do (and no, abortion is NOT a part of free speech).
The enumeration of freedom of association in the Constitution also makes it a right to travel, so your fears that "Some of these states are looking to make it illegal to travel out of state for an abortion" are groundless. These hysterical hypotheticals do your cuase no good at all.
I'm not saying all this stuff will definitely happen. It's the fact that people think this is okay that is a problem. There are people who agree with everything these people say. People who think there's no such thing as a medically necessary abortion. People who think ectopic pregnancies can be reimplanted. That is dangerous information to be floating around. If these are the ideas they are telling us about then I can't imagine the ones that they don't speak out loud.
So there forcing parenthood on us.
https://images.app.goo.gl/UocdUxSbaEbd2dEe8
America has it tougher than India, that's for sure
cute anime chick
I hope this converted a lot of people today to the right side of the debate: It's okay to have your own pro life opinion, but it is NEVER okay to take away the rights of different thinking people just because you think it's right.
Get ready for a lot of babies on church steps and bins, and lot of women dying on a butcher's table.
And hopefully women will stop having sex so men can have blue balls.
To preface. I'm libertarian. I like weapons, freedom to do whatever the fuck I damn well please and despise government. This roe v wade while I personally don't like abortion this shit Is out of control with some states wanting to ban birth control and shit. I hope the protests ring a bell loud enough that the Supreme Court goes umm ok we shouldn't do this.
I think that this will be a big thing in states that restrict abortions. It will be up to the people to elect pro abortion governors and legislatures. If enough get voted out of office the rest will reconsider their positions.
Somewhere along the line the message was lost they no longer think they work for us they think we work for them this is why you have to vote these idiots out they don't have control of their own life but they wanna make decisions concerning our life this is crazy
Im Republican and prolifers annoye the 💩 out of me. I see all your points and i agree. I say those points too. These people need to go adopt out the MILLIONS of kids that are already ALIVE in foster care that are DYING to have a family of their own…
yes that is it. in my opinion stupid people like you shouldn't even be able to vote ruining the world for the rest of us. Democracy abuses the masses since they are ill informed and politically ignorant but vote out of emotional reactions. Think with your head not your ass
I think with my head not my religious beliefs. If you care about life then you make abortion legal. If you don't care about life you make it illegal.. it's simple.
Well thats your issue you put your own desires and limited understanding before Gods.
if you care about life you wouldn't use abortions to rid yourself from inconveniences. If you care for life you wouldn't support late term and post birth infanticide. Or force people to take experimental vaccines in order to keep their ability to support themselves and their families. Country doesn't need Roe it can be a states issue. Only reason Roe is a big deal is Democrats can't target Southern Blacks and prevent their population from increasing. Blacks still predominately still live in South. Roe was passed 9yrs after CRA'64 which gave black citizens complete universal rights. So no more slavery no more klan no more segregation so now its regulating population. Why do you think PP is in inner cities? Who is their target audience?
@Vendela Vendelo keep your ignorant narrow minded opinions to yourself, or open your eyes and ears and listen
@Vendela no just you
Abortion rates go up when countries make it illegal. Look at history.
Well then you have nothing worry about then, go ahead and lash out
Productive members of society... in this context i understand, that one abortion is paying way less taxes than one wage slave at McDonald's would for 20 years.
Its all about the money, not our well being.
Vasectomies and tubal libations are an investment. I would go and get one.
If abortion is ever completely banned (I don't think that's likely), there should be no exceptions. It would be wrong to say abortion is murder in some cases and not murder in others.
It's always been about 100% abortion bans and contraception bans. Those proposing it are evangelical Christians who are trying to force the population to adhere to their own sensibilities.
Curmudgeon, I fucking told you so.
You have to wonder why sleepy Joe B-IRA-den is okay with this happening under his leadership
Nothing to do with his and his sons perversions of course a ready streams of indoctrinated children told to help him sounds like Jimmy Savile type stuff
Countless times I've heard women say that men should stay the fuck out of women's business when it comes to abortion rights. But I sure hear a lot of them saying now that they wish more men would support them in their fight to keep R v W from being overturned. I wonder if those same women will support men when it comes to the right to a financial abortion. We shall see, because it's coming.
Banning abortions and contraceptives is retarded, and any such ban hwon't last long.
won't*
Well, nobody's perfect. The abortion issue is about the only failing stance of the republican party! On the other side, however, EXCEPT for the abortion issue, I don't know that the democrats have a single positive stance on their side!!
Abortion is murder. No argument could disagree against that.
Many could actually.
I bet you get invited to all the parties, don't you?
I do actually 🤪
I'm sure you do. Oh well, god bless you and I hope you learn the truth some day
People would not be penalized for a spontaneous abortion of the body. Will they do a castor oil test?
There is no way to tell if an abortion was spontaneous or not
What do you even mean. A spotaneous abortion is a miscarriage dear. That is the medical term for it. I think that they can tell.
Yes. I know. There is no difference in the body whether you had a miscarriage or took an abortion pill. Unless the pill was taken vaginally there's no way to tell. Which is why it's such a problem because legitimate miscarriages are possibly going to be investigated and these people are possibly going to be charged.
The abortion pill triggers the same process that would happen with a miscarriage.
So how are they supposed to know of someone goes to the washroom and her whole fetus comes out and it passes like a big period in the privacy of her home?
If her doctor knew that she was pregnant, they may want to uphold the law when they find out she is no longer pregnant.
This is a very fargone conclusion and highly unlikely to be applied in this draconian way. People feel entitled to the sex but not deserving of the consequences.
This is already happening
Really? People have been penalized because they said they had a miscarriage? When and where?
Oklahoma. Texas. California. Alabama. (El Salvador too but I'm assuming you just want USA) from 2019 to this year. Women have been arrested and even charged for manslaughter. For something that happens in 1 in 4 pregnancies.
Really? Ok.
This is kind of extreme.
Rape won't happen if you have a weapon or martial arts training.
Incest... you people are sick.
Contraception failing? Abstain from sex
There, no abortions needed
I don't think you actually read the post. Go back and do it again.
I suggest you read the whole thing.
What gets me is how much energy you are putting into this.
Abortion doesn't seem to 6ve an issue where im from and its legal 1st trimester and no one talks about it. Which suggests to me that women in my country aren't aren't irresponsible whores.
I've also never heard of a case of incest and rape is very very rare it seems.
It has nothing to do with how the women are using it. It's the law makers being politically bias and influenced by their religion.
In the usa over 32 thousand pregnancies are a result of rape. And that's just reported, majority go unreported. Did you know there's 3 states where incest is actually legal?
Law makers are politically biased?
No shit, thats why we have multiple political parties, the most publicly will be the law of the land.
Americans only have 2 that matter. No wonder its all fucked.
How do you know the majority is UNREPORTED, of its UNREPORTED.
Legal incest... Yeah, america is full of degeneracy.
I wonder what motivates you to post multiple screenshots that state in black and white that the desire is to ban Plan B, but yet you editorialize it as they want to outlaw a miscarriage and condoms.
What they want is for women to feel bad for having sex. That's it.
Next it'll be illegal to have sex outside of marriage
Don't you just LOVE the Republican Party? I think Abraham Lincoln is turning in his grave. These people are fucked up.
You intentionally pick the most extreme examples. Most pro-lifers are fine with abortion in the case of rape, incest, or the mother dying.
This is what people as in LEADERS or want to be leaders in various states are actually trying to accomplish. They are extreme. But they are very real.
But people agree with them. These things are very real and could happen.
Doesn't matter what the people think if these people are in power they will do what they want.
What they can get away with is still too much.
Even if there is exceptions for rape or incest. How do you prove you were raped without a trial or conviction? How do you prove it was incest? You really think a woman could just walk in, say it was rape or incest and they'd be like "ok cool here's the pills"
So having to be at least 8 weeks pregnant. Getting permission from the abuser.
Not sure what you're talking about, barely any rapists are actually convicted. Even so how long does it take to get a verdict for a court case? 8 to 12 months is the average. Bit too fucking late for an abortion then isn't it.
Exactly they don't have to agree so how on earth would you prove that the pregnancy is incest. How do I know? It's literally a statistic you can look up dude.
Ah so they're just going to keep making laws against peoples bodily autonomy
Sure. But in order to make it compulsory means you would have to throw out HIPAA because it would be giving out information without a patients consent.
Nah you can bet your ass that the "pro-lifers" making these laws will not hesitate to allow their mistresses to get an abortion.
This isn't about saving babies it's about forcing women to give birth despite USA having the highest mortality rate of the developed world, despite not having adequate parental leave, despite having no government assistance for childcare, despite wanting to make cuts to food stamps so the rich can save a quick buck in taxes.
Yeah nobody has the right to kill a baby. We aren't talking about that though. We're talking about abortion.
Which happens in nature naturally by the way. Humans aren't the only ones who can make the decision to abort.
Well I’m 24 and not spreading my legs wide open. So I don’t have no issues. I’m chillin
In other words you're single and this isn't currently affecting you
Bc she's smart
@Debbie14217 I don't know how being sing equates to being smart? Are you saying your parents are dumb? Your grandparents? They have opened their legs at least once.
If you don't like it, move to another state. Simple as that.
Not the point
Running is not the solution
@anon1903 states rights baby. Just like how Cali can be giving illegal aliens aid and being a sanctuary state/banning guns, other states can ban abortion. It's how the USA is set up.
Yeah, but that way the change you want would never come. Laws as they gain duration, they gain stability.
If abortion is allowed in cases of rape every woman is just gonna lie and say they got raped and who’s gonna prove otherwise.
All lies. The only thing the Supreme Court ruling would do is give the state back the decision.
These are proposals from individual states for AFTER roe v Wade is overturned.
Why?
The mother is an already established life.
No. a fetus is not an established life. It's life also cannot happen without the mother. There are also medically necessary abortions.
Ummm ectopic pregnancy. Removal of a deceased fetus that won't come out naturally. Water breaking before 20 weeks. Placental abruption. Preeclampsia. If someone has cancer they can't get the best treatments for the cancer while pregnant. Not to mention pregnancy can exacerbate underlying or preexisting medical conditions like renal or cardiac disease.
lol i like how you tried to pretend to care about states rights and then one comment and that facade went away. if only more of you pro-lifers would just come out and say they don't care like you.
The removal of an already deceased fetus is still an abortion.
Ectopic pregnancies aren't viable. Preeclampsia if bad can cause the mother to die which the fetus would also die. Water breaking too early will kill the fetus and can cause sepsis very quickly for the mother. Placental abruption before viability isn't survivable and can cause severe bleeding. Fetus isn't going to survive if the mother is likely to die before viability.
They need to get their orphanage situation under control first, but that's the plan, over populate as all shits hitting the fan on it's own. All it is is more wars amongst wars.
Yeah I'm good with that. Murdering children is just not acceptable in a polite society
This was necessary due to heauxs aborting all our children. Hence the declining the population among all ethnicities.
Maybe OM (orgasmic meditation) will become a thing?
Maybe you will know the truth someday... actually i know you will when you meet your maker
What mideval thing are u talking about.
This really pisses you off? Good.
Can you provide actual sources?
Yeah, I pray you find God and don't murder.
