If you are referring to the shooting of the supermarket in Buffalo well then I would have to stay from the amount of evidence and the statement from officials that it was a race based attack he spoke about his hate for black people. also went online and founds much of him engaging in hate content and just a lot of really f***** up piece of s*** geared towards black people and the fact that he even stated it when they arrested him and I mean the shitload more you know. he tells a white guy sorry he thought he was black and went and proceeded to target blacks. He's 18 and definitely he is influenced to think this way... hate is taught... learned... it's terrible to put that ideology in someone's mindset and beliefs... to go set out in the world to ruin others lives and turn what can be love into pure hate and evil.

I think it´s both because it´s a hate crime since he was white and the majority were black.
Nevertheless the guy is crazy in his mind. I don´t think though that he was born crazy and you couldn´t have changed something about it. I think he rather was weird and socially awkward and became crazy later on because a person isn´t born with a certain mindset that´s something one learns after some times.
I agree with you though that news often times put a very high focus on the description because that way people are not talking about the assasin´s background.

The US should drop "hate crime" from its legal diction. Murder is murder, and giving a crime special treatment based on who the victims are serves nobody except for political interests and feeding into these losers. He was being monitored by the FBI because he threatened to shoot up a school, and he has diagnosed mental problems, so he is certifiably crazy. Of course the Democratic party will try to exploit the race angle, because that's what they always do when the narrative fits. I think the guy was shooting at targets of opportunity, not selecting specific targets. It was most likely a case of more black people standing around him when he started shooting than the color of their skin.

Obviously it was. The term gets used way too much but in this case it is clear. He was a bright student, not some mentally defective twit, and his motivation was to kill black people, as evidenced by both his actions and his writings. Not sure how it could be clearer than this.
