Do you believe that most compliments that people give are superficial and not meaningful?

I think that is a really good question and thank you for asking such an important one. You must be a deep thinker and want to understand the people around you.

I do believe most compliments are from the heart. Here is why.
First compliments are rare. It takes effort to think positive and then to voice that feeling to others. And most people are shy or bitter and withdrawn.

Second its a good idea to take people at face value. You cannot read minds. We project. If you want to project what you clearly don't know someone is thinking about then why not project something positive. It can't help but reflect in your face. This will be a big an attraction to others. A cynical view will drive them away and you will get far less compliments.

Tips on complimenting. Be specific. Telling someone they are beautiful means little. Pick something specific. "Your hair is so silky", "Your skin really glows", "Wow, that dress fits you so well and makes you stand out"
" really like your company you are always so bubbly"
Be honest when asked your opinion if you do not like something. State the specific reason, then add something positive. This will make every compliment you say have weight. Truth and Trust will be how people hear you.

I do my best to find something to compliment people on. There is always something about everyone that is a positive. This opens the wonders hidden inside of people and that is what we are all after.

Quite frankly, those are the best in my opinion. Having a kid randomly compliment my hair easily makes my day.
