It's funny how one male feminist voted yes on this...
I remember this story about the vegan place and pharmacy with the "man tax" from way back. This is how wokeness can destroy your brain... THIS is why "get woke, go broke" isn't just a catchy slogan, it's reality... These dumbf*cks actually opened a business discrimination against 50% of their customers. Keep in mind, people do that a lot in politics, but not in actual business endeavors. Even woke Disney doesn't tell their conservative Florida residents not to go to Disneyworld...
The sheer hatred and stupidity here blows my f*cking mind! Like, HOW can you be THIS f*cking stupid? HOW did these dumb assholes think they were going to survive? Even seven year old children know the basics of "supply and demand" and that no one is going to buy their lemonade or Girl Scout cookies if they insult half of their potential customers. Hell, they'd be smart enough to figure the other half would also not support them out of solidary...
"Owner Alexandra O’Brien said in August two years ago that the tax wasn’t strictly enforced. 'If people aren’t comfortable paying it or men don’t want to pay it, we’re not going to kick them out the door. It’s just a good opportunity to do some good.'"
That's like saying "Our burger place is going to charge women extra for being such bitches and screwing us over in divorce court, but if they don't want to pay extra, then don't, because it's not like women can accept responsibility for anything, anyway."
Or to put it in other terms, "I hate you, but I'm also better than you because I'm not going to FORCE you to pay extra, unlike what men have done to us over history. See, we're better than oppressive patriarchy, right?"
I bet she only said that crap because it's illegal to discriminate the way she truly wants to. You can't be a feminist and believe in the "wage gap" and then pretend like you DON'T hate men.
Keep in mind, all of this would be sh*tty and breaking all kinds of rules even if she had a fair and valid point. But it takes mere seconds to look up (preferably not on Google) how false and inaccurate the wage gap is and why it's a myth. It's like saying society discriminates against fast food workers in favor of doctors and that "burger-flipper bigotry" has to come to an end! But yeah, the wage gap was even debunked when I was in high school in 2004!This was a lot of typing to just say how some people don't deserve certain rights. If you're this stupid, you should not be able to start your own business, let alone vote.
And yes, I DID try not to get riled up after being reminded of this dumbf*ckery again. I guess I failed.

There is no such thing as a “Gender Wage Gap” is was debunked in the 70’s,
The Feminists who go on about it never compare like jobs with like jobs, and the Feminists never consider if men are doing more hour than women doing the same job, or if men are doing the dirty dangerous jobs which attract higher rates of pay, which women do not want to do.
In the UK the Equal Pay Act ensures that workers receive the same wage for a job irrespective of whether they are male or female. This only changes if they are on personal contracts with a company where people are paid for their skills and experience.
Anyone who thinks men should have an extra tax inflicted on the because they are male should consider the fate of the Melbourne Café ‘Hansom Her’ they went under because customers male and female walked away because of their ‘Man Tax’ and they did not just loose their customers over the one week a month that they imposed the tax, but every day of the week the café was open, they even had heavy push-back from their own community who saw it as showing their community in a negative light.
Y'know, I've actually heard from some of my male coworkers - and this was a surprise - that they'd be willing to pay a tax premium if it meant women could get free menstrual products.
When men in my life learn how much money women in their lives spend on bras and menstration products, they are floored.
Men really don't understand how easy they have it in the clothing and maintenance realms.
3 bras - 2 properly fitted and tailored (scientifically proven to help reduce the chance of breast soreness, back problems, and sometimes glandular issues) day use bras and 1 high impact support sports bra cost me $400 CAD.
The cheapest bra I can find that properly fits? $80.
Pads and tampons are things women use monthly, and they are expensive. Sustainable alternatives are often $30 plus you have to additional maintenance in time, effort, and cleaning products.
I don't know about a "man tax" everywhere, I would prefer just equal wage for equal work, and a universal tax increase combined with corporate price controls on women's sanitation products - and for the government to issue tax rebates on the base cost of bras (and supportive men's underwear if that's a thing - equality goes both ways). Ideally free bras and menstration products for people who need them, too.
Mm. I have 3 minor certificates in my field on top of an honours university degree. When I joined the company I had over a decade's worth of high-level (as in I was offered jobs over the phone no in-person interviews in other states for the local government) experience.
I make $32.75/hour more than the top-paid man in our group. Why? Because knowledge and experience I have him beat hands down. Only an absolute A+ graded failure of an idiot would compare my experience/training to his.
97% of people who scream there's a wage gap forget that a junior employee, someone with no comparable certifications, etc., etc., etc isn't paid as much as the experienced staff with qualifications.

Just when you thought things couldn't get any dumber. I was arguing with a trany on this site. She said that the LGBT community were tired of not getting equal rights. What? They don't want equal rights, they want more rights than the rest. I told her that I didn't want men in women's bathrooms. She said that wasn't fair, and blocked me. lol

These people are lunatics.
We used to live near the Canadian border. Some restaurants accepted Canadian money at par. That meant that Canadians got cheaper food than Americans. So they lost their American customers. Brilliant.
I was in a department store, and was in line with my cart. They announced over their overhead speakers "Americans, please don't shop here on the weekends, because we want to make more room for our friends from the North. lol Half of the customers walked out and left our carts full of shit. Brilliant move.
Now we have a man tax? And what will that solve, and where will the tax go? In the pocket of the gay man that put the sign up? Brilliant.
I fully believe that evolution stopped around 1900, and is slipping back in the other direction. That’s not right. Because those same men are the ones that have to bring that money to their female partners and mothers of their children.
You can’t keep separating men and women like this.
Men clearly need the extra money to support their families. Cause that’s what they’re there for. They’re the hunters and providers.
Women are supposed to be the homemakers , and lovers of the men. They’re supposed to live like princesses.
BUT NO. ALL THOSE DEMONIC FEMINISTS WANT TO BE BETTER AND COMPETE WITH THE MALES.
That’s not how it’s supposed to work.No it’s a fucking stupid idea along with exist and discriminatory.
As for the wage gap.
Let’s say a woman gets hired on at my job with the same position she’ll make about 5$ less then me. BUT that’s not because she’s a woman.
She’ll make less then the me because I’ve been at the job for years, have more knowledge, more experience and more responsibilities and things in general that I do compared to her and am proven to do my job well and be reliable while she isn’t. And she’d be seasonal ( what all new employees start out at ) while I’m full time so I get priority when it comes to hours or overtime.
That’s not sexist or discriminatory. And it’d make no sense for her to make as much as me. Or have as many opportunities for hours or overtime. An outwardly discriminatory law like this would never pass. Figure out how to exclude the 'non Essentials' to push your gender bashing agenda.
I'd rather start with taxing Viagra, testosterone therapy, condoms, and other medically unnecessary treatments/exams for those with a prostate. It's not discrimination if its aimed at a product, because anyone can choose not to buy it. If my clinician doesn't want to perform a prostate exam, they shouldn't be forced to and the individual can do their own research to find a clinic willing to do that. Heaven forbid they outlaw a penis specific procedure all together, that would be quite discriminatory indeed.
So in short, no, I don't think men should be charged a man tax. I do think we should evaluate why every 'feminine hygiene' project that keeps her from bleeding through her pants 6 days a month IS taxed, among with other existing gender specific laws trying to write themselves into existence.Discrimination + sexist + it's a bullshit premise. If it was a 7% women tax or 7% black tax, people would LOSE THEIR FUCKING MINDS. Some moron just saw the men and women part of that study, they didn't look at the whole fucking thing in context, or WHY.
I can understand if 2 people are doing the same job at same standard one of them getting passed off for earning less. But the wage gap is more down to women working less hours or taking a great proportion of minimum wage jobs. I can't name any company who has a policy of paying according to sex, it's illegal.
Dumb stunts like this just put off half your customer base who are probably there to buy their wife a gift. That is sexist and NO. I can't help that I was born a man. I don't even agree with things like free ladies nights and stuff like that and women only restaurant. I think it is sexist and misandrist.
I don't agree with giving women nicer bathrooms. It is a common misconception by men that women's restrooms are cleaner more often then not they are WORSE!!! A LOT worse at that. I don't use women's bathrooms but I have heard from many women and people who clean them that they are worse then the men's roomHah. A few years ago a hair dressing chain stated that men were under-exploited with their haircuts and they were going to charge more to even it up for women. Yes they did say under-exploited.
I delighted in going to their salon and asking how much for a #0 clipper cut - I think I was told $50 - and I said that was far too much and it was exploitative. It did seem to cause some offense but that was the point. Quite a number of guys similarly thought it amusing to do the same as I did.
We weren't going to pay $50 when the barber next door charged $12 which was bad enough as it was. You can buy a clipper kit for that and never pay for a hair cut again.
The last thing I saw was the hair dressing chain complaining that men wouldn't pay exploitative prices so they weren't going to do men's haircuts anymore.- s
Gendered wage gaps aren’t really a thing anymore (at least not in my country). The only reason why men can make more money here is that they statistically do more overtime and take on more hours than women in the same job. So I see no point in “man-tax” when the men who are making more money are putting in more time for that money.
No, but there could be separate menus for men and women with different portion sizes and therefore different prices. Men need to eat a lot more but resutarants give the exact portion sizes to both... causes women to over eat or waste food and men to be unsatisfied.
Is this for real? What State is doing this? It's very unconstitutional to say the least.
Male or female, I wouldn't even go into a business that practices that.
I hope that never catches on and other businesses start that practice!
Where are the looter's when you need them?I put no because this is complete bullshit. It is oppressive. It is tyrannical. It is inparting control over other people. It will push people out. It will make your country look gender-racist. Business owners will start closing shop and moving to other countries where people are treated fairly. I would feel oppressed as a women and treated unfairly and feel guilty that a business would be so biased. I wouldn't attend that store or buy anything. Men being taxed? Really? What a horrible idea!!!
It's stupid and it's false.
I know plenty of women that earn more than me, my mother included, yet if I were to walk into a store and have to pay more than my mother just because I'm a man, I won't do business there.
Things like this do not capture the truth, just because on average men earn more, that does not mean all men earn more. The teenager that works at Burger King or the grocery store did nothing to have to pay more, their wages are already low.
Notice how they all end up closing, for one, men will go elsewhere, so you've lost 50% of your customer base in one move. Two, no man in his right mind is going to shop from a place that is discriminating against him for things he cannot control.
This behaviour is disgusting and does nothing to actually acknowledge what the real issue is.The third "rule" listed on that blackboard sign is absolutely hilarious. They want to treat men as second-class citizens, as belonging to some kind of sexist Jim Crow dystopia, but then insist upon being respected for it. Wow. The utter cluelessness was strong with those "womyn".
I mean its offensive obviously but aslong as it isn't mandatory Im not particularly bothered, I just wouldn't shop there.
If a racist wanted to ban blacks from their shop that wouldn't bother me either and again i just wouldn't shop there.
Clearly it is in the worst possible taste etc but if thats how that shop keeper wants to run their business then that, to me, is literally 'their business'.
I would like to believe that a shop so obviously promoting such a hateful ideology would not be successful but I have no faith in people. What in the ever loving tarnation is this sexist bullshit... discrimination is not a great way to protest inequality.
… how ever if their goal is to eliminate male customers, I guess that was good plan. lolno. gender tax is bullshit. female hygiene products are just more expensive, cause they're better in quality and more specific. like you can't expect a high tech moisturizing cream shampoo to be as expensive as the 3 in one shampoo/soap men buy. quality comes for a price. if you want higher quality, you pay the price. easy as that. it's choice, so no reason to tax the other gender for your choice.
Nothing like something utterly sexist to fight sexism... like wut?
That's just bad marketing. They can just charge the women less by addressing it as a discount.
By putting 'Man-Tax' they're actually triggering the male crowd xD
(It is sexist but that's their strategy to maintain the gender ratio, can't say much about that)I’m sorry but this is a load of shit. I make just as much as my male counterparts in my job. Granted I am in the US so I’m honestly not sure if this applies to every country. But I just want to say no, this is total trash.
