There are a number of legal rights that women have that men do not, and when bitches mention that we make the rules.. Women have been able to vote for over 100 years don't give me that bullshit.

1. Women have the right to genital integrity
Regardless of how you personally feel about the practice of circumcision (I personally find it barbaric, cruel and completely unjustifiable), the legal fact is that infant girls are protected against any genital cutting of any kind and infant boys are not. Many feminists will argue that female genital mutilation (FGM) is a magnitude of brutality beyond male genital mutilation and while that may be true, I do not find the “it’s only a little bit brutal” argument to be very compelling. It’s like saying cutting off a toe is okay because cutting off a foot is much worse. Ultimately, the argument is immaterial to the fact that women have the legal right to be protected from having their body parts sliced off. Men do not.

It's very clearly men. Even in the past, all women had to worry about in life is surviving childbirth and not being raped by some scumbag (which is why they should always carry protection, like a blade).

In the modern day, most women don't even have any reasons to have depression, unlike the typical man. Men are seen as disposable in society and always have been, because women have wombs and therefore, are never put in any real danger, outside of said rape scenarios, because the survival of the human species depends on women being coddled and protected at all times.

Frankly, I get sick of women getting their asses kissed in modern 2020s society and then acting like they have it hard because they didn't get their way in something for once. Seriously this will never get settled by bunch of immature toddlers fighting on here. This is a thing which will never ever settle down unless all people in this world are mature and it isn't possible, is it?

I know society always gives the harsh side to men because of the extreme masculinity standards by the men in past. Seriously it's the time we start seeing both the gender equally. It is difficult because how do we change the society? We can change the society because we are society only. If feminists and men supporters don't change their way of thinking then nothing is going to happen.

Just like in past women fought for their independence, in present it's time for men to fight for equal rights too and not to privilege only one gender. AND also to reduce crimes from men side. As much tougher it is given to guys, it is because they commit a lot of crime too. It's completely unfair because not all men deserve to be treated like this only because of criminals.

This problem of gender inequality is deep rooted from past and I believe it won't stop soon too. Women are given soft side now because they fought for themselves in past. But now no one of that past is alive so no one deserves the soft spot and tough side. Why blame women for getting soft side? Did that particular women you are arguing with made this all? It is not her fault. Also why blame all men as bad guy? Not all men are criminals! Do you think it is easier for women to always get criticized for something they didn't even created or for all men to sustain what they don't even deserve?

Both the gender have their own problems and own pains. It is nothing to be proud of to be called the gender who suffers most so stop arguing on that. It is equally shameful as being the privileged one. It will be a proud thing only when that particular gender fights through it. And when the privileged one gives the suffering one support. I really don't understand why people want to prove who suffers the most when it's just a loss of dignity. Of course whatever I said doesn't applies to every individual. It applies to those who are gender biased and think that one is privileged than other. Dude as long as you make it a competition then one's rights are going to come at the expense of the others' rights.

For instance, the mentality that domestic violence is primarily a women's issue and that men are primarily perpetrators was one of the fallacies feminists held onto hardcore. So now when Johnny Depp wins a case against Amber Heard, suddenly "This will set back women's rights for ages". Yeah? It damn well didn't have to. Could have been flying flags and passing the "Domestic Violence Act" instead of the "Violence Against Women Act". Then the Depp/Heard trial wouldn't "set women's right back", it would have "been a great victory for stamping out domestic violence".

This was my issue with some of the men's rights groups when I was more active in them. I went from feminist groups who had absolutely nailed cultural Marxism, and then went to certain men's groups who were essentially trying to catch up.

Every one of the issues you present is legitimate and not taken nearly as seriously as women's issues. But your question pits the legitimacy of one set of issues AGAINST the legitimacy of another set of issues. Having taken my time to study both sides of the issues, trying to solve large gender issues with "patriarchy" or "gyno-centrism" is like fighting between "Your feet are pressing against the floor" vs "The floor is pressing against your feet."

Or better yet, it's like one person looking through a blue filter and saying "The world is blue!" and another looking through a pink filter and saying "No you asshole, the world is pink!"

Nearly every gender issue has an opposite gender counterpart, and they usually both cause each other in a self-reinforcing spiral. Similarly, almost everything that is sexist against women is also sexist against men, and vice versa.

So I don't have an issue with the content used by the question, just the false dichotomy the question represents.

Men definitely. Women just think it's equal, because they don't understand that it's expected that anything goes wrong, the man is expected to suffer and die for the woman, be it sinking ship or war. And that is rare, but it also plays out thousands of times over in the family court, when most wives leave their husbands. It doesn't matter what happen, it's his fault.

Women nearly always get off from most crimes and do far less jail time. Women have it easier in school and get scholarships easier and get the red carpet treatment into college. Women have cheaper insurance, and many men will help them do anything. No woman has ever been punished for her missed child support. Many men are in prison for missing there payments.

Some women push that pay gap crap. It's only a gap if you include all jobs and careers in the economy. But at company specific, women now make more money than their male coworkers doing the same job, and often work less hours because of their necessary family life issues. Most women do not work in hard and dangerous jobs.

Any woman can claim any kind of allegation and the man is guilty until proven innocent. If a man claims abuse or rape from a woman, the authorities laugh at him. If a woman hurts a man, calls the police, and he is covered in his blood and she is not even scratched, the guy goes to jail for that.

Women network with many other women and have support circles. Women keep a line of communication about what all their men talk about. Most men have some friends, but is on his own if anything goes wrong. He will not have many networks outside of family and few good friends. This is why suicide is so popular with guys. No one to turn to. And men lead by wide margin in suicide.

And then of course with dating, men have to make the first move, spend his money upfront, and has to contend with the idea that in many instances, his girlfriend has been around the block a few hundred times and is always nearly taking someone else's sloppy seconds as most guys have a limited sex life, and many women have had too much fun from 16-35. Some number well out of count. Many not even remembering how many one-night stands. Most women assume guys have the same level of partners and often wonder about guys who don't get around as lacking or not any status.

If I may make some comments, I can happily agree this is an interesting anecdotal inquisition, yet I think there is a lack of reference to solid studies, research and data/statistics. I also think there is an immense lack of conversation around other factors such as race, class, religion, country etc.

For instance when distinguishing between gender and race, do we say that white men have it better than black men and women yet worse than white women. Does that then mean black men have it worse than white men and women but better than black women? So are we saying that white women should be mindful of their privilege in regards to white men, black men and black women whilst white men should speak out about their burdens compared to white women and black women while being mindful of their privilege compared to black men and women, and then black men need to acknowledge their burdens in relation to white men and women and black women whilst acknowledging their privilege compared to white women and black women all the while black women are acknowledging their burdens relating to white men and women but admitting their the privilege in relation white men and black men?

This doesn’t account for every other person who doesn’t fall under the racial conversation of “white and black people”, or for wealthy men vs poor women. Large scale structural change needs to be made yes, men have rights yes, but generally speaking men, white men, have been served well by the system as a whole while other people have been actively harmed or at the very least unsupported.

By no means am I saying we should have this conversation, rather I’m suggesting let’s keep asking questions and researching, let’s not cut the conversation short by saying “Men have it worse than women”, let’s delve into the complexity of race, economy, societal norms and politics, systematic oppression, mental health, and dig deeper into how we can make changes that benefit those who need it the most. When we meet peoples human rights, we all benefit, but we have to know how to fight for humanity more than our own interests alone.

I have always thought men have it harder. In certain and rare situations men may have it just as hard but in general if you live a normal life in a safe country and no war ever breaks out then women do have it easy because if there’s a war there is the chance of genocidal rape and extreme cases of violence against both men and women so given you never face that, women will have it easy.

I can’t tell you how many times I have gotten away with things that a man would have gotten in big trouble for just because I am a girl. If you’re a girl and pretty on top of that then you get away with even more.

I have always felt sorry for men and being an elder sister I felt very protective over my younger brothers because of many reasons you listed.

Women just go through period pains and pain of giving birth. Yes women have a lot of mental stress and trauma due to societal expectations

But then there is also the case where if a woman get a bad spouse they can end up being abused and sometimes even killed but that can also happen to men too and men don’t report it as much as women do so the stats may be way higher than 1 in 6 men versus 1 in 4 women.

If I had another life I would not want to be born as a man. I could not handle being born as a man. I get a lot of privileges being a girl.

The struggles for men and women are different. Women are expected to be nurturing caregivers, no matter their personalities. Men, tough guys, no matter THEIR personalities.

Men still make more money than most women in the workplace, so in child custody cases women get money awards for child support. But today there are more 50/50 custodies, no matter who pays. If a man has a high-powered job that causes him to work 60-hour weeks, it IS likely the woman, who might have a more flexible schedule or not work outside the home, be awarded the children, with the dad getting weekends. This is unfortunate and disruptive for children and father. It embitters men, too.

But, the elephant in the room for men is testosterone. It is a wonderful little hormone that gives men washboard abs AND a love of violence to solve problems. Men would have fewer completed suicides if they didn't choose guns as weapons of choice to kill themselves. Most women who die in homicides are killed by husbands and male acquaintances, who just as often off themselves after their murders.

Men do have more mental illnesses: schizophrenia, alcoholism and drug addictions and bipolar disorder. But there is the connection between creativity and madness. Think of Van Gogh. Flash of brilliance, but too burdened by his demons to persevere.

Feminism isn't just about women: it's about giving freedom to men: masculinism. When men can be themselves, get and give the love and help they need, this will be a better world for men, women and children everywhere.

I say this because of personal experience
It can be different for others. Some care some don’t care , love is grown differently.

When my dad passed away my poor brother had to help me and my mother paying rent and SO much more… I was youngest one but still he was young too but he was the “man” of the house when my father died.. back then when we called other families to help us not ending into streets no one gave us not even 1 cent ! We only wanted a temporary help 1 week worth of food.
But my brother worked so hard it hurts my heart when I think of the past. He truly sacrifices so much.
Would have been the same if I had a bigger sister? I doubt it..
He wants to have his own family and a child etc so he wants to have a different bigger apartment now like it’s a never ending hard sacrifices for a man.

Generally, I'd say men do.

However, this assumes a reasonable upbringing, and no personal trauma. Women are more vulnerable to assault; so, if they are assaulted, and placed in a difficult situation it would be more difficult for them to extricate themselves from it than a man would- they also get pregnant, and if they are impregnated by irresponsible/ violent men, these women will have exceedingly hard lives- yea, society will provide aid, but it'll be far harder than the average man.

Now, admittedly, the average woman has far more privileges than the average man, is treated far better, afforded more opportunities (despite them dropping out of the workforce to have kids), forgiven for their misbehaviors (promiscuity, etc.), and can have a far easier life as long as she comes from a decent home, and makes decent choices in early adulthood, but again they are far more vulnerable, and this vulnerability makes a tiny subset of women have the most difficult lives, compared to a larger subset of men who have very difficult lives (homelessness, prison, etc.), and nearly all men who have to struggle more than the average woman.

I agree with a lot of what you're saying but does that mean I should just accept it if I'm raped because men have it worse. If plan B doesn't work to prevent a pregnancy from that rape that I need to just accept that injustice because men have it worse. Or should I just assume I can go outside in dangerous areas without a weapon because men are more likely to be a victim of a violent crime? Should I not feel sadness at homicide being the # 1 cause of death in pregnant women because men have it worse? Or feel sadness that every month an average of 70 women in the U. S are shot and killed by an intimate partner because men have it worse.

The truth is I feel bad about all of it, but I am a woman, so I can imagine those scenarios with women more just I'm sure you can imagine those scenarios that men are going through more. If one struggles more, you're right that sucks, but it's sure not something any one person can fix, they are larger systemic problems, sh*t happens and we need to do our best to move forward but recognize that some people will struggle more.

Pick up a book. Enough of this men vs. women bs. We are all human. Each persons struggle is their own. Quit masquerading your ego as insight because it isn’t. It takes two to tango? Yes the woman bears the child and I do agree because of that it’s important for her to be apart of the child life but if we are truly equal then who should have more say? Don’t place expectations on others if you can’t expect those same expectations from yourself. Learn your value and find someone who matches it.. Don’t have a kid unless you’ve healed your trauma before entering a relationship. Find a partner that’s done the same. Otherwise you’ll drag your child through your problems. If you resort to hate/ negativity when it comes to dealing with the other parent of your child you should’ve never had a child. It really depends on the individual and where they live. In the west, it might be close to equal between both sexes and really depend on the individual.

In a developing country, particularly patriarchal... Women usually don't have has much opportunity as men.

I won't deny that in the west, the law does seem to give harsher prison sentences to men for the same crime and in situations when it comes to custody battles, women are favored, as well as men are more likely seen to be perpetrators vs victims.

But its really dumb to hyper focus on the disadvantages that men go through culturally or by law and ignore what women go through and conclude that men have it worse.

For eons it has been for men to take that beating and keep it from the family. We are guardians and protectors. Women's lib and the woke generation can't change that core instinct.
It is also the reason men hide their struggles. We don't take that junk home where we cultivate a calm peaceful world. It is hard to balance sharing with caring.
But I can say witnessing child birth, that women have a special kind of unmatchable strength. Women can take a massive amount of physical and emotional pain. Maybe because they are linked so well, they show their emotions so well, and they accept help readily. Something I think we men can definitely use.

I have also experienced the horrors of the one sided custody injustice. That is absolutely horrible. Because children need their dads too.

Hm.

For most women there is some kind of network, be it either inside their private connections or from the government that softens the blow. So yes it can get very bad, but there is no bottomless pit. Yes women can't achieve it all like men can, having a family and career. But that is complaining against the top.

There is an epidemic of loneliness and lost causes around men that does not exist for the vast majority of women. For society, those men are invisible until they do some crazy shit. No help, no support, no even worse - ridicule and shame. And that's not some small amount of men, I would say around 20% of young men live like that at this moment.

So it's not some fringe problem - in fact I think it will bite our society in the ass if it's not addressed soon.

There is so much bias and misinformation on this post that I can't cut through it.
Although one thing I can say is that I am 100% against circumcision in childhood. It's brutal. No woman would normally agree to have something like that done to her child, if she had a choice or if she hadn't been brainwashed by the same people who think it necessary to take away women's rights.
As a woman today who has the right and means to be independent and free, I would fight against circumcision in childhood, except I am too busy and exhausted from raising my children without my partner's help and having to battle the world on just about everything, including the new crackdown on abortion. I just can't handle any more children. Sex is just too scary now. Contraception can fail.
But I will still do whatever I can to stop circumcision. It's just a plain stupid and atrocious thing to do to an infant without his knowledge or permission.

It's harder to be a woman if your sexist boss overlooks your contributions. It's harder to be a man if you lose your kids in a divorce. It's harder to be a woman if your government makes it illegal to even show your hair or have the same righte men do. It's harder to be a woman if you get preganant when you didn't want to.

We will never know for sure unless we live two lives (one as a man and one as a woman) with equal looks, abilities, background, etc. And no “trans” lives don’t count. But I read a statistic that there are three times as many men are transitioning to women than vice versa. If being a woman is so horrible than I wonder why they make that choice eh?

Anyway throughout my life there have been moments when I have been discriminated against for my race, my regional background, my hair color (I’m part red head), my political beliefs (this has increasingly gotten worse) and my spiritual beliefs. But the number one thing I have seen real discrimination for is without a doubt my gender i. e. being a man. Numbero uno.

When I hang out with my minority buddies this is one major common ground we all have: facing discrimination because we are men. Black, latino, Asian, middle eastern and white guys all notice this crap if we live in western society.

Both genders have their issues. No one's life is ideal.

But you clearly have some bias on this question. Do you know why men are more likely to be charged with sexual assault? To go to jail? To be the victim of a violent crime?
Could it be because we actually do way more crime than women do?

About courts, men win nearly half of all the custody battles they fight in. I say actually because most men don't even try to fight for custody if their kids. Statistically speaking of course.

It depends on many factors. Age country place situation.
Here in my country.. women are treated with least respect. Can't guarantee whether we get back to home safely when we go out. guys group together and plans to trap women. It really all depends on a lot of factors. You might be a woman who by nature doesn't have all the advantages of men in certain areas, but if you're attractive, wealthy, or both, you will do better than a man.

And on a flipside, you might be a man who isn't very attractive or famous, but be very smart, disciplined, and knows how to make money, and is better off than a woman of his same caliber or less. It really all depends on what you're getting out of life and how you live it.

Men are scolded for showing weakness or showing emotion. Also it's harder to get laid or get into a relationship. Everything you listed are results of these issues.

As a women you are judged more harshly for the way you talk, dress, look, behave. Your thought of as the weaker gender. Your expected to be in charge of birth control. You have menstruation, childbirth, menopause. Your more likely to be mistreated verbally, physically, sexually, by society and in relationships.
