The law was trash it was arbitrary and stupid. You have the right to defend yourself. New York is one of the deadliest cities in the United States. So you would want a counseled weapon in order to defend your self if attacked. States rights don't supercede the Bill of Rights. There is nothing in the Constitution that says you have a "right" to an abortion. There is an actual Ammendment that says you have a right to keep and bear arms. Can a state pass a law that limits your speech if you vote democrat?

Power not delegated by the Constitution. And "power" to bear arms is delegated by the Constitution - by the 2nd amendment. States can decide only things that are not in Constitution, so Xth amendment has no usage here.
