What is your opinion?
Do you think birth control 🎛️ material should be provided by the government in free of cost?
What is your opinion?
I strongly support easy, affordable access to birth control information and all contraceptive options. If the states and federal government actually gave a fuck about families and human health, they would fund clinics.
I can say, from personal experience, that in the 1970s there were local, easily accessible "free clinics" that provided full spectrum assistance, including information, testing for STDS and pregnancies, treatments, all contraceptive options, and even abortions. Girls could get "the pill" very easily and inexpensively. Condoms were free to those who wanted them.
I don't know why anyone would oppose that.
I only support it from a "it's cheaper this way than dealing with the ensuing problems later. I grit my teeth as I don't like having to pay for other peoples behavior. I guess if we can tax this..."out of control idiots"... and distribute some money back to me, then all is fair. I refuse to pay for their monkey pox or STD treatment outside of marriage. If they are stupid, then that's their problem to solve.
The cheapest is to... behave.
Do you think the citizens that pay for this stuff should be able to discipline those who are ultimately, causing them problems? That in essence... is the debate.
The same people that don't want their nickels and dimes going to free birth control are the same people that hate screaming babies and children in public: on a plane, at the movie theatre, or at non family restaurant, etc.
These people also worship a boob until a baby is latched onto it and then it becomes 'disgusting' and indecent.
I would definitely pay 20 cents now to be on an airplane with fewer screaming and kids because let's be real, that sucks for everyone.
The pill is free here ijnUK and the morning after pill is also free in wales. It's also possible to pick up free condoms in some places but they tend to be on the thick side. Teen pregnancy rates slightly across the UK but are generally lower than the USA despite us being more sexually active

How would it be free? Aren't there costs involved in manufacturing and distributing such things?
Is your question: Wouldn't it be great if somebody else would pay for my birth control pills and condoms for me?
Yes it should.
people who are complaining about “oh it’s my taxes”, consider this.
if 10 women, girls don’t have birth control and have sex and become pregnant, those “oh my taxes” are going to be going towards the care system, care homes etc.
The people hit the most by all this are the more social deprived in society, it almost becomes a perpetuating cycle, with lack of education, lack of decent job means poverty, which invariably means more unwanted kids, who then fail at school etc.
This pretty much results in a rise in those living in social deprivation, the poor, an increase in the socially deprived population.
which results in more crime, need for more police, more shootings etc.
All for not providing free at point of use contraception.
Maybe people should start to have less sex that would be the cheapest way and it would make people actually be interested in one another how about that?
It would increase chances that guys are willing to commit because in the modern days many sleep around because they can and feel like they should to be sexual experienced.
I don´t see a reason why people talk so much about free birth control if they won´t use it anyways.
It´s just an excuse to have more sex with no consequences wondering why everybody has a trauma and feels used but not acknowledged.
Forget about the comment it's too narrow minded it's just wrong. Thinking about it again I would encourage that or at least make it more normal also for guys to use contraception especially if they are not interested in having a child.
Because it needs two to get a woman pregnant it should also be the job of both to prevent it.
So you can buy makeup, cologne, jewelry, dresses, expensive haircuts, expensive shoes, and an Uber ride? And possibly alcohol as well? ... But not birth control?
I call Bullshit on all of that.
Do you people not realize how much money people spend on just trying to GET someone to fuck them?
And yet birth control is just "too much"?
You "can't afford it?"
Get the fuck outta here.
👏👏👏
@Brainsbeforebeauty Thank you!
Thank you for speaking real truth👍
A lot of insurance companies cover the cost of the birth control pills. Just go to the doctor and get a prescription for them. Case closed
The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, which is tasked with analysis of any bill on government expenditures, has determined that free access to birth control (at least within the affordable care act) would result in less overall expense by the government. So, it makes financial sense, and if you care about limiting the national debt and inflation, you should actually support free access to birth control.
Nope it's better to buy , as when ever something is available free for public , people take it for granted , when it's taken for granted its misuse is greater than used properly , regarding feeling awkward one can buy online or even in supermarkets with other goodies.
It would be tax payer funded so it wouldn't be free. That is one of the main reasons why I oppose it. But the main reason I oppose it is that I won't really change much. Because plenty of people would still be stupid about sex. Even if you had one of these vending machines on every city block there would still be plenty of idiots that wouldn't use birth control. There would still be plenty of stupid men and women that think the pull out method is the only birth control they need.
No that’s dumb😭 birth control is a commodity just like everything else. Nobody is forcing people to have sex it’s a choice so you have the choice to buy birth control of not. Plus higher taxes would suck. I do think tampons should be free tho I think that’s worth more taxes.
Don't be a stupid Indian.
It's not up to the government to manage peoples sexual behaviours.
You are working, thinking adults. Manage your own pussies and what goes on with them. You want female rights, but not the responsibilities and consequences that come with them?
Joke is on you,.
Many methods of contraception are already being provided for free in India. I think it's good because many people are poor and they don't have an excuse now. Hopefully it will lower the birth rate so that overpopulation can be controlled which is the biggest problem of India. It has led to the scarcity of resources.
I really am against the government getting into people's lives like that but I suppose it would prevent a lot of future welfare recipients from bleeding the taxpayers dry.
Duh thats a no fucking brainer! Healthcare and education and housing should also be free of cost as well! but since america is a 3rd world backward backwater uncivilized country with no public transportation its not surprising they dont have any of those things.
I disagree completely, because some people have very strong religious views against certain contraceptives and we should not make them pay for it. Plus I think the government does not have a vested interest in providing these, it's just people like things being free. So if we can use the government to make us get free thing then it feels nice.
Yes, absolutely. With Roe vs. Wade overturned it's more essential now than ever.
I mean I'm pro-choice but if I have to pay to have sex why shouldn't you?
In the UK it's about £25.
I think that if states put any level of regulation on abortion that they should be required to provide birth control pills to both males (they'd have to develop it I think) and females as well as make available 5 condoms per day to every person regardless of age.
To be perfectly honest I think that open birthcontrol, should be available to both girls and guys equivalently, In other worlds between age, race or discrimination. I am only here with age of consent personally of 18, I don't know what other countries offer at this time, Ie arranged marriages which Absolutely revolt me in underage situations. I don't mean to upset you personally in anyway shape or form.
Nothing is free, and I think it should be free but not by the tax payers, ask for volunteers to fund it.
If enough people support it, they should volunteer to fund it.
@H8INCHES Works for me.
Why should the government, correction... tax payers pay for people's birth control, if they can't afford their own maybe just don't have sex then🤷🏼♀️
Will that actually work? Sex is something that is instinctive and natural to us. I really don't think people will be able to or are able to curb those needs within themselves for a prolonged period of time.
@The_Shadow_Dweller than they can practice safe sex and be responsible for it themselves
@Brainsbeforebeauty why should the government or tax payers pay for anything then? why pay for public parks or roads or water or even a military? we might as well all go back to living in the jungle as uncivilized monkies dont you think?
@vald9inches are you really comparing spending money on the military to providing free contraceptives wtf and planned Parenthood already does that and don't they get government funding?
And still people are too irresponsible to use even when they're free🤷🏼♀️
Yes, but they should be providing sanitary products such as tampons, pads, etc first.
Women CAN refuse sex - believe it or not. They can't stop menstruations.
The 10c method always works, and it’s reusable and environmentally friendly: whenever you are in a situation where you might have sex, hold a 10c coin between your knees until the situation has passed. It works for men and women equally well.
