SCOTUS, Is it time for a change?

It's generally said that The Law is about 20 years behind Society and the times. The present Supreme Court Of The United States (SCOTUS) is comprised of 7 men and 2 women, who are 5 Whites, 2 Jews, 1 Black, and 1 Hispanic.

According to the US Census Bureau America in 2050 will be 47% White, 29% Hispanic, 13% Black and 11% Asian. According to the US Census Bureau America is 49% Christian, 23% Catholic, 2% Jewish, 23% atheist.

So where are the Asians, women and atheists; they're NOT or UNDER represented! By my estimate, there needs to be at least one more woman, one Asian and at least 2 atheists!

Is SCOTUS ok as is? Is SCOTUS imbalanced and out of touch with reality? What are your thoughts?

It's not a popularity contest. The judges are selected, as I understand it, based upon something that's actually important; their qualifications. Why should anyone care if "only" one of them is a woman, or there are no atheists? Such considerations are, and should be, entirely irrelevant.

No, it hasn't. Even if that were the case, you don't seem to understand that judges are meant to be impartial and fair, to put personal considerations aside in every instance, and to ignore emotion. The ones who make it to the top have demonstrated their abilities, and if it's true justice you care about, you would NEVER suggest something as horrendous as you have here!

BUT it is a fact that has been demonstrated over and over that judges are human, and no matter how honorable their intentions, they have their failings.
