This is bad but what if Donald admitted he lost the 2020 election and sincerely apologized for spreading lies that led to horrible violence? Would you give him a second chance? As screwed up as it sounds I found myself starting to hope for something like a serious massive natural disaster or another kind of massive negative event. Simply because it seems like the only thing that causes people on both sides are able to put their bs aside and come together on a basic human level is when things really hit the fan. Apparently Covid was not big enough to get people to see this. So why the hell not hope for something worse to force people to see that this is one of many ugly truths people choose to ignore? It would also be nice to have a break from people on both the left and right fighting each other like two toddles fighting over the same toy.

What does he have to apologize for? Getting slandered by a fake investigation from a group of liars? Anyone with half a brain would know that even if Trump wanted to grab the steering wheel to the Presidential SUV it is physically impossible to do it from the back seat.

In hindsight, what happened on Jan 6 2021 wasn't a smart thing to do. But Trump fully believed that he won the election, especially after taking Florida, which had voted for the winning candidate in the previous 6 elections. And, his advisor (s) told Trump that what they were trying to do on Jan 6 (i. e.-change the electoral vote) was justified by the Constitution, previous laws and precedents. It turns out that advice was totally wrong.

Hopefully, what comes out of the Jan 6 investigations is not a witch hunt and punishment, but an understanding of how to make the overall election system better.
