A 27-year-old transient suspected of killing NASCAR driver Bobby East at an Orange County gas station has been shot and killed by Westminster police.

East, 37, was filling up his tank at around 5:45 p. m. Wednesday at the 76 station at 6322 Westminster Blvd. He apparently had words with Trent William Millsap, a transient known to frequent Westminster, Garden Grove and Anaheim, according to Sgt. Eddie Esqueda of the Westminster Police Department.

Millsap allegedly stabbed East in the chest. Officers were sent to the gas station at 5:51 p. m. and East was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Westminster police received information Friday that Millsap was in an apartment in the 3300 block of Lincoln Avenue in Anaheim, said Commander Kevin MacCormick of the WPD.

A SWAT team was sent to the location and during the service of a search warrant, a shooting involving police and the suspect occurred, leaving a police dog with a single gunshot wound, which was considered non-life-threatening, MacCormick said.

No. I don't always know the situation or what is factual or not. I'll say that if it's a convicted rapist or pedophile/molester. But not for a killer unless proven he was a remorseless monster.

I just read the story. In this case, I think this one guy got what he deserved. Cause Millsap was killed.

And you seem to REALLY hate tattooed people. Personal trauma or what?

I don't hate the people, just tattoos in general. Although a few small ones are not that big a deal. It's when they have their whole body covered with trashy looking tattoos that have no meaning except to satiate an addiction/obsession for getting tattoos. You wonder what they do when they are covered head to toe and can't get anymore.

It’s not that simple. Allowing cops to act as judge, jury and executioner means more people who are not guilty will die outside of the benefit of due process. That’s not a good thing, and it’s an inevitability of allowing cops to murder someone we might otherwise even collectively perceive as “bad”.

Whenever I hear of a killer being killed, I think to myself, well, there's nothin' I can do about it. My second thought is I'm glad he won't be able to kill or hurt anyone else.

ONLY and only IF there is indisputable evidence that the killer is actually a killer, such as plain as the Will Smith slap.

Something that obvious, not just police saying they are a suspect and the evidence isn't that blatant.

Yeah of course I do.
We tend to go into all this legal BS when something happens allowing for a crafty lawyer to help someone get away with murder.
So when a killer resists arrest and grts killed it's less of a chore on everyone to decide to end his life anyway be it in prison or on the electric chair

I do not like to see anyone killed.

That said, deadly force- or threat of deadly force- can and should be met with deadly force.

I will not cry if an attacker using deadly force of any kind is killed in an exchange of force.

And quite bluntly, tens of millions of dollars will most likely be saved by not requiring the housing, prosecution, and dealing with dozens of baseless appeals on behalf of the "alleged" murderer.

Actually, even though I'm pro-life and therefore oppose the death penalty, I have to admit I don't get at all upset when a killer is killed. Some might see that as a double-standard, but I don't care. :)

Yeah, I end up thinking that most of the time when I hear about someone getting gunned down on tv. I always mourn the person's death, but I tend to hold my judgments until I hear all the facts. There's usually a pretty solid reason for police to do the things they do.

When I hear of killers getting killed, I laugh. I love seeing security camera footage of armed robbers getting gunned down by store owners, home owners, not just by police. Yes, good riddance. "You stupid fuck. Just look at you now."

I don’t rejoice in anyone killing anyone. But if the police kill a threat, or a bystander takes out an active shooter (like in Indianapolis yesterday), I don’t lose any sleep.

In theory yes, but there‘s a reason trials are a thing. If police kills someone who hasn‘t been convicted that‘s not acceptable.

For legal purposes in most- if not all jurisdictions- a police dog IS a police officer, not just a pet going along for the ride: any charge that would be made for killing/attempting to kill a canine police office would be the SAME as the same offense against a human police officer.

We don't know if he was guilty. But of course the police are allowed to defend themselves against an armed assailant.
