Isn't it true that beween1662 and 1807 Britain purchased 3 million African slaves? And that March 2, 1807, the U. S. Congress voted to outlaw slave trade. It was only after that act of Congress that you stopped trading slaves. When it was no longer profitable. Isn't that right?

The everyday person had no rights nor power over any aspect of this practice, and therefore should not pay the price. As others have said, the common person disapproved and protested in the ways they could at the time.
