Is it a wise decision by Nancy Pelosi to visit Taiwan amid the high tensions between China and Twain?

Her being there has no bearing whatsoever on much of anything. As house speaker, her role in foreign affairs is non-existent, and this is entirely a publicity stunt to make the current administration look tough. Everything about it from support to criticism is basically theater. At face value it's a good gesture because it's in the US and it's allies' best interests to keep China out of Taiwan, and has much greater reason to do so with military force if necessary compared to the Ukraine war. China knows this, and they have more to lose than gain by shooting down Pelosi's plane or directly interfering in any way.

What it's actually doing is giving the Chicoms an excuse to surround Taiwan with a blockade, which they are euphemistically calling "naval exercises" in hopes that Taiwan will capitulate. Like always though, there's more to this story than what's presented at face value.

Right now the US is (rightfully) attempting to rapidly develop chip production industries, ostensibly for its own economic and security interests. The problem though, is while we can make our own assembly lines and cut the Taiwan dependence out of the picture, the minerals needed for production as well as the territory where most known large deposits are located are controlled either directly or indirectly by China, and the environmentalist lobby (heavily funded by China, among others) has aggressively ensured that we can't extract any ourselves and missed our opportunities to develop and trade with African and Middle Eastern nations for them. So at the end of the day, we are being steered towards a route that benefits China regardless, which means an attack would be the dumbest thing they could do since it could throw a wrench in their near-total control of a vital market.

Our current official policy is that Taiwan is part of China and that the USG has no official contacts with Taiwan. If we want to change this policy, we should say so. What Pelosi and the USG is doing is trying to have it both ways. The CCP, for better or worse, is not stupid and will not allow this to go without consequences.

I am 100% sure of it. The policy was formally adopted in the 1970s and the US still claims to adhere to it. Also, Taiwan is only recognized as sovereign by a small handful of nations (not the US), is not in the UN as a member state, and has not declared independence from mainland China. China has made clear that if the US recognizes Taiwan as an independent nation or if Taiwan declares independence there will be war.

As far as Taiwan’s freedom goes Taiwan is an independent country in my opinion and we should to do everything in our power to make sure Taiwan continues to be an independent country this one child policy is stupid unless the one child policy is Taiwan is the only China that should exist. Or the United States should cut all trade with China and Taiwan because we should not be supporting a communistic dictatorial regime. I really don’t care if prices go up. I encourage my new facuring in South America because of lease South Americans have jobs and they’re not trying to cross the United States border illegally nothing against people from South America or Central America there economy needs to be boosted and United States of course is the super power that can provide for those countries. The reason why I basically side with Taiwan: Mainland China -the way I see it- wants Taiwan for territorial reasons. Their fishing waters will be greatly extended; and they DO need extra food - they even loot South American waters already. They also molest their neighbours, specifically the Phillippines and Malaysia. Through the backdoor they buy into foreign economies with their belt-and-road idea; and they rarely keep their promises about it.
I had a trade offer from China recently, and I had declined; explaining my various reasons.
With the help of local corrupted ‘politicians’ China also had invested in my own region. With the result that struggling local small enterprises were wiped off the scene.
Whenever I make a purchase, I’ll look out for non-Chinese options. I do buy all kinds of stuff from local producers, at prices that aren’t significantly higher.

Now as for a ’world police’ - As much as we don’t want China or Russia only to make the rules... ’we’ others also are suspicious about the U. S. - isn’t it a fact that where ever the U. S. intervened earlier, they as well secured their own advantages wherever they could? ’Police Force’’ should pursue the interest of ALL; not just a fraction; and that’s why I’d like to see it in the hands of a group of nations. The UN -admitted- are just a babbling club. We could replace them with something better.
