Which would you believe?

You know nobody involved personally.

A person is all over media for saying they have an opinion they currently are said to hold and have held consistently for a decade.

But they are also on video dated years ago saying they renounce that opinion and have for some time, but nobody cares and nobody will cover it.

Which will you generally believe, or which do you think is more logical to believe?

What the person/video of the person says they believe

What media says the person believes

I don't believe either, I'll challenge their beliefs and see how they do when faced with the task of defending their beliefs.

I find that 70% of people can't provide any defense for their beliefs aside from repeating dumb things that other useful idiots say. It's worst among the left, I have yet to hear a single leftist provide anything close to a defense for their absolute insane beliefs.

Aside from some of them flat out admitting that they want to bring as much famine, lawlessness, poverty, and destruction to society as possible. I can almost respect their honesty on those takes if it wasn't so evil

Media outlets have the tendency to blow a whole bunch of shit out of proportion and falsify the facts... so to speak. But at the same time it would depend on the person's past history of whether or not they've spoken bullshit or the truth, and not to mention their reputation. I think generally in most situations though I would trust the person's words over the media's. The media can over analyze everything for clout and attention or they can take an objective stance on it, and usually they do the former

In this case they are not saying "I didn't mean it that way", but rather "I did think that and then realized that I was incorrect". Also it is not a politician.

well... then it would depend on how much effort they spent and how much time they went on, with the spreading of falsehood...

lets say for example, they were repeating and claiming a falsehood for five years straight, over and over... in political campaigns so everyone all over the country and perhaps the world, heard it and believed it because he had such a platform

and once he realizes he is wrong... he will give one, simple, rectifying statement " now I realize I was incorrect" but he only said it once at an interview or posted as his website somewhere, but he clearly, did not spend five years trying to clarify and rectify the false claims he held for so long...

the media and the public would make it about that, and because of that...

me, I would still not believe anything of what this person said, politician, celebrity or whoever it was that the media cares so much
