What does the parable of Lazarus and the rich man mean?

What is moral story? What does it teaches us?

That's not a parable as Jesus is actually using someone who actually lived in a man named Lazarus and a rich man.

The point of the story Jesus is telling, the rich man ignored Lazarus who had fallen on hard times and was badly sick and who was near the rich man's house yet the rich man didn't have compassion on Lazarus to at least get him help.

The rich man's Indifference and cold heart he had towards the needy led him going to hell as he was evil and had a evil heart.

Moreover, Jesus teaching once a person dies their spirit goes either into the presence of God or a portion hell (holding place) waiting the resurrection of their bodies to be judged.

The rich man wasn’t blessed with riches because God approved of him. The poor man (Lazarus) wasn’t being punished by God for being poor. One was a better steward with what they had whether it was a lot or a little. In the rich man’s case, he had the means to help people less fortunate or sick. Lazarus lived at the rich man’s gate and the rich man passed by him everyday until they both died. The rich man never once helped him and was more than able to feed and clothe and house him. Lazarus did keep God’s commandments and was obedient but was still poor while the rich man misused his gifts using them only for himself and hating his neighbor.

It means you should never celebrate your advantage over others but have to try to raise them to your living comforts by doing kindness to close the gap
