Your phrasing is actually misleading. Adoption is legal in Florida, no? Her legal guardian is sane of mind and can contact adoption agencies and family law offices to find a family that wants to adopt and is willing to pay her medical bills and cost of living, no?

If the case is rape, theeen why doesn't the article mention that? We would hold a 16 year old boy accountable to be a father, so it's time for equality. She can either carry the child to term (barring some medical condition threatening her life) and either choose to be a parent or get busy contacting adoption agencies so the kid can have a life.

Equality. It's amazing isn't it? It means women can now be held to be as responsible as men.

That said nobody should shove a child down a 16-year-old’s throat and nobody should force a 16-year-old to give up their child
Naturally there are exceptions when it comes to making someone give up their child for example if the 16-year-old is Mentally ill or has other forms of problems then yeah they probably shouldn’t have anything to do with a kid

Wait! So she’s too immature to go get an outpatient procedure done that takes up a small portion of her day. But is deemed mature enough to commit to 9 months of doctors appointment, daily vitamins and potentially life long changes to her body. Not to mention simply preparing for the new baby, or going through whatever it takes to give your baby up. I’m sure that’s a process in and of itself.
I never understood the thinking of people who want to force women to have babies. They have already shown they are irresponsible by the unexpected pregnancy to begin with. The solution to that is to make them responsible for another life?

Ask her what she wants. Minor or not, she's a human being and she's capable of making her own decision. An unwanted child can ruin her whole life, in this case. A young person that age having a child needs a strong support system. Without a family, that won't be in place. Where is she going to get that?

A minor normally should not be making decisions about an abortion or childbearing without familial input, but if there is no family or the family is really messed up, she should be able to decide on her own.

What I mean by not being pro life or pro choice. I strongly dislike abortion, I hate it.. But I would rather it be safe and legal, than not. It's why as a Kansas republican I voted to keep it legal where I am.

She should, that Florida case was in Escambia County, that includes Pensacola and the panhandle is quite conservative. It wouldn't surprise me too much the guardian might not have signed the waiver, even though she should have considering the circumstances the girl is in.
