No, since telecommunication companies usually have a "lock" in rural areas that prevent other companies from building cables or "operating" in certain areas.

I've seen it happen with companies like "wild blue" and other sat internet companies back in the day when Comcast was trying to build in certain rural areas.

Internet and banking have become borderline NEEDED to operate in this day and age. You might as well cancel somebody's water, gas, and electric company contract while you are at it.

It is not the bank's job to regulate the speech of it's clients, that is the local police's job if that person is breaking an actual law (It isn't even the bank's job to regulate income, as that is the IRS's role).

It also isn't a telecommunication company's job to regulate speech by it's clients, that is website owners and other internet based authorities.

I do not think such a decision should be left in the hands of one company alone. Since such a decision may have a profound impact on an individuals rights and freedoms any attempt to shutdown an individuals account should be subject to approval by an industry-governing body or tribunal. If said body approves such an account termination, then any further appeal and final decision would have to be heard in a court of law.
