Is it Bad that I Despise People Who Misspell, Misprounounce, and/or Butcher My Name?

I am asking this question because I find dealing with people getting my name wrong to be annoying. All else equal, I'd rather have minimal interaction with those who get my name wrong.

It's a common reaction so you're not strange, but me personally, I don't care if people say my name wrong. They might have an accent, a bad memory, limited familiarity with people from my culture, or have too many other things to worry about when they talk to me.

I’d say despise is an overreaction, especially if the name is uncommon. You ought to hear how many ways my name gets pronounced and spelled. It doesn’t bother me. Just politely make the correction.

Just do what I do. Use a fake name. That way it’s easier to say for people and you can deny everything if you’re ever a suspect.

Yes and no.

Yes- people do the same for my name and gender but seeing as the latter is more mistaken, i've grown numb to it. I'll correct them on my name but that's about it.

No- if they can't say it right and you've gave them instructions or you've told them how to say it, yeah, i get it. And would be getting annoyed as well. Bit of a slippery slope here but it all matters how you take it i suppose

Depends what you're named. Joe or Mike should be fairly easy. I personally hate when someone called Huliandro Perreezz Magdaleno Andradděē somehow thinks it's ok to be pissed if I make a typo (I'm blonde - sorry)
