My understanding of Ambivalence derives from this definition: "The meaning of AMBIVALENCE is simultaneous and contradictory attitudes or feelings (such as attraction and repulsion) toward an object, person, or action."

Both words have the same Latin root ambi, which means opposites. Ambiguity is the inability to differentiate between two things, while Ambivalence is the inability to choose between two courses of action.

I think ambiguity means something that is neutral or hard to understand, as there could be more than one meaning taken from it. Ambivalent means uncertain, as in feelings. Ambiguity relates to objects like emails that are difficult to understand but that there is intended to be only one meaning, weras ambivalence is someone that has mixed feelings about something.
