Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI'm proud of raising my brother. My parents couldn't do it properly because of their divorce. I taught him how to cook, do his laundry, deal with situations when he got in trouble, stay out of trouble, get into just the right amount of trouble 😂
I watched him start doing a lot of similar stuff to what I was doing and I taught him how to tell who his real friends are and to not let that stop him from networking with everyone.
It was all the stuff nobody told me unless I asked or found out for myself. He's like a better version of me. He's actually better than that, he's his own man. He's awesome.

Taking my pain of childhood/ break ups and turning myself into a unite. Doing so has transformed all other aspects of my life. If I hadn't started on this road, I surely wouldn't have made it.

And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me

Even i am natty man but i dont work. But damn man u pack some size. And i am assuming u do a job mentaining such bod is really sign of discipline respect man.
I'm not sure. I could say in December 2020, I was technically homeless and without a job here in a foreign county where I can't speak the language and living in a filthy hostel in Seoul, and by February 2021, had a nice job and apartment, and by June 2022, had $10,000 in savings. But I'm not "proud" of that or anything; I've always been a survivor and put in sh*tty situations like that, so it's nothing new to me.

I spent seven weeks living in this tiny hostel room while between jobs. Seven weeks! 10 Reply22 years of active duty in the U. S. Navy. 23 years of marriage. Four kids, two of whom are adults and all of them are thoughtful and kind and wicked smart. (so, yeah, my wife is largely responsible for the kids turning out well, but I'll sneak them onto this list.)

Being there to help mom in her last days while my ex-sisters couldn't wait for her to die!! Refusing to use her money to go shopping while my ex-sisters ripped her off left & right!! (I'd tell her I'm going to the store and she'd INSIST I take a $20 from her purse so, just to keep from arguing, I'd take the $20 but only use MY money and, when I'd take her to the bathroom after I got back, I'd sneak the $20 back into her purse!) Having helped 5 people write their books. Saving the lives of a few people. Just the many numerous, various nice things I do for others, even total strangers.

I'll be the first one to admit that statistically speaking on average you'll make more with a college education at every point in life than without one. And given the many sacrifices my parents made for me I always felt bad that I didn't complete college. But I had to be true to myself. Not someone else vision for my future. So I'm glad it's worked out.

+1 yBeing a mother is my greatest accomplishment. It sounds cliché, but rasing kids is no joke or for the faint. I wouldn't trade it, though.
112 Reply- +1 y
@DoctoSex you make a great point. I'd say that the original opinion and the sensationalism is warranted because (at least in America where I am) raising kids is too often (mostly) unacknowledged. Taken for granted. And while I'm not suggesting there should be ticker tape parades, there should be more acknowledgement. Raising kids is hard, grueling, and perhaps most important, a 24/7 kind of job. Doctors and attorneys (as just two examples) get lauded for their long hours. We take raising kids (and more typically motherhood) for granted. Doing it successfully takes unique talents that if harnessed in a workplace would make that employee the best employee of the business. It is an accomplishment and should be acknowledged as such.
- +1 y
@SnowedIn you explained it beautifully.
Raising kids and raising good kids that are positive impacts to our society and world are two completely different things, as well. - +1 y
@SnowedIn great points as well. I believe to some extent I do grow frustrated with hearing this mantra from women.. forgive me for my outburst. I'm just sick and tired of women patting themselves on the back for things animals with limited intelligence do.
If the debate is about productive children, Single fathers statistically produce more productive/balanced children.
Over 90% of prison inmates come from single mother households.
Raising children isn't hard per se. Raising children as a woman seems to be the problem and it vexes me why women get first dibs to children in divorce proceedings. It's perverse.
It's not that the handing over to women bothers me. Its the degradation of society and the theft and corruption of innocent children that vexes me. - +1 y
@DoctorSex no sensationalism intended. Proud of bringing my kids into the world and the effort I put in daily to ensure growing not just people, but those with conscious moral thinking who are kind, dependable, honest, and have integrity. People who are not just here in the world, taking space, but who enhance it and give back to it in a positive way. I think having kids and seeing them to adulthood vs raising them proper are two different things. I am currently raising a teenage girl and three boys 6 and under 🙂. And no harshness taken! Thanks for the reply!

@curlyfirecracker
Thank you for your spirited response. Is their father in the picture? - +1 y
Just to clarify! I do not pat myself on the back. It is hard, but wouldn't trade it (was my main point intended, might have been misunderstood). They are my greatest accomplishment, not because I think I am the best mother, but because they are my legacy. I make a point to put forth every effort to help them become they best they can be and positive impacts to the world That is what I am proud of.
On another note, I have the absolute best stepfather, he had his two kids taken from him because the judge saw it fit for them to be with their mother. He is a phenomenal guy and who I hold great admiration for. The mother was a junkie and should not have been given that right. These girls were taken from him, after living with him for 3 years, because she wanted child support from him and simply to win. Not proving anything, more saying I agree. Women should not be patted on the back just because they are a mother. - +1 y
Yes, my husband and I have been together 13 years and he is an amazing father and husband. I am thankful and grateful for him in every way. 😊

Thank you for clarifying, it's helped subside some of my frustrations. I am not a father yet but often men go as unsung heroes and the praise piled onto mother's.
A good father's input is spiritual, it's often unseen and unheard by women who judge men by their monetary value.
Thank you again. - +1 y
@DoctorSex I love my dad like… more so than my mom
And I love men
But I hate your comment and it was annoying to read.
Why do you care about these other women? Either speak up and motivate your fellow brethren or be a great dad and prove something
Do what you gotta do, but don’t hate on mother’s. Don’t hate on anyone damn it 😂
Everybody is crappy in this world or another way is that the best people have their crappy sides too. Their crappy moments if anything.

Feel free to rant, correct me, or move on
But I liked her comment and snowed ins reply. I’m happy for them and parents who do try, yes.
