What do you think about the political situation in the UK after Liz Truss has resigned?

The UK will now have to have its 5th Prime Minister in 6 years.
The Conservative party has held power since 2010 but since 2016 now 4 prime ministers have resigned for various reasons.

David Cameron resigned in 2016 because he was against the UK leaving the EU and Brexit passing was seen as a failure.

Theresa May resigned in 2019 because the party saw her as unable to win the next election and unable to negotiate an exit deal with the EU.

Boris Johnson resigned a few months ago because of a scandal involving one of his ministers.

And after 44 days Liz Truss resigned after her unpopular tax plan failed.

To me it's just weird. Americans have this stereotype of UK people being overall more intelligent than us. And yet they fall for the same right wing disinformation that our dumbest people do. Based on my understanding, all Liz did was carry out exactly the promises that she was elected for making. And it resulted in disaster. Just as Brexit did. Just as everyone who didn't want to fall for right wing misinformation predicted. What is this obsession with people predicting demise and then other people rushing to vote for it?

Cameron was super left wing for someone who belongs to "Conservative Party" and got upset that British people decided to leave EU.

Theresa May - I guess they didn't consider her a strong leader

Boris - he was as populist as you can be in Great Britain, but his toxic rhetoric sank him.

Truss - I believe when you have economical crisis because of war in Ukraine, plus you still struggle with setting everything after Brexit (which is a big change, so it would take some time for everythign to stabilise) then cutting taxes for the richest is pretty dumb. Like: you should be more pragmatist.

The last competent leader Great Britain had was Thatcher. And they are surprised nowadays this country means such little compared to how it used to look like in the past.

The Conservative party is better then the Labor party but they don’t seem too conservative.

Conservative Party in Great Britain is not conservative. On world-view issues all of their positions (except for Brexit) are left wing, and not even all of them support Brexit - like Cameron

Cameron would be a really nice Democrat in USA

Well, back in the days that name was accurate, even in Thatcher times, but since Cameron became a prime minister they moved very much to the left. English say Boris is right wing but well, he is as right wing as you can be in UK.

You don't really have one in France too, unless you count Zeymour. Le Pen modereted her views in last election (for example: kicking candidates that were anti-abortion from her party).

I don't really believe any politicians believe in their views. They are just preagmatists that say what would make them elected.

Le Pen got a chance to become more "electable" as someone further to the right of her emerged (Zeymour). So she wasn;t seen as such extreme anymore. Zeymour was the extremist one

It's not like in Poland, where we have a congressman Grzegorz Braun that wants to formally introduce Jesus Christ as a king of Poland and his party is called "God bless you" :D

Well, he got elected because a few right-wing parties formed a confederacy (called "Konfederacja" well) and run together. And he was starting in Rzeszów which is the most conservative region in Poland. PiS always wins 70% there.

And yeah - Braun is considered the most extreme there

I would say in overall people in Western Europe don't like to vote right. Austria and Italy are the exception
