I don't think any country who has free health care pay 50% tax. Its kinda sad, I probably payed less in taxes all my life for free health care than the average American is taxed for not having free health care. Also noticed your property tax is just bonkers. My father for example maybe pay between $100-200 year for a property tax, but had he lived in the states this would have most likely been close to $10.000. Then he would go bankrupt and live on the streets.

Like I genuinely thought my country was bad, who have been notorious for being among the most expensive countries in the world for decades already. But if you pile it all together, in the states you pay 100 times more for 100 times less. Like rent for example too. I never payed more than $400-500 for rent, in the states it seems like a $1000 is more common or higher. You can't afford to live alone even.

Here we have something that could translate to the Right to live. If you don't have a job, can't get a job etc. You can still have a home, the government will pay for the rent and the electricity. In the states people even have to stick with each other in abusive or horrible living conditions cause you can't afford to live on your own. You are just royally screwed from all angles. Somehow too, they manage to convince so many of their own people that having it better, is bad. You are supposed to work 3 jobs, suffer and die. "Cause land of the free". It's tragic and sad. Feel so sorry for people who are born in the states. Brainwashed from birth, taught to fight each other, sue each other, "Left vs Right". It's honestly modern slavery. Or advanced slavery. Keep their people fighting each other, rather than the system.

As it stands right now 2/3 of all medical costs go to the government. Government jobs don't necessarily pay well but get benefits like healthcare. Third party for profit insurance companie is taken a cut of our taxes greater then any single payer healthcare system.

In reality a single payer healthcare systems, every individual would pay equal to if not less then their employers healthcare insurance. Most prominent in government payed jobs.

As our current healthcare system is right now, is completely ass backwards. Ethnicity you can't turn people away from the ER because of Ronald Reagan (EMTALA). The ER for impoverished is the only healthcare gets extremely expensive.

Single Payer healthcare system will reduce in total tax burdens for everyone.

I am against government healthcare, simply because sooner or later to cut expenses, they'll do things like, outlaw smoking, outlaw weed, outlaw fatty foods, all in the name of saving tax payer dollars. Other countries are already doing that.

At the same time, there is often problems with it, waiting lists and lack of doctors. Now not all countries have these issues but the US isn't known to be efficient with money or good with its spending.

I will say that you can get free healthcare if you go to one of the FQHC's they will do a income check and write off 20/40/60/80/100% of your bill, depending on "Household" income from the previous tax year.

What I'm more concerned about is how the Federal government is trying to shut down rural hospitals.

We wouldn’t need to if we taxed the richest Americans at a higher rate as we used to back in the 1950s. We’ve been lowering their taxes paid for decades even most recently with ‘OBBBA’.

Not to mention sacrificing good steady reliable pensions for sh*tty 401ks that leave unpredictable stressful anxieties about retirement where you might have to work into your late 60s / 70s which I’ve seen elders work to the bone all over.

Inflation is too high and we pay for it since Congress hasn’t increased wages to meet inflation rates since 2009.

The rich get handouts like govt subsides and contracts also tax relief while everyday hard working Americans don’t get crap.
CEOs cut the worker benefits and the worker standards, people forget for us to even get fire safety codes people had to die and strike for that opportunity just to get a safe way out of a building that is on fire from piss poor management going “I don’t want my workers skipping out on the job” seeing profit margins over their fellow flesh and blood
