Why are there so many male citizens of a country in relationships with foreign women but so few female citizens with foreign men?

Does it have to do with the fact that women care more about a man's status than men care about a woman's societal standing? Is it because women are more selective and men are more desperate? I have never been in a relationship with a local in the country to which I moved, only with other immigrants, while most of my female immigrant acquaintances had no trouble finding a local partner.

That could be true in general. It could also just what your mind wants to see. In general, most people are with those of their own nationality by far. I know that is not what you are arguing. As far as how many men vs women date outside their nationality, I have not noticed the disparity.

Perhaps it depends on the culture/country that you are in? I am Indian. My fiancé is Australian. He could be from Antartica and it would not matter to me in the least. I did not date him or get engaged due to where he came from but who he is.

You have to understand too that in my culture (and religion), it is much more rare for someone to date a person from another country. Fortunately, my family is much more open and not traditional religious like many are.

I was free to date him as I pleased. My family has welcomed him in when things go serious. They were overly happy when we got engaged. We are getting married end of this month in Australia, which includes my whole family making the journey for the wedding. So, this is something not strange for me personally.

I haven't noticed, tbh. But trust can come into it. There are a lot of ways guys from foreign places have uncomfortable presumptions about western or just white women in general. I was researching the experiences of people who moved to Korea, for example, because I'd like to live there one day, and the dating scene is really messed up. Lots of the guys only wanted to date them to uphold this fantasy of being an interracial blog couple, or use her to show off, thought they were all really wild and open to everything sexually, and just overall didn't treat them with the respect they treated the girls of their own nationality.

Girls like love and care and security in their partner's earnest feelings for them as much as guys do. It is very rarely about status.

This is something I've noticed myself as well - where I live we have a lot of foreign-born women marrying with local men. I could probably count as well, but given I'm foreign-born myself...

Though I've noticed that they mostly come from Europe - my mother is a French immigrant, my wife is an Austrian immigrant, two of me and my wife's best friends are Indian-British and Spanish, and my half-brother's girlfriend is Afro-Belgian.

Personally I think that simply means that women are generally more willing to adapt their country of destination use and culture, and are more eager to get integrated into the "norm". That said, it's always kind of fun to hear them all talk with different accents.
