Not really- I'd just assume the baby was suddenly that hungry. I know what that's like; I've had the sudden need for food come on like that. As an adult, or even a mobile child, I could see to my own needs; babies can't do that, and it frustrates the hell out them. So you have this desperate creature, terrified that it's starving and can't do anything to help itself, screaming for help. Basic decency would push you to do so even if it WASN'T another human being in distress.

The baby getting fed is what matters most; social concerns about modesty are far less important.

Yes, because that's inappropriate, disrespectful. , and extremely self-absorbed. It's the same thing as whipping your dick out on the subway train and pissing in the corner. People only give it a "free pass" because it's a woman/mother doing it, but it's the same level of disrespect. I f*ckin' HATE self-centered asshole people like this. The truth is, most people do cover up and others remain decent as much as their clothes allow.
The fact is, it’s dinner time for the baby. If it makes you uncomfortable, stop staring! Mums feed their babies in public when they have no other choice. Baby is hungry. Simple. It’s been done for millions of years. Are you telling me only now people find it offensive?

NO! I nursed my oldest for 30 months and am nursing my 13 month old now. It is this nation that thinks it is rude to nurse a baby anytime. All other countries know that it's natural to nurse a baby in public or in private.

I cannot say that I would care or not honestly, but I would look away and think it rude to others. I really don't want to hear about it being the most natural thing... It's not that I disagree or agree with that type of statement. Because that is your opinion and that is valid, but when you do it in public, you're projecting believes onto other people, and I am not going to say it's wrong, but its rude.

So, if you want to do it, don't get upset when you get dirty looks, because people have right to have different opinions.

It amazes me that in the modern world this is still controversial. When I was growing up back in the 60s, breast feeding in public was far more common than it is today. Yes, it was somewhat controversial, but people didn't totally freak out about it. Even my mother who was somewhat prudish didn't make a big deal out of it. She thought they should make a modest effort to cover up, but didn't really care unless the mother had her entire boob flopping out.

After everything else that's happened in the last 50 years since then, how is this one thing still controversial?

If she's got both out there, then yeah, she's probably just showing off. But a baby latched to a mother's breast isn't a problem whatsoever with me, covered or not. I would want to watch my baby eating too, not just stuff him/her under a blanket or sweatshirt.
