Japan is planning to pay for the children of every family leaving Tokyo! Would such an incentive make you leave the city you live in?

In order to prevent the population decline in other cities of Japan, they decided to give an incentive of 1 million yen per child if they accept moving from Tokyo to other cities. Would you accept such an offer?

Why don't they give a hundred million to a company to relocate and hire a hundred workers? That's a longer term solution. A million yen is nothing in Japan. That's less than $8K USD. Why would anyone do it if they don't have a job lined up?

But to answer the question, hell no. Not unless I had a good job waiting for me when I moved.

The problem is much bigger than that though. Modern companies expect a large support network of other companies. It's a symbiotic relationship that causes companies to congregate in a central area. This is getting worse around the world, not just in Japan. Try to get a good paying job away from the cities. They are hard to come by.

They can bring Mexicans, Americans, and South African people over. Sure it will cause the Japanese nationalists to create replacement conspiracy theories even though their birth rate was declining before a y immigrants came to the country. But at least it will save them from an economic collapse.

They have over 1 million grown men in that country that don't desire a woman or to have sex with a woman.

I’m not sure, but it’s interesting to see where this goes. Over here in America people would be throwing such a fit over something like this. Although we don’t have an issue with population decline as far as I’m aware. I hope it works out well for Japan!

Not really one for Japan. But the whole idea of the scheme is not merely money but to spread the workload across the country.

No, I really like where I live and it’s a great place to raise a family so I would only do that if I was destitute.

It's not going to help the Population Decline in Japan. They actually need immigration to help with the Population Decline. It's too difficult to become a citizen there.
