You need to learn more aboout the process before you serously contemplate this. A license plate from China would be absolutely worthless in the US. What you need to think about is how you get a title registered in your state so that you can then get a license plate from your state.

Your car likely will not be road legal. You will probably not be able to register it in the US.

As for the Chinese license plate, since you can't register it there, I suspect they won't give you one.

Finally, just know that your shipping costs will be enormous. In 2007, I paid $2,500 dollars to ship a Honda Civic from Guam to San Diego. Your cost is going to be orders of magnitude higher.

You need to register the car in the US. To do that you need the vehicle's title. Expect to pay sales tax.

The USA has more stringent emissions control than China. As a result. It wouldn't be compliant here. So it wouldn't be street legal. You'd end up wasting your money.

You get the tag in America you ship it on a boat and have all the credentials organized before you leave the country

Umm, I think the car has to be at least 25 years old. I also believe you have to find a broker and shipper than can do that for you.

There are brokers that do that sort of thing, they’d be able to arrange the paperwork if it’s possible. But I’d be surprised if you’re even allowed to import a Chinese vehicle, and if you could you’d be spending a fortune to import a worthless pile of shit
