Yes I would, and I already own one, or planning to own one in the next few days, weeks, months,, etc.
No, I would not. And here's why..

The infrastructure for fast charging is not in place everywhere which reduces your ability for longer trips, your batteries are affected by the cold and the weight in the vehicle increases the Amp/hour load all which reduces your travel range. If you don't have fast charging at home you have to leave it plugged in overnight. If you fryva battery it's going to cost you $ 15 000.00 for a new one and then typically have four batteries. The lithium batteries are a fire hazard thus why you can't even take small ones on an airplane.
I am more of the truck guy but even if Tesla made a kickass pickup truck I a little while after the fire fighters left. wouldn't buy one. There is a Tesla dealership in the next town and a car caught fire. The fire department had to go 3 times because the car would catch fire again right after the firefighters left. Also they do not have enough range. I looked at the Ford F-150 all electric. The sales guy could not even tell me what the range is. That alone was enought to sour me on the thing.
In 12 years, 17 states are going to outlaw the sale of new gas cars. It will be a disaster. I've researched it, and the experts say there just aren't enough raw materials on the planet to make all of these batteries. And where will people who live in apartments, charge their cars?
I've seen chargers in Apartment garages. They were the high end type of apartments however. Thing is, my dad also doesn't think this hype will last. It's too expensive for the everyday man to buy and he said that the current U. S. president declared war on fossil fuels, so that is why gas prices rose so much. I think the only people that could afford the cars are those making around 60k plus per year, if not more. OR, the people that are just PRETENDING to be rich lol. Not to mention, my dad says that the charging stations are using expensive electricity to power them up. Very interesting. I'm curious to see how this all plays out. Finally, I think I can already see somewhat, how it's fairing, considering the Tesla's been out since 2012, and well...
Your dad is spot on. Biden sold our strategic oil reserve to China. What kind of an idiot does that? That oil is meant for an emergency in time of war. Biden did declare war on fossil fuel, and he started that on his first day in office. Trump refused to let Putin finish his Nordstream pipline, because he knew if he did, Russia would invade Ukraine. On Biden's first day in office, he gave the green light for Putin to complete the pipeline. Now the US is involved in a war with a superpower with 6,000 nukes. Biden is going to get us all killed, so electric cars won't matter.
Thus EV fad in North America is not being supported in Europe where the cost of fuel has been so high for do long they've concentrated on making the vehicles more fuel efficient and les polluting, hydrogen powered vehicles is far more practical and more green the lithium batteries have to be trashed eventually and just add to the carbon footprint.
I personally never found the car interesting irl. But i won a free one in my game yesterday and decided to do it in this color so i’m tempted to race it

Not interested, just not sure how environmentally friendly they are with respect to the battery and other components. In addition, if everyone goes to electric cars, the hydro infrastructure would not be able to handle it. Most cities don't have the hydro necessary to hook-up your own charging stations. I am also not a fan of charging stations on the go. I've seen people waiting an hour or more just to get a charging station off the side of the highway bc two other people are ahead of them. So add an hour or more to your drive if your going away for the long weekend, unless you have a charging station at your cottage.
I like the concept, but it just isn't feasible for everyone. I'm waiting for the hydrogen gas vehicle. Whomever comes up with hydrogen gas safe vehicle that is roadworthy, they will be instant gazillionaires.
No. The power grid of the US cannot even support the power we are using now. We have to import power from neighboring countries. There are already blackouts in other states without electric cars on the grid. Replacing a Tesla battery costs $20,000. Tesla's are bad at towing. You use more than double your battery towing with them, which drastically reduces your range. Lithium batteries are a massive fire hazard and they cannot be put out with water. Lithium battery fires produce their own oxygen. If you damage it in an accident, you might burn alive. You cannot carry a spare battery with you in case of emergencies. I can carry fuel in a spare gas can no problem. Electric cars are not the future. They're a luxury.
Very interesting, I think you're right! I live in an affluent area so "all" I see are Teslas, but I truly think it's just hype!
The Tesla has four batteries and they cost $15,000.00 ,, each to replace.
No. They simply aren't where they need to be yet to make them a good investment. Charging takes too long and, on long trips, that adds a little of time. The materials needed aren't exactly friendly. Repair costs seem to be higher than average for a regular car. And they also seem to have inferior build quality as shown by people pointing out panels and windows with gaps and looseness. I'm more for a hybrid
No thanks first off there not good for the earth like people think. second if i did go electric i would be smarter with my choice of electric cars, and third i like the sound of a gas car ,, and im older by the time electric cars are the norm i will be gone.
What do you mean by your first sentence?
And if it's not that good, why do I see so many people driving it everyday, everywhere.
@TenderFantasy
One half million pounds of Earth has to be removed to make one Tesla battery. Electric cars are horrible for the environment, but people don't want to see that. And people don't want to see that most of the electricity produced in America, comes from burning coal.
HI Tenderfantasy what i mean is this ,, we dont know what the environmental impact really is as of yet do we ,, i worked in the auto industry for over 34 years and batteries are made of poisons and in the electric cars most of the car is battery and very dangerous,, like that cars we have now but only bigger and not as road worthy ,, they dont last very long as of yet and made with very rare materials as of yet.. to costly and really not good for the earth as we know it ,, seems it should be but in 50 years or so or sooner unless things change , we are not ready for that kind of health risk again.
The batteries have to eventually be scrapped and they are difficult if not impossible to get rid of without polluting the esrth some more.
I've thought about it.
I just have too many toys.
But if we just had 2 vee hickles, 1 to use on long trips, the other for errands and day trips I might just consider either one of those or another brand.
Teslas seem to have the better tech vs the others on the market, and I kind of like the 100+ mpg equivalent.
I have an EV. Non Tesla. But wouldn’t own it if it was my only vehicle! You need to be able to locate the charging stations easier. They are great for around town in warm weather. The heater and AC shortens the driving range when they are used.
Eww really? !
Yeah my buddy slmost bought a Ford Lightning EV pick up truck untill he found out that hauling a trailer reduced the lousy 300 km range to 150 km.
Nope.
E cars are trash: battery replacements cost like a small car and they last not very long, very limited range no long trips possible, long charging time while super chargers aren't that common (and using super charge too much damages the battery), they dont like cold weather,
Couldn't give me one. I test drove them and it's endless annoying technology I don't like, as well as I'm EMF sensitive and the model Y made me feel ill.
I would just put it on a space X flight and send it into outer space.
The Tesla 3 is very affordable.
The Tesla 3 is among other company vehicles I provide to some of my employees.
They are only driven within the cities they're assigned to.
They have been satisfactory, so far.
I have no clue what they even cost. It's just not an interesting concept. There is nothing desirable about owning a Tesla. It's like paying to get kicked in the nuts repeatedly.
Lol that's hilarious! 🤣
No , I would not buy a Tesla under any circumstances, for after you 'bought' it Tesla still has access to the management systems and can change how it operates without your consent and/or brick it completely as the mood takes them.
I would not and that's because Denmark isn't set up for electric vehicles yet.
I might get a hybrid - when I get my drivers licence, which might be a thing soon due to work.
No.. Why? I have one of these. Who has more fun?
My BARBIE owned one of those! Niiccee!!!
There's not enough charging stations around, the batteries are EXTREMELY heavy and can still explode on impact and, I'd rather have one of Seth Meyers' cars that run on water! One tankful can last a LOOOOOOOOONG time!!
My cousin rented a Tesla to drive from Chicago to Des Moines, and he pulled in a super fast charge station which takes shout 1/2 an hour to get an 80% charge and he noticed a barrier around the station and investigated to see what was behind the sound barrier and found that the charging station was powered by a diesel generator. So much for green technology.
@LiamSawyer Yeah, that's another thing! In order to get the electricity to power these cars, you need to burn coal or some other kind of "fossil" fuel to GET the electricity so, you're not saving anything! I was watching a Steven Greer video last night and he reminded me that the real Tesla cars ran on the power absorbed from the very air around us! Like with his Tesla towers where he could've powered the entire planet for free by just pulling it out f the air.
California has banned natural gas appliances in New homes in favor of electrical appliances the irony is that California's electricity is mostly produced by natural gas burning electricity generation stations.
@LiamSawyer Exactly!! So, all their doing is slitting their own throats, so to speak.
The Mercedes EQE is so much prettier.
No. The technology is not particularly great and the build quality sucks. There was a time and a place to buy Tesla, that time is not now and that place is not here.
I did say yeah in the past but the whole handle-less thing turns me off of them
I also can't drive and if I'm at the level to have a chauffeur then I'll either pick a half dead Bentley or just a Skoda because the Superb with L K is almost as good
I associate ''Tesla'' with that disgusting South-African who pretends to be American now.
No way.
In addition - I'm biking; using a car would be some kind of ''emergency''.
No I would not get a Tesla. If I were to get an electric car it would be one of the smaller ones that doesn't require as much electricity.
I don't like Elon Musk because I think he treats people like cat litter so I would be resistant to buying it.
It will be useless to me. And I don't want to deal with all the electric car problems. Gas power is more convenient.
General no to electric cars, as i can't charge it.
I would need another car or vehicle to drive to the charging station where my Tesla parked.
No. Teslas are ugly inside and out, and not fun to drive. In fact, they seem to be built for people who hate driving.
Maybe someday, if I had a house with solar panels and a battery so I could just plug it in at night and not have to worry about it.
No.
- Currently not interested in electric cars
- I don’t like the build quality
- I find the design of most models impractical
No. Not until they find a way to make the batteries in such a way where it impacts the environment less than gas cause right now it does not.
How is it not cleaner than gas/diesel if it's battery? I mean, yeah, to recycle the battery would be bad for the enivornment once it reaches old age or junkyard status, but still
The components of the batteries are WAY more environmentally harmful than gas and diesel, especially when they have to be disposed of. And the production of the batteries are just as bad. Nearly every single plant that produces these rely on coal or natural gas for power.. so the reality of these things is they are just as bad. Additionally the efficiency of the batteries is terrible. A weight to weight comparison of gasoline to these batteries shows that the batteries are about 10% as efficient as the gasoline.
there are factors at play more than just Battery = clean.. When you take the inefficiency of them into account, the environmental costs of producing them, and the environmental costs of disposing of them.. and the financial costs of replacing them (20K to 30k in most cases).. Nah i will stick to gasoline..
Now if they invented the fusion core, like they have in fallout? or something similar, that is when electric cars will become compelling to me.
Interesting, thanks!
I don't think I'd get a Tesla. Most likely a different company. But they keep coming out with new models, better pricing, better range, faster charging. So I can wait until it's even better than today.
No. Interior quality compared with other cars in this price range is unacceptable
Teslas are basically the new MAGA hat. Hard pass.
I can, but no. Until the technology is a lot better and far less environmentally destructive I will stick with my flex fuel cars.
Like I was saying to @worldscolide, how is it MORE destructive than gas if it's battery? ! Care to explain.
i haven't heard anything good about them from owners
Nope. Not with steering wheels falling off. Give me something strong and reliable, and I'm good
My apartment block doesn't have charging facilities.
I test drove one, it's crap. Going to get a Taycan instead.
No, because I don’t trust self driving cars for starters. And secondly, the rate of price increases for electricity now actually makes gasoline cheaper.
Maybe. I’d have to check into them more to make up my mind.
I would rather. Rent a space and outspurce it for buisness that would gauruntee me some profits.
No, if I ever get that rich, I'd use it to get further ahead on my mortgage
If I really needed a car. I could travel other ways.
If I could afford a Tesla I'd probably get a BMW.
Too unreliable, too few dealers and repair shops
Maybe as a 2nd car. They're horrible for road trips but fine around town.
No. Because while I like Tesla's they're still overpriced. And I don't waste money, even when I can afford to.
Nah, brand name shit this branded are tougher to maintain and usually have less quality control.
I would. I am in California where gas 9 is STIILL $ 5 per gallon for regular.
Not interested. Plus don't get the mileage I want between charges (400-500 miles).
I am a truck guy have to pull my boat and haul yard waste from my house
Yes i would. Cuz electrify cars will take the future
No, absolutely not.
No, It would not fit my driving style or needs.
Until they build a compact pickup truck...
I don't like cars
Nope I don't trust them
yup. same here
Hell no. Electric cars suck.
I would invest in buying a house instead
Cause I am not a fan of cars.
No. I hate electric cars.
Fuck no. Where would I plug it in?
I'm not an attention seeking poseur
