What's is the characteristics of Black Panther? So whether you go see a Black Panther film or Little Mermaid the character should be accurately presented. If you turn up and all the sudden Black Panther is White male or hell a white chick or let's say a Indian? How on earth does that portray the character? The simple answer is it don't. So it is dumb.00 Reply

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yBecause for one it’s not ok for a white person to play an Indian, or any other minority character because it would be considered racist, but when things are switched it’s ok for some reason. Two why not establish your own thing, your own characters that minorities can look up to rather than take a charter that a lot of minorities would say is racist cause Disney doesn’t portray people of color as these characters. No I’m not white either I’m a minority, I’m an Indian, the pow-wow type lol

Asker+1 yI don’t see how you are a minority when Indian is the second most populated country in the world.
Opinion Owner+1 yRead my opinion again. Wrong Indian, wrong country.
+1 yShe's the little mermaid right? The white mermaid with red hair? Yeah...
It's woke culture infiltrating its way into children's movies to start the indoctrination early.
I have no problem with black characters in kid's movies, but don't take a white character and make them black just for the sake of being "woke". It is stupid22 Reply- +1 y
the best thing is: you can't dare to use a white actor for any other ethnicity character, cause that's evil cultural appropriation. but you can replace any white character with a black actor and there's nothing wrong with that. people need to get their shit together.

Lol! Right? Bunch of morons
+1 yCan't they just change the name of the character at least? They did from Hans Andersen's original story with 1980s ginger version.
I think black mermaid is awesome. But they gave her same name, same songs, same outfit, same green scales. Why do black people gotta get leftover shit from 80s movies?
Why doesn't Hollywood write an original character? What's next? Black Pippy Long Stockings?

100% agree with that! make your own black mermaid story. nothing wrong with that. don't just replace a white role with a black actor. that's racist as fuck.

You know, it's the most uncreative shit ever. They kept practically everything there to my understanding, and I wouldn't be surprised if they will continue giving Sebastian some thick Carribean accent. I've seen this fucking movie already! The CG isn't gonna change shit! Actually it's probably better left as a hand-drawn cartoon when you got talking fish and crabs and stuff. This CG stuff doesn't work for that so well.
So this is a worse movie than I've already seen, most likely, and the only thing they did new besides replacing beautifully hand-drawn animation with VFX is make the character black. And they couldn't even be bothered to give her a new name and at least a slightly different motivation. WTF! Bullshit. The trailer is the height of creative bankruptcy. I'm coming at this artistically, not politically.
This is artistically void. This is the most sellout bullshit mainstream piece of shit ever on display. - +1 y
it's all just political agenda. nothing else. it's obviously not about telling an interesting story anymore. not even about making a movie that lots of people will watch, cause obviously such controversy will lower the numbers at the box office.

@genericname85 Cheers!

@genericname85 I got fucking viagra ads in my spam folder of my e-mail box that are 10 times more creative than this shit!
- +1 y
well in the times of chat gpt, you don't really even have an excuse for a bad story in a movie anymore xD

@genericname85 I used to think we reached an all-time low when McDonalds adopted "I'm Luvin' It" from Justin Timberlake's song for their slogan. But I completely underestimated how artistically bankrupt the industry could be!
We are reaching new heights! This is like Guinness World Record shit in creative bankruptcy. My farts are more creative than this fucking shit! WTF is wrong with this world now? - +1 y
oh. if you wanna know where we're going, watch the movie Ideocracy. i used to think it's a comedy movie but the more i see what's happening in the world, the more i feel it's actually a dystopian scifi movie, that isn't even supposed to be funny... just realistic.
- +1 y
@genericname85 I love that movie! But I actually think we might be getting smarter in some way. Lazier, perhaps, but we got so much info at our fingertips. I can't understand why companies are going braindead all of a sudden, like Gillette commercial. Most tone-deaf thing ever.

@genericname85 Preaching about the harms of toxic masculinity to a demographic that shaves? Did anyone review that message? WTF is this shit!

@genericname85 This one. Have you seen this? WTFFFFF!

i think that's actually a means of global population control. planet is getting too crowded. the elites (world economic forum and bilderberger meetings) first started deconstructing femininity by devaluating the mother role and replacing the mother archetype with the "successfull career woman" archetype. now they're deconstructing th male role by calling everything that's masculine toxic. plus they started confusing people as to what a woman or a man even is by their aggressive lgbtq propaganda.
it's clearly a coordinated attempt at making men and women reproduce less and it's very clearly working well. - +1 y
Did the company just get suddenly flooded by a bunch of dick-sucking homosexuals? Or maybe a whole bunch of women? Like how can a company be that tone-deaf all of a sudden? WTF is going on? It's like a commercial from a bunch of male feminists! WTF!
- +1 y
and then there's of course that huge push for racist ideas which devides people even more. we're just sheep who are being devided and decimated by the wolfes. there's not much we can do.
- +1 y
well gilette sells these razors for women, which is basically just a razor for men painted in pink and some sort of lotion spreading bullshit attached to the head XD
- +1 y
but tbh, if you're buying these razors with the cheap replacable plastic heads with the 100 blades that last for a week before you gotta buy a new one for 25 bucks, you're lost anyway :D
- +1 y
@genericname85 I love to shave with straight razor now! Takes more time but closer and more control over safety as I see it. I think mostly I'm just thinking about business standpoint, trying to disregard the politics and my biases as much as possible. These people in charge seem to be going absolutely insane. They are catering to a minority at the expense of alienating the majority, it seems, and I don't need a business degree to know that's a horrible idea.
- +1 y
right on! i'm using a safety razor these days. i've been shaving for 2 years now with the blades i bought for 10 bucks. and the pack isn't even half empty xD
as Sun Tzu already realized 500 bc, you can conquer people easier if you devide them first.
you think cat calling matters to anyone? or gender? or abortions? same sex marriages? pronouns? ethnicity in movies? none of that matters. it's a tool to keep people devided, cause if they weren't so devided on so many different bullshit topics that don't mater, they may actually see the things that do matter and unite to fix them. and that problem are very few very powerful people who would not like that to happen and who have the ressources to prevent that.
the worst part is: knowing that doesn't help you at all xD it just makes you more bitter about the inevitable reality you find yourself in. - +1 y
@genericname85 We can still throw a party! Everyone invited who doesn't buy into this shit! Cheers!

+1 ybecause it is stupid. arielle is a mermaid. mermaids live deep under the sea where the sun doesn't reach a lot. so they will be pale as fuck and not have a very high melanin content. it just logically makes no sense. and then also it's obvious racism.

and also it's cultural appropriation.
