It was not that long ago that supporting gay marriage was widely considered a pretty extreme leftist position. Now we’re in a spot Where even a decent minority of Republicans are supporting this. I’m not going to change my mind and back something that I feel is wrong. Marriage is between a man and a woman. And you’re not going to change my mind otherwise with a bunch of spin doctor political BS.
gay people were getting murdered in broad daylight and the government by the people for the people did something about it. Same thing is happening with trans people and in 30 years we'll be on something eles but trans people will be safer.
This happens all the time. It's why we don't live in caves anymore. Remember child labor kids with smashed up hands from coal. Guess what the was those radical leftist propaganda at its finest.

Whether you believe it’s right or wrong is irrelevant. The prohibition on same sex marriage was always a clear violation of the equal protection clause. It was never a matter of if it would be legalized, but when. It took the court decades to overcome its own bigotry to do what was constitutional. Government is not guided by the Bible, it’s guided by the constitution. If you’re going to have laws governing marriage, they must apply equally to people. How you feel personally is irrelevant to everyone but you.
That’s the idea. It’s not extreme. They don’t care whether you like or not.
They haven't. It's not a matter of reframing, but of people genuinely changing their minds as old bigotries fall by the wayside. Sixty years ago, this question would've been about interracial marriage, and you'd've been decrying it as miscegenation, but it'd be a legitimate marriage, same as the ones between two people of the same sex.
