I think it's usually a bad idea. Because I usually reject people for things that they can't change. So if they can't do anything about it, it would be kind of mean to rub that in their face. That wouldn't be a kind thing to do. It would only hurt their feelings.

You should always put yourself in their shoes when breaking up or ending a relationship , be mindful of their feelings and emotions whilst being as direct / firm as possible. Choosing the right time , place and language is very important also

You don't always need to tell people why you're rejecting them or are no longer interested in them especially if you know this is going to cause major insecurities on that person.

It's a waste of time, unless they ask for details a rejection is enough. No one wants to listen to your reasons, they will just disagree and you will have an argument. A rejection is bad enough having you telling them what you think is wrong with them is hardly making it better. It's one thing to explain a breakup after a longer relationship. But it isn't required when you haven't even started one.

It is much kinder to give someone feedback than to leave them in the dark. If you give them feedback, at least they can learn from the experience.

I've never rejected anyone or were in the fortunate position to do so. I have however been rejected countless times. I would love it if I had honest feedback so I knew what to improve on from the woman's standpoint.
