Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yYes it is part of the reason. Me. Tend to get screwed in more ways than one. Alimony, child support, loss of home, finances, loss of kids, etc. A lot of younger men see their fathers, uncles, friends go through this so they’d rather learn from it than get married. A lot of men don’t want a lot of women these days because a lot of women these days bring nothing to the table as the saying goes. Women think just being w them is enough to treat her like a Princess. Many don’t know how to cook, a lot of emotional problems, single parent, etc. Divorce is initiated mainly by women by more than 50%, I believe most divorces are initiated by women 70 or so percent of the time.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yThe decline started with no fault divorce. Look it up sometime. And yes divorce is one of many reasons that men choose not to marry. Its not worth it. Imagine going into a relationship, where there is no guaranteed benefit, and if you even slightly piss the other person off, she can leave you, and stick you with child support and alimony, Make up false accusations and have the courts believe her because evidence is not required, and make it so you can never see your children without any form of consequences. Marriage is a net loss for men.

+1 yYES!!! I'm a married man of 14+ years and I'll tell you it's the first thing we think about if we are even aware of it. 6 years together and you as a man will be paying her alimony. Kids? you already know who's paying that and who is most likely going to have their kids taken from them while the mother talks shit about Dad and turns the kids against him. I know my Mom did that with me against my Dad. Any domestic dispute... who's side is going to be taken? You as the man could own the house, they will kick you out of your own house and tell you to get a hotel room for the night... that's not even with marriage and just the girlfriend/boyfriend level. Have a woman live in your house who has a boyfriend of her own for too long... guess who can make a claim to 50% of your shit as a man... there is a term for that I can't remember right now, where if she lives with you for a certain amount of time, the state will go ahead and consider you two married.
I mentioned I've been married 14+ years... I don't work on purpose and I make sure I'm the one staying home with the kids on purpose. And oh yes, she tried the cheating shit and then suddenly realized it wasn't going to work out for her like it would for most women. She begged me to stay and I cheated back on her, in her face cheating and wasn't trying to hide it at all, times 20. She put up with it and I finally calmed down... why did she put up with it? Because she knew who was about to lose 50% of their shit and the kids and it wasn't me. She was going to be paying me child support and alimony for 10+ years so I can live this lifestyle I'm accustomed to.
A quick shoutout to anyone that mentioned a prenup... Guess what, those things get turned over in court... they don't help unless you get divorced within 6 months and even then I've seen them get rejected because she'll claim she was forced to sign one under duress.
Now a spry 20-something like I was at one time... might not be aware of any of that and we call them 'blue-pilled' men. But it's facts... laws created in the late 1800's and early 1900's are still around even though a woman can get a damn job easier than I can at this point. But it's all facts and most men don't know how to manipulate the system.
I forgot to mention that in family court, you as the man will have to pay for her lawyer that is used against you. You have to pay her legal fees and if you fight it with your own lawyer, that's going to get expensive. That's just icing on the cake.
10 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Broken families and promiscuity is the reason for the decline in marriage rates. Marriage is supposed to be a bond between two people. But emotionally damaged people, like hoes, cannot bond well and children from broken families cannot know how to keep a marriage together. Unfortunately, most people are now hoes and a growing number are either bastards to begin with or are otherwise from broken homes. The fact is just that most men and women are neither fit nor worthy of marriage, and deep down everyone knows it.

That is certantly part of the modern problem. The broken family however is also very much down stream resulting from previous failed marriages. Just as it neglects fact that for nearly all of human history the now legally non-existent "bonds" of matrimony use to help protect families, as NOT to create ever more such problems down stream.
True mental illness, like abuse is really quite rare, so using it as a cause for a wide spread problem is Red herring used to justify actions in unrelated situations creating far more problems. - +1 y

being hoes or a slut has nothing to do with divorce. It has to do with the fact that women no longer need their husbands like they used to. Now women have jobs, careers. They don't need their man if they are not happy with him. 100 years ago, Women couldn't afford to divorce their husbands because otherwise they would have no way to survive. Plus, back then marriage had less to do with romance but rather more to do with survival. Nowadays, romance has more to do with romance and less to do with survival.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yThe main reason for the decline in marriage is the simple fact that Marriage as an cultural and legal institution really doesn't exist anymore for most people.
The institution was originally about securing and raising children.
We have 'redefined' the union to be about our feelings rather than a shared objective for which it's terms are actually necessary like securing children. So of course people who hold theses "modern" definitions are rationally going to start to wonder what is the point of taking the risk?
You very clearly don't need goverment approval to feel anything about anyone, so what is the marriage license really for?

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yWho's going to commit to a woman that everyone has ridden before you and now you get the privilege of getting whatever's left, then she decides she's bored or finds a guy with more money or a bigger dick and divorces you, turns your kids against you and you're living out of a motel room while some fuckboy is screwing your ex wife in your old bed? Does that sound attractive to men? Men shouldn't even commit nowadays unless she's a virgin and even then the risk due to feminism and no fault divorce is HUUUUGE.
10 Reply3.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. there's statistics to back up these beliefs
marriage is suppose to be a lifelong commitment through thick and thin but given that women are overwhelmingly the ones choosing to eject when the going gets tough and men end up losing time, energy, resources, love, effort and even their kids that may or may not be his etc. all for nothing, it's not unreasonable for them not to get married
10 ReplyWhere im from they tend to be more for the woman.
She can get you for child support. Even lie about it. Get caught in court. And never have to pay the money back.
She can divorce you anytime she wants but if I divorce her without letting her know its abondonment.10 Reply- 1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
+1 yIt’s partly the reason. Yes. Marriage really doesn’t benefit a man I a lot of ways. Because of what you stated and because usually wants a woman gets the ring the security, she becomes comfortable and especially lazy. So it doesn’t benefit or bring as much value to a man as it does a woman. It’s not the only reason, lot of women are hoes and have high body counts as well, that’s also a lot of it, and men like to cheat a lot, so that’s also very much part of it as well.

+1 yI hear this, but in what I've seen of divorices around me, I was never divoriced, I'm not seeing that bias. I think it's like anything else... the media can take anything and blow it up by taking exception cases.
People would be better served to focus their energy in constructive ways.
00 Reply 871 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. dont think that's the reason really. most dudes dont think about that stuff unless theyre part of the manosphere. it's just that more and more people see no reason to get married, people are single or dating around longer, more divorces and its complicated and expensive to get married

+1 yNo-fault is biased against the one with more assets and the higher earner. As a large number of women begin out-earning their partners, I am seeing them also get raked by the laws. One nurse ran the department in a hospital and made more than double her husband. He cheated, filed for divorce after 13 years of marriage, and got $3K/month in open-ended alimony (spousal support). Also got half of her retirement.

+1 yNo. The reason for the decline in marriages is a mindset shift within the culture. People do not hold marriage in esteem like they used to. They do not respect marriage as an institution and they do not take their vows seriously. They view it very flippantly, and they see spouses as no less interchangeable than a car or a wardrobe.
00 Reply That's only part of it. Some other factors include. Women and men not being traditional. 80 percent of women are going after 20 percent of men they call high value just because the men are worth a lot of money.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yNot really. I mean it might be at the back of guys minds. But greater is the fact that most guys the vast majority of today's women simply are NOT capable of a lifetime commitment. Mist guys don't consider marriage today simply because thier no reason to. You marry someone because you want to spend the rest of your life with them. Since with most women that is not possible there's no reason for marriage. Now... that's when laws and family courts come in.
00 Reply12.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No. As in some places, more kids are born outside of wedlock , than in.
So you've fallen on your ass before you've fully stood up with that assertion.
00 Reply2.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Pretty much. The penalty of divorces steer me away from getting there by getting married.
10 Reply1.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. The courts are heavily rigged against men. I was a victim of that in my first divorce.
20 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. One of the reasons, there is more than one. Women are no longer wife material is another.

Are women or men primarily to blame for the divorce rates nowadays? Seemingly lower interest in marriage? Why?
