@nolabels : Gotcha. It does exist for some instances. But it's much more humane and controlled today. The producers of Criminal Minds tried to tell everyone that the old nighmarish-looking 19th century version is still in practice, and used that to slander reparative therapy centers.

Yeah, that TV stuff is a load of hooey.
In modern E C T, the patient is sedated and sleeping, the E C T is applied and all that should be seen is a change in the E E G readings.
I've had some significant neck pain resulting from E C T, but was told later by another doctor that I need to request deeper sedation on future visits to keep the seizure confined to my brain, not extending into my muscles.

I think a respectful conversation will have to happen at some point. However, the amount of trans people just in existence, period, is EXTREMELY low. Like it has to be less than 1% of the population, and what percent of that is going to be men transitioned to women, and of that even smaller number, what percentage are even competitive athletes?

To be honest, it feels like this is just a way to make life hard for trans people, because conservatives have very publicly scoffed at women’s athletics for years (WNBA, Women’s US Soccer team, pay rate discrepancies, etc), and it’s never done respectfully and in good faith, that’s clear to anyone watching. It’s just very strange to see this sudden passion to protect the integrity of female sports, lmfao. Where was that energy before?

Even before puberty honestly. Ignoring everything else, it would be cruel to let a kid play on the girls team and then when they hit puberty just to confuse and ostracize them even more say "Allright, time to play with the boys now" lol

Yes. Men simply have, on average and at the elite level, too much of a biological advantage. I liken it to letting a trained heavyweight boxer battle for the middleweight gold at the Olympics. It is fact that a couple of boys' teams have defeated a couple of Women's National Soccer (Football) teams (Australia and USA).
