Self defense can't be murder but justifiable homicide, also adding money there. If the pay was made through a third party I'd go for it. The state I live in is first in the country for murders (per capita), but has some of the most lenient sentencing.
Vengeance would be high up there, though one I'd be reluctant to take as "tooth for a tooth" would seem less likely than taking much more. Like to get back at one person and get away with it, taking out their entire building would be more simple and easy.

Self defense but if not it's going to be vengeance and I would only consider it for one thing, someone murders someone I care about odk if I'd be able to just let them rot in prison if they catch the person, and if not God knows it will take everything in my will power to not get an eye for an eye and before I kill them I'll torture them emotionally, I'd tell them once he's gone ill take his family as my own once I'm done with him, I'll comfort his wife through his death, I won't do all that but just to torture them mentally you know, thinking of someone harming my family gets me heated 😂
in self defense or in defense of my family, but I don’t see any natural occurring instance in which this would be required, it would have to be some crazy crazy circumstance
i could for self defense, vigilantism (like if you want to go murder a pedo i'm down lol) & revenge

If I committed murder, it would probably be because of someone posting a stupid question on G@G!
I wouldn't ^^ Self defence isn't murder. Murder is not just killing someone but there have to be additional factors that make it even worse like carefully planning it, killing for money any kind of additional cruelty or cunning. Self defense is the exact opposite of that.
Out of settling the score for a murdered family member or an armed home invasion. You can't just defend yourself and leave them alive, because they will bring their crew back and get their revenge. Ya gotta do your best CSI-proof clean-up and disposal. I have a check list to do that.
Self-defense should not be on here so I did not vote in the poll. Killing in self-defense is not murder. Murder is the intentional and unnecessary taking of life.
As for actual murder, I would never do it. There have been people who have gravely hurt me and I fended them off and hated them for years, but I would never deliberately kill them.
I have only ever taken life during service to our country. Killing in service of others in an official capacity is ALSO not murder.
Revenge most likely, but even then, I can't ever picture myself doing something that crazy.
Self-defence would be the second most likely option.
Self defense would be obvious. But if someone were to be stalking someone with the intention of doing major harm to them, I would not be afraid to remove that threat permanently.
Mostly, self defense but, if one of my ex-sisters showed up, I wouldn't mind parking their heads in the cheap seats with a Louisville Slugger, after what they did to mom & I!!
I don't put self defense in the murder category but if there was going to be anything, that would be it.
I would namely out of vengeance. Self defense I wouldn't count as murder since it isn't premeditated.
I would not murder anyone but I might take someone life in self-defense or in war. I have a concern about all the people who have armed themselves for self defense. Do they have it in themselves to really pull the triger.
Revenge or "justice". The sad thing about revenge is that you can only do it once.
murder means that there would be malicious intent... I would never do that
Self defense is not murder. Its justifiable homocide
But is it murder if it is self defence, in the USA i guess so but we call it manslaughter here in the UK. You can even escape prosecution if you are protecting your home.
Vengeance. I catch a dude fuckin my girl, I'm taking them both out! Slash the bro's throat while she watches in panic and then proceed to crush her windpipe out of commission. Brutal I know, and also wouldn't be the first or last.
I voted for the second one. Remember, self defence isn't murder. One thing Hollywood has proved to us repeatedly is that revenge killing isn't just okay, it's mandatory.
Self defense is an affirmative defense to a charge of murder, thus is not relevant to the question.
Revenge, survival or to guarantee a loved ones safety.
I wouldn't. I also do not consider self-defense or defense of others as murder, but I would do either if necessary.
Self defense or try to hurt my child or someone I deeply care about.
I have zero problem with killing someone. I'll still sleep like a baby.
