High government officials in the US can read the writing on the wall for the future of the nation since they are the ones who wrote it. Officials in failing governments have centuries of precedent of grabbing what they can get for themselves and disappearing. Is that why congress keeps authorizing such massive wealth transfers from the American people to their friends overseas which inevitably finds its way back into their pockets? The American people get NOTHING for all the billions sent to overseas dictators, but US officials somehow always end up getting rich off of it. When some of our closest economic and military allies saw Biden steal trillions from the Russian people for political reasons, they understandably no longer saw US dollars as a stable store of value and turned elsewhere to settle international trade. I'd almost rather they bombed us with explosives than bomb us with giving our dollars back, because we can fill in bomb craters but if our economy craters there WILL be another world war.

I don't think it's fair to put that solely on Democrats. Many Republicans are just as plugged in to Fox and will believe the narrative they are told without doing any reading. The partisan politics do just as much to distract us from the real problems plaguing us.

The biggest difference I find is that for Republicans you don't have to believe everything, or even be Republican to be conservative and get along with them. If you're liberal in the US you have to be Democrat and believe in EVERYTHING or be ostracized by them. It's probably why their numbers are higher too, you're part of them, or GTFO. Republican membership is more loose, with more who will vote republican being independent.

Like I'm a libertarian, and can get along with and talk politics with republicans, I only know one Democrat I still get along with after talking politics, mostly because we just don't talk about it anymore, and just drink beer and let our kids play.

I don't see the American people's interest in money laundering on a scale without precedent in human history to transfer our wealth to politicians via a foreign war that wouldn't have happened unless they caused it. I don't see the benefit to the Ukrainian people of escalating the war with NATO fighter jets and tanks that are only going to bomb or otherwise destroy more Ukrainian civilian housing, infrastructure and businesses. I don't see the benefit to the Ukrainian people of their government getting richer and being protected by their military and foreign militaries while the civilians die for nothing. The Ukrainians gain as much from being the arena in which the East and west fight a proxy war st the Vietnamese did when the US took over from France. I don't see the point in forcing the ethnically Russian Donbas region to stay part of Ukraine if they are willing to die fighting a 14 year war for freedom after Obama regime changed the democratically elected president. I think the most help America could give Ukraine is stop changing their elections, stop building weapons labs in their country that are illegal in ours and are going to get them bombed by an understandably nervous neighbor with a much larger military, and stop propping up the most corrupt dictator in Europe. I understand Zelensky used to do a neat trick with a piano during his comedy career, But Biden is doing that same trick to the Ukrainian and American people by his involvement in Ukraine.
