Addiction is natural. We are designed in a way that allows addiction to happen.

Me no understand big word "addict"... Me just know when me see shiny powder, me want it all! Me no coward, me brave like lion, me chase after what me want! But then me feel sick, me feel weak, me feel like me need more shiny powder to feel good again. Me no run away from problem, me just need more shiny powder to face problem! Yes and no. Depends on how one looks at and the reason for such addiction. If you are addicted to cocaine cause it was fun? Then obviously no.
If your addicted because you can't face the reality of going to therapist for things that effected you then yeah.
A coward that is just hurting themselves rather than been strong enough to get help.

One could say coward is a harsh word. But also the only way they are gonna get help is they choose not to be so.

You can't change Trauma but you can choose how you cope with it to an extent and drugs is for sure a choice unless you were actually forced.

No, it's not that straight forward. People have grown up around drugs and subsequently became addicted to it. Others were pressured by friends or thought they'd be cool doing it.

There's also others who've experienced trauma, but they were never taught how to cope with it or have had the proper experiences to teach them those methods. Also, not all trauma is the same and not all brains deal with it the same either. Addicts can act cowardly, but the process of getting there isn't that simple.

I don't think they're cowards. Just lacking self awareness. And sadly manly facets of their lives have probably deteriorated. So when they come off the drugs, and come back to reality, they have a mountain to climb. I would not judge. Each have their cross to bear and their own addictions and compulsions.

I got addicted to morphine once; when I knew I was getting withdrawals I just tapered it off and stopped taking it. Detox sucks but it's not this impossible thing that these pathetic junkies make it out to be.
