Is it ture American high school have groups like jockeys, nerds, populars, geeks, loners, emo etc.. and you have to sit with your own crowed when you eat or a fight will break out if a loner sit next to a cheerleader, or is it just so in the movies? I never been to USA so i really want to know if it's just a stereotype in movies or a real thing 🙂
My daughter is in HS. I too went to HS in the US…no it’s not like that. Movies exaggerate and what you stated is not true.
we spent time with those alike.. fights are usually in bad schools in bad neighborhoods…but not due to the reasons you mentioned.
we just visited Oslo and Lillehammer few weeks ago. We didn’t see any polar bears. See what I mean? Glad you asked these questions.a lot of Europeans visit the US and travel to other parts of the world. It will be great for you. I wish more young people in the US do the same to open up their mind and soul to understand the world and people.

There were groups that would stick together but a fight wouldn't break out if one person talked to another really. I was a cheerleader but I hungout with a lot of different people.

Yes it was just like that. Except they were called jocks, named after the athletic supporter. A jockey is a person that races a horse/
There are groups based on interests and some people identify with those groups and others don’t. People sat with friends where i went to school, some of those groups were athletes etc but not all.
You did have to be accepted if you went to a table that was a tight group that sat together everyday. At my school I sat at various tables depending on who was there as there were multiple lunch times as not everyone went at the same time since there were 2000 at my school.
Yes, many groups like that tend to form. And if a loner sat next to a cheerleader, she would probably just get up & sit somewhere else tbh. No fight would break out unless she had a boyfriend that felt she wasn't safe or something.
There are those groups... jocks, the smart kids, the band "nerds", the loners. But as far as being so insulated to fighting because you sat with a different group, I haven't witnessed that. Most of the fighting I've witnessed in high school was more about relationships that status.
We USED to when I was in high school about 50 years ago. I was (sort of) a nerd. I was not a greaser or jock.
I don't know if these same groups still exist now in school. Now students just don't want to bother learning- period.
No, that's pretty much how it is.
Not "jockeys", jocks. A jockey rides a horse, a jock plays all sorts of sports, mostly football, basketball and wrestling. No, there really aren’t really any cliques in the way they are portrayed in TV
Not many joceys.
