Why is the OK HAND SIGNAL no longer acceptable?

The OK hand signal has been around for years. It's a means of non-verbally acknowledging someone. But lately, it may no longer be acceptable.

It now is apparently used by some as a symbol of White Supremacy.

The D. C. United soccer team fired the club's athletic trainer for allegedly making a "discriminatory hand gesture" in a photo that appeared on social media. What was the gesture? An OK hand signal. Here's a link to that story on NPR.

At this point, if you're bothered by "white supremacy", you need to focus less on being offended, and more on not being inferior to white people. I mean, if we can see the "okay" sign (or the letter F, for that matter), exercise, punctuality, and math without being offended, and you can't, then what exactly is your reasoning for why we aren't superior?

Because racist turds started using it and adopted it. Same as the comic book characters skull picture. Racist groups started heavily using it as a symbol so much so that the comic book company ended up disowning their own symbol.

If I remember correctly it was someone on a 4chan message board who made a bet they could manipulate the media into thinking even a basic hand gesture was a racist dogwhistle to prove how gullible the media was. Seems they won that bet.
