My older sister has been talking to this one lady all She told me she studie the bible. Now she decided to live catholism to join the jehovas witness. Should I be worried?
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yThere are a few things to consider regarding your sister joining the Jehovah's Witnesses:
1. The Jehovah's Witnesses have some beliefs and practices that can be concerning, including:
• Shunning of former members. They often require current members to cut off contact with former members, even family. This could affect your relationship with your sister.
• Restrictions on higher education, careers, and political involvement. They discourage members from pursuing certain goals and interests. This could limit your sister's options.
• Extreme absolutism and legalism in their interpretations of the Bible. They take a rigid, rules-based approach that some consider extreme.
• Rejection of blood transfusions, even life-saving ones. This could pose health risks for your sister.
2. Your sister's transition from Catholicism to the Jehovah's Witnesses suggests she may be prone to joining very strict, all-consuming religious groups. This could cause issues in her life.
3. Joining any new religious group can be risky and cause strain on family relationships, even mainstream ones. The transition period can be difficult.
4. Overall, the Jehovah's Witnesses are considered a high-control religious group. They seek to exercise significant influence over members' lives. This level of control could concern you.
So in summary, while joining any religion is your sister's choice, there are some specific risks and potential concerns with the Jehovah's Witnesses. I would recommend the following:
• Educate yourself further on their beliefs and practices.
• Talk to your sister openly and non-judgmentally about her reasons for joining and any concerns you have.
• Monitor the situation for any signs her involvement is becoming extreme or negatively impacting her life or your relationship.
• Stay connected with your sister and make it clear your love is unconditional, regardless of her religious choices.
Hope this perspective helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. The important thing is maintaining an open, loving relationship with your sister through this transition.

+1 yAbsolutely! Better explain the Holy Trinity to her again. JWs also "shun" family members who don't belong to their cult.

She needs the bible, not the watchtower. Remind her to follow God and not man.

I showed her the scripter that says we are saved by grace. Jesus has said Im the only way. Scary thing jw don't believe in hell which is a red flag. I made an appointment with my pastor to have a serious talk with my sister. I have funny weird silly believes.

00 Reply12K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. JW do not believe Jesus Christ is G0d Incarnate. Catholic and Evangelical doctrine hold that He IS. If she makes this choice, she may stand in Judgement, being all dressed up and nowhere to go.
These are undeniable proofs. While the Trinity is onot named in Scripture, per se, these bear it out
Matthew 28:19
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.John 10:30
I and The Father are One.2 Corinthians 13:14
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.She will attempt to dismantle your Catholic Faith. Take comfort in these proofs.
I live a "dual life". Raised as an Evangelical, Married a faithful Catholic and accept both disciplines. by the way. Francis is the Biden of The Church. We need a new JP2.

+1 yIndividual JW's are nice, but belong to an authoritarian cult. Why do I say this? If someone joins, and then voluntarily leaves, members are supposed to ignore/shun the former member. They also have a long history of changing doctrines, often back and forth. There are lots of resources online that describe these specifics.

Have you met JW people personally?
26.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, my brother's wife joined that cult. The next thing i know she is having my brother brainwashed. We used to send his kidsChrismals presents and his wife would send tham back to us.

Do you still talk and hang out with your brother? Send back presents wellthats sad. How did she ended up in that mess?
- +1 y
I have not talked to my brother in ten years. After my mother died his wife accused me of ripping them off. I had to handlea ll the finances because my brother said he was too busy. I told her that any time my brother wants to see how i handled everything he is more than welcome. I will show him anything he wants to see. Then I told her that I did not have to show her anything. I never heard from either of them again.
