It's heartbreaking to see this opposition to them I've been trying to avoid those posts but sometimes it's hard not to see them. I have friend in Ukraine and it makes me even more upset when I see these negative comments. I just can't wrap my head around it I mean, why wouldn't they support a country that's fighting for its independence and sovereignty? What they think Ukraine should do? Just give up and not stand up for themselves? It's hard to comprehend what exactly these anti-Ukrainian individuals are defending. The Ukrainian people deserve support and solidarity during this challenging time but it's almost like they want Ukraine to just disappearđ.
Alright a few points here
- yes the Ukraine is pro west and could of possibly joined NATO which terrified Putin. One of the main reasons he invaded.
- Putin was emboldened by the Biden administrationâs gross incompetence and fecklessness with the Afghanistan pull out crisis. Itâs funny how quickly Americans have forgotten a out that given how the mass media buried it as quickly as they could. But that demonstrated weakness on the world stage.
- Americans were initially in unilateral support of providing military equipment and aid to the Ukraine. Russia is a geopolitical enemy and without our advanced weapons and technology the Ukraine would of likely fallen within 3 months of the start of the war.
- Oddly the Ukraine war support suddenly became a liberal thing. Many leftist took down BLM flags and instead put up Ukrainian flag. I donât mind the replacement but still why did it quickly become a âsymbolâ for leftists. This annoyed conservatives.
- Volodymyr Zelensky has done an outstanding job considering he was up against. He personally has no military strategist background and is a very young and inexperienced leader. Yet his leadership was beyond excellent when his very life is at stake. There has already been multiple assassination attempts on his life. If Russia conquered Kiev and he was captured he would of been likely executed.
- BUT Zelensky made a huge mistake. He swore the war wouldnât be over until Russia is completely out of the Ukraine. This included Crimea which Russia invaded with little resistance in 2014. The Obama administration did NOTHING about it either. But there is no way Putin will quit unless he feels that he has won something. Zelensky canât renege on the promise he made his people either.
- this leads us to the Biden administration and our western allies. We have already spent an estimated $75+ billion on the war effort. Putin has also cut off oil supply impacting energy costs worldwide. So 1) whatâs in it for the US? (especially when inflation is skyrocketing) and 2) when will the war end?
Biden need to force Putin to the negotiating table. Zelensky needs to look forced to give up some to Russia to save face to his people. But what the hell is Biden doing? Whatâs his plan to end it if he even has one? This war will just continue indefinitely if the US and western allies donât force Putin and Zelensky to negotiate.
Thatâs why some people are getting sick of the war and spending more and more taxpayer money on military aid. There is just no end in sight.

I support anybody that wants peace in this world I support any politicians or presidents that do what they think needs to be done for their country to be free
And everybody should be helping them
Russia went in there just like the American politicians do because of greed and they wanted to take something they wanted to steal something from a weaker country is what they thought.
America does the same thing they're bullies in so many different ways Russia did the same thing they became the bully.
I feel bad for the Russian people because they don't want this war.
It was Russia s politicians and Putin Mr ego himself that he was going to make a good name for himself went in there to steal to Rob to rape another country's land property and people
I hate bullies I hate liars cheaters and thieves they do things just because they think they're big enough to do it and that's what it all boils down to right there.
So no matter what country you are no matter who your politicians are this war is a warning to all countries even America just because we think we're badass there's always going to be somebody smaller than us it's going to give us a good fight and kick our ass in so many ways just because we think we are badass just because we have proven that we are bullies
You don't go tell everybody like Trump does that we are bullies and that we are badass
You become badass by being quiet you become badass by walking softly and carrying a big stick
I support Ukraine just because I do not like Russia's politicians at the same time I don't like our politicians because they're nothing but old men bullies and they would rather steal something than earn it
There are several reasons that can explain this, but there is one that seems to me to outweigh the others.
Russian propaganda and social networks. Social networks can be an incredible tool, but a lot of false information circulates and is sometimes propagated by certain politicians. So news that Ukraine is Nazi, fascist, that the conflict is the fault of the evil Westerners who have moved closer to Russia's borders through NATO etc., circulate freely on social networks without any context, nuance, and all propagated by pro-Russian accounts, bots etc. .
Some people believe that this information circulating on the web is the truth, do not try to reason with them, to put nuance and context to try to show them that they are wrong, because they are persuaded to hold the truth.
So I'd say that the main cause is the false information circulating about Ukraine and NATO, which persuades some people that Russia is right, and that Russia is just a victim in this story.
Another cause could be those who believe that their nations' national interests are not at risk even if Ukraine falls into Russian hands. Although this hypothesis must concern only a few people, because the vast majority of the population doesn't think of international relations in terms of interests, but in terms of good guys and bad guys.
I sympathize with the Ukrainian people, but there is more going on here. Their government has always been very corrupt. It would shock you at how much of the foreign aid is going into the pockets of Zelenski and his inner circle. They are buying mansions and exotic sports cars and spending like millionaires. Look at recent videos of the Ukrainian capital, Kiev. It doesn't look like there is a war going on. People are partying and having a good time. Compare that to a recent video of an American city like Los Angeles or San Francisco. If you compare these cities to Kiev, and you were forced to live in one of them, you would likely prefer to live in Kiev right now. The Ukrainian goverment had illegal bio-weapon research labs that were funded by the US. I am not a fan of Russia, but those labs were on Russia's doorstep. Biological weapons are much worse that nuclear weapons. In WW2, many Ukrainians supported the Nazis. An worrisome number of Ukrainian soldiers have the Nazi eagle symbol tattooed on their necks. I wish the working class Ukrainian people well. They are good people. The corrupt government and the Nazi worshipers do not deserve any sympathy.

Do you feel sympathy for the people in Crimea and the Donbas who were attacked for years by their own government before Russia stepped in? What about the people who were burned alive in Odessa?
Russia attempted for 8 years to negotiate a peace treaty but the U. S. convinced the Ukrainian government not to negotiate.
Russia didn't want to invade Ukraine. It doesn't want to occupy or take over Ukraine. But for many reasons, it had no other choice. This isn't Russian imperialism, it's self defense and defense of ethnic Russian and Russian speaking people in Ukraine
The U. S. is using Ukrainians as cannon fodder while globalist elites gobble up Ukrainian land and resources. And at the same time, the propaganda machine cries crocodile tears over Ukrainian lives so that uninformed masses will support more spending.
I absolutely sympathize with the Ukrainian people, including the ones their own government were butchering and terrorizing. I'm glad that Russia came to their defense. I oppose those who idolize Stepan Bandera. I hope all the Nazis are eliminated. I understand why Russia can't allow Ukraine to join NATO and why Russia will never give up it naval base at Sebastopol and access to the Mediterranean.
I blame the U. S., NATO, and Ukrainian Nazis for this war. If they fuck off, the war will be over tomorrow.
I don't 'desire' the Ukraine to fail, I simply see that option is far better outcome for the Ukraine, and frankly the world than the war that is required for the Ukraine to even have the most remote chance of being successful.
Unfortunately while the Ukraine in fact do far better than expected thanks to Russian incompetents. Hundreds of thousands of people a significant share of an already dying population have been killed or injured fighting. Large areas of Ukraine has been also destroyed, many parts not likely to recover.
It is very likely the Ukraine will have to settle for losing even more territory, not that the destroyed territory is all that valuable anymore. If this were a mere fight for freedom I might be more sympathetic, but the reality is the Ukraine was fighting so that they could tell Russia they would join NATO prior to securing a defense treaty with a country actually able to beat Russia.
This war didn't need to happen at all, and indeed could still end at any time saving countless lives giving Ukraine anther opportunity to secure such a treaty.
A strategy that would have cost 0 lives and left Ukraine largely intact.I don't want Ukraine to fall but I hate it when people conflate not wanting the west to get involved as the same thing as being against Ukraine. Especially since Putin threatened to nuke those who got involved. He could just be sabrerattling but that is way too big of the threat to take lightly.
I know the US has no business in this especially since Ukraine was not a part of NATO, and still isn't last I checked. Now we are so invested that Biden wants to use illegal weapons like cluster bombs, the use of which is considered a war crime for a reason. The US had several instances of disasters that the tax money would be better spent on but Biden gave next to nothing for East Palestine and like $12M which pales in comparison with the $100B+ that has been given to a country that we are not officially allies with.
If we get nuked, at this point I would say we (and by we I mean the elites) deserve it. Like a spoiled child, the west has been sticking its nose in places where it doesn't belong and will eventually be taught a lesson.
Because we live in a world full of selfish people that only want power and greed , that only want things to go their way. Why this world is so fucked up , to me War is the dumbest thing we deal with on this planet , killing innocent people for what reason? because you didnât get your way? This world would be such a better place if their was no war what so ever and no greed , but sadly itâs been this way for many of years. And sadly something that will never end , because there is so much hate and violence and selfish people that only truly care about themselves, if us people actually all came together as one , there would be nothing but peace and happiness on this planet but nope Most people are just plain out assholes that only care about themselves that do not know how to give , just receive
Who wants ukraine to fail?
It's the contrary to what you are saying... the path we are on is destroying Ukraine for a decade if not more. How it got to this point.. there are different views on that, but in at least one view, USA is implicated. Some people don't like that.
Finding a solution to end it, draw the lines and defend them is the answer... the only solution there ever has been is political. The current group in power sees that as an offense.
By "freedom" and "peace" do you mean "US hegemony" and "US Foreign Policy"? Because I'm sure I've heard those words before and they meant exactly it: US hegemony and US Foreign Policy.
However, as far as I know, I'm neither stupid nor gullible to buy into it after all the shitwreck that was done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria. All "wars for freedom and democracy." All wars that cost us much and gives us nothing.
The US needs to learn to coexist with its so-called "rivals." It'd be a better call for everyone on this planet. The US and Russia should sign whatever peace deal possible, make mutual concessions and stop this war. Everything else will only claim more lives.
Don't forget that the Putin regime employs countless troll factories with people waging the war day and night against Ukraine and the Western countries in the information space. I would bet, many of these trolls don't even believe in the bullshit FUD they are running, it's a simple propaganda job for them.
Also in the politically heavily divided United States a number of MAGA maggots will speak out against supporting Ukraine simply because Joe Biden has pledged his support.
Nobody wants Ukraine to fall, except Putin. Donât believe the leftistâs propaganda. Biden has sent over 75 billion to Ukraine, and about 8 million to Hawaii. Biden absolutely refuses to show the Americans a detailed account of where the money is going. Why would he not want us to know? Whatâs he hiding? Is it true that Ukrainian oligarchs have been pilfering the money and going on lascivious vacations and even building swimming pools in their backyards?
This is going to be another 20 year war, and the military industrial complex loves it.You're missing a lot of context here. First of all, people don't want to see Ukraine (or, more likely, western Ukraine) conquered by Russia and a Russian puppet in charge in Kiev. But what a lot of Europeans don't want to admit is that people in the US are tired of protecting them when most of them can't be bothered to contribute to their own defense. To be told by them that we have to continue to send unlimited sums of money to a very corrupt Ukrainian government, especially given the involvement US President and his son in the corruption there, is beyond pathetic.
Europeans who think that Ukraine should be sent tons of money more can go fuck themselves. Let them take money from their own social welfare to pay for it rather than expecting the US to take it from the social welfare of the American people. There is no US national interest in Ukraine and we have better things to do with our tax and borrowed money than to send it to that corrupt hellhole.
I'm just tired of hearing about it. The U. S. has been doing the worst shit all across the world for 120 years and Europe just pretends like it never happened because money and security and shit. But this happens and suddenly everyone is so outraged and is for peace. 400 000 people died in the war in Yemen and I never saw any outrage about that. It's just business as usual. Why should I be upset about this war now just because the West doesn't like Putin but loves to ride U. S. dick? I'm not in the mood to be brainwashed by this embarassment we call "the news". I'll just focus on my own life. I still hope Ukraine can defend itself don't get me wrong. I just don't like all this hypocrisy and outrage like it's the first time a country invaded another country. It's so fake and nauseating. All the best to your friend :)
As a Ukrainian, here is my opinion on this:
- Russian propaganda is currently best weapon they have. They invested a lot in it and they occupy huge audience all over the world.
- Many people do not know the origin of this war and do not know history. To them Russia and Ukraine is the same thing because of the past (USSR) which is actually not and never was.
- Many countries such as Iran, North Korea, China, some African countries are sympathetic to Russia because of the common enemy - western civilization. These countries directly and indirectly support aggression towards Ukraine.
- A lot of people are victims of propaganda because they do not have access to alternative information resources and therefore become useful idiots supporting Russia.
- Many politicians of the EU are corrupt and sponsored by Russian government, therefore they push russian narrative.
Ukranian war is a complete setup by america and Europe to weaken russia's economically but that failed. russia has the support of so many countries. Now the americans are trying to cause a problem to china. america is spending money on the war but they don't spend on their country to be developed. Now countries of africa which suffered the threats of america and Europe are trying to escape the threat by getting the help of russians, iranians and china. before the americans had using dollar as weapon to control others and that is why so many countries formed a bric currency to weaken this dollar attack. european heads are fools for listening to america and falling into trouble by supplying arms to ukraine for war. if america don't have weapns to be supplied for the ukranian war, the americans troops will forced to leave away from ukranian like they ran away from afghanistan war which was going on for 20 years.
They don't want Ukraine to fall, they want Zelensky to fall. People are sick of his lies, corruption and manipulation. But at the same time, why should the Russian regions be part of Ukraine when Russians live there? I'm not super fond of either of them to be honest, but I respect Putin a lot more then Zelensky, and I think punishment athletes and regular people for the actions of their government is taking things too far. I'm just sick of the hypocrisy and unfair treatment. Why didn't FIFA ban Azerbaijan for invading Nagorno Karabakh during COVID?
People are so ignorant to Ukraine's history and Zelensky's policies and are only supporting Ukraine because the media told then, "Putin Bad". Zelensky literally wants WWIII.There are basically two types of people in the world; those who care only about themselves and how things affect them, and those who care about how other people and how their situation might affect both themselves and others.
Simple analogy is that the less a Putin led Russia controls in the world scheme, the better off EVERYONE is, not just the people living in that country, but the world as a whole. If you don't understand that, you shouldn't be commenting on how the US spends money propping up Ukraine.
I don't support my country going broke over a country who should have agreed to remain neutral in the region and not try to join NATO after being denied so many times for corruption but now we're using them as a proxy war because we don't like Russia lol and in the process we're going flat broke. That's just ridiculous after all the billions we have given them in 1 year and a half now
You want to know why? Because if we have a regime in power whose objective is to sabotage and ultimately destroy the nation, then anyone who's against them is, by extension, aligned with us. That, and the unending drain of resources that keeps being sent there.
Putin is too nice. Russia should have moved in with overwhelming force and ended that war on their terms. Russia should have done that a half dozen years earlier when Ukraine was murdering tens of thousands of Ukrainians in the Russian-speaking areas.
I just don't care. The only reason this even became an issue is because NATO and Ukraine were cozying up to each other and I'm not interested at all in paying attention to any of the pro-Ukraine or pro-Russia propaganda. The outcome of the war won't matter one tiny bit.
It's not my own ''struggle''. So why could I be interested in Ukraine specifically?
In general I wish all individual persons a peaceful and fulfilling life - as long as they individually deserve it.
Ideologies, ''Patriotism'', or ''politics'' don't touch me.
Good luck - individually - to all sides involved.
And: Fuck politics.
Agreed, but throwing money at Ukraine is just prolonging the conflict. World leadership is too cowardly to take action
