Besides no phone and no iPod and slow internet what is one thing that make us (80’s and 90’s ) stronger than them.

We had to learn how to have thicker skin.


Back then, less people cared if you felt offended.


You just needed to learn not to take things personally, shrug things off, and move on.


Nowadays you see a lot of people being very sensitive to people’s words and criticism.


People where allowed to make jokes without worrying about who it would offend.


I think intention is everything. But today it’s common for people to find something offensive out of things that were never meant to be offensive.

The stuff is still around people don’t say but than others do I have been security for 15 years I seen and heard it all.

We learnt to drive in cars that didn't have reversing cameras.

Most of this seems like the same coping every generation has. I am a 90s kid myself so I am not attacking anyone here. Just saying that nonsense like thicker skin, smarter politically, business etc is all nonsense.

I grew up knowing that I could take and deliver a punch and we'd both be fine. People don't grow up with that now, sure. They grow up knowing they can throw a punch, take one. And then have to wonder if they or their family will end up stabbed and assaulted. I could be tough because I didn't have to worry if this will get my sister raped. Life has, in almost every way, gotten harder. And people have, in almost every way, grown more capable. It is after all the task of every parent to make their children better than they were.

Now that I got the venting and downvote stuff out of my system there are advantages to our generations. Chief among them: We grew up in the inbetween of modern digitialised worlds and the mere modern world of our parents. As such we become the generations with the greatest experience and adaptability to this changing world. Compromising no expertise in the truly modern while remaining a bridge to the previous generations. We are the natural born middlemen and mediators because, simply put, we lived it. Possessing the ability if the younger generation while still able to connect with the older that holds most the assets and influence. No other generations have, during their growing up, been witness to as many monumental technological changes - probably ever.

I meant like dial up I know there aol but not everyone had it and now most people have on their phone.
