Trending & News Two things: That their opinions matter so much. Their likes, or Instagram posts, or loud comments at work or elsewhere. I’ve seen people at work or in various settings engage in such heated debate over everything from Tranny rights, to wars, to immigration, to who is President and in the end they don’t seem to compute they didn’t impact a single thing except damage a relationship at work (or wherever) and Trump, or Biden are STILL President. Illegals are STILL coming into the country. Bombs are STILL falling; and your angry rants accomplish nothing.
Second: To disagree with you, voting matters tremendously. While on national elections my vote (particularly in California) is nearly irrelevant and there’s not much we can do about our fool Governor, it does carry the day in local elections. My school board was purged of its DEI idiocy and a policy of concealing a child’s “gender identity” from parents by local vote. Our Sheriff is responsive to voters and serves the people not the politicians in our County on a variety of issues. Our mayor has been fiscally responsible and held the line against some movements to defund our policing and/or developments in the City the residents were widely opposed to. My vote matters locally.
Probably that social media is not real.
I'm one of the last generations that was pre-internet. I lived in a time when you couldn't aspire to being a social influencer and gaining millions of viewers. Social media is entertainment. We are at a time of prosperity (so to speak. Yes I understand there's great income inequality but you don't see mass famines in America).
I think too many young people wrap thier entire life around social media. Because we as society are slowly losing our humanity. Too many are over medicated and underloved and it shows with ever knew shooting you see pop up on the t. v. screen.
Too many young people today wants love but believe it or not love is best achieved by giving love. Stop thinking inwardly and start thinking outwardly. Help other people. Pay it forward and you'll be amazed how the world changes.
That's my 2 cents anyhow.
People often think that if they don't vote nothing will happen or they will automatically show their general disapproval, but IT is not do. You just give other people a chance to choose someone for you, often someone WHO you don't really appreciate.
17 states are required to follow popular vote completely. Other states can split the electoral vote to match there states popular vote.
@katiesmuff that sounds a bit complicated. If I understood correctly if a required number of people do not vote then IT is just assumed that they decide like the majority?
No all votes made are counted with each candidate receiving their percentage of the votes which would be the way the electoral college would have to present them. Assume in Illinois 10000000 people vote and it's 53% for Joe Blow and 47% for Fred Earthworm! Electoral college would present it as 53 electoral votes for Joe and 47 votes for Fred as it is the electoral votes that actually elect the President
Do you get to vote since you’re a sissy, do they let Sissies vote?
@Billlewis sissy boy doesn’t have a girlfriend either

Texting is not an effective method for establishing and maintaining a romantic relationship.
When you are in high school and college, you seem acutely aware of the smallest differences in age such as junior and senior or freshman and sophomore. Once you start working with a diverse group of people, you see the world differently. I have been really happy to have had girlfriends of all different ages from 10 years younger to 30 years older. It isn't the age, it is the person.
I think the main thing is seeing things as simpler than they are and being too idealistic and just thinking in black and white. For instance Israel Palestine conflict it's a huge clusterfuck and so many parties involved who put their own interests above peace. But if you listen to a young person they think they can solve it by tomorrow. I also thought like this when I was younger so I'm not trying to put them down but this is a big issue.
You can't always get what you want.
But if you try sometime you'll find you get what you need
I like the Rolling Stones.
@Sharkstealth Thanks for the reference
That voting accomplishes largely nothing is what the crowd above 30 refuses to learn.
What it's like not to be surveilled and to have everything about them compiled on electronic records.
What it's like to go to an airport, buy a ticket, and get on a plane without going through TSA.
Newspapers.
More generally, the importance of non-consolidated media control- and consequently, the complexity of reality. They've been raised, even more than my generation was, on sound bites and black-and-white thinking.
Also, versions of Dungeons and Dragons that are mechanically deep enough to actually be interesting. Good gravy, 5E sucks.
How to appreciate people and otherwise invest in relationships longer term. People my age are clueless about how to treat people.
Imagine the short-sightedness of someone who throws away a long time friendship over $550, or because you don't think the guy/girl they started dating is a healthy fit for them.
interesting...
That we will all die regardless of what we accomplish and you can’t take it with you
Life without a cell phone surgically attached to their hand.
That we will always live on Earth.
So being a bitch only makes life harder for you, not others. You still have to die like everyone else at the end.
Every vote counts? If you mean age differences on how we look at things it is pretty much the same after 30 to 70s , we still look at young women in our old ages the same as we did back then but our bodies keep changing
That everyone over thirty regards younger adults as being children.
That's not true, or at least, to the extent that it is true, it's much less so than in the past. I've long maintained that one of the principal reasons why the country is so effed up today is because the generation that before ours treated us like absolute dog shit, thus creating this multi decade wave of hard left regressivism in response. My generation, in its youth had less power and access to information than any generation since, while youth today is more powerful than ever, yet, they keep falling for the media's depiction of them as being oppressed.
That spelling and grammar aren't for special occasions (though it is still okay to start with a preposition).
That 30 is not old.. 😂.. Especially if they are less than 10 years from it..
As an individual, voting accomplishes nothing, yet 1k+ people believing that means that it does if they are a voting the same way.
That Hitler and Kanye West are right about EVERYTHING
The importance of long form content.
I don't think they understand anything except twerking.
