Will my father get out of jail, what do you think?

Hey guys, 2 months ago, my sister and I ran away from home and the reason we ran away was my father. because he was using physical and psychological violence against us. 3 days after we escaped, the police found us and asked why we were escaped. We said why we escaped and complained about my father. The cops caught my father and the first court said he would be sentenced to 7-10 years in prison. The second court will be 1 month after the incident, that is, 2 days later, and we have withdrawn our complaint. it just needed that. Now I’m wondering, will my father be caught again even though we have withdrawn our complaint? Will the lawsuit turn into a civil lawsuit?

Oh my goodness. Sorry but since you withdrew the complaint you shouldn't be allowed to sue for anything. Sorry but you basically wasted everyone's time and resources.

I understand what he did, but you realise if he is capable of doing that to you and your sister, how are you going to feel if he becomes worse and commits murder and both you and your sister contributed to allowing it to happen because you decided to let him get out of jail and get away with what he done. Who gives a f about what your mom wants, your an adult according to your age here.

If you withdraw your complaint they have less evidence. Do they have enough remaining evidence to still prosecute? Maybe, I don't know. I know it'll be a lot harder to put him in jail without the victim assisting unless there's witnesses to giant bruises all over you or something and him screaming in the front yard that he's going to whoop your azz.

It's hard to say what the law will decide now, sounds to me like the time is sticking, after all the law cares more about their check, now he needs a lawyer to fight the case, after all I think cops get bonuses for their catches brush with the law normally escalates, it's what I've learned, it's just all sticky stuff

In the US even if you withdraw your complaint many states will still prosecute. They don't need your permission or even your cooperation.

If he's been convicted of a crime by the courts and sentenced, he will be going to jail. That's the way the law works in the United States anyway.
