The Language one speaks or one's Race/Ethnicity... which is a better determinant of identity?

i recently read a nonfiction by asimov, he claimed language is not identity, because people can learn another language but i disagree, language can unite and multilingual attaches to several identities

Neither, because both dont prove anything. I can learn any language I want and race/ethnicity is literally a made up concept

Ethnicity as in the culture you're raised within - not your race. Language CAN be an indicator of where you're from but not necessarily, some people speak multiple.

The language. Usually says where you grew up. If you grow up in France you'll be mostly French in culture, values etc. Having Taiwanese grandparents will have less impact but of course not zero impact.
