To what extent do you identify with your race or ethnicity?

I do not identify with my race or ethnicity.

This is most likely because of where I grew up and my overall upbringing and life up until this point.

I’m not saying I’ve never felt marginalized or bullied, but to the extent that I have felt marginalized or experienced bulling it was rarely because of my ethnicity or race to my estimation or knowledge.

My successes and failures in life have been through a mixture of a small amount of luck I’m sure and a large amount of effort.

NOT my race or ethnicity.

My parents didn’t stress that we were Filipino within our household.

We were just humans that loved each other and trying to live amongst everyone else in a peaceful manner, pursuing our goals and dreams in the process.

My parents didn’t say “This is what Filipinos or Americans believe so you must follow it.”

No, it was more like “This is what is RIGHT because it is RIGHT, so that’s why you must follow it.”

Lying is bad
Cheating is bad
Hurting people unjustly is bad
Etc….

All because it is bad, not because it’s what it means to be Filipino, American, etc.

Most of my friends and the environment I’ve lived in and currently live in have been diverse in all manners of life, but we all seemed to have CORE commonalities were it was possible for us to cooperate together, live together, hangout together, school together, etc.
