If Conservative Christians don't believe in climate change, why do they want their kids to live and sweat in dead heat?

I have a mother and a stepfather who genuinely believe 87 degrees (Fahrenheit) inside the house is "not hot" at all. I turned on the AC for a brief second until they both came home and one of them turned it off. It was 89 degrees, now it's 87. I just got off from work, I like having my window and curtains closed so that I can have my own privacy and lustful freedom. They just want me to have the fan on (which I always do) and the curtains all the way open as the only ways to get fresh air.

Their main excuse is that they don't like having the annoying cooler in the backyard disturbing them, but the real reason is that they're afraid of a higher bill charge, and that reason was given to me regarding usage of the fan during "non-hot weeks" (meaning below 80 degrees).
