Well, I live in a country with average wage 1100 $ but we are not beggars. Just our politicians suck and bureaucrats suck at their job.

We are producing our own food and electricity, and we are still optimistic about the future. One day we are going to be laughing about it.

It's hard as we can't travel abroad due to restrictions, and exchange rate disadvantage other than that corruption is a major issue like the most important issue.

Beats living in France with hopeless and loneliness on the rise. Heard of a survey that European youth seems to be 40% goal less. And yeah we don't have genders except male female and third one. And life is simple.

We are not living in stone age though like portrayed in the movies or media 🤣 and we treat our women with more dignity 😅.

Interesting where are you from? Plus it is healthier to cultivate your own food. I heard that poorer countries have awesome fitness centers. Meaning they make their own equipment.

🤣 it would be healthier if not for the pesticides. I live in Pakistan. My city Lahore is becoming quite polluted especially in November for some reason. And we have used solar energy extensively and still deploying it rapidly but to no avail.

Right now we are sowing potatoes in my farm). And you are right we do have fitness centers but do you really want to waste money on fitness if you can just go work on manual jobs 🤣🤣🤣.

And yeah the best equipment is just buy 5 3 kg bricks for a dollar and start lighting them up 🤣🤣🤣.

I can assure you, progress is happening. Some European can probably get married and having conversion advantage can buy lot of land and build a home 5 times the size of what he has back home. If it was the other way round I would have settled in Romania with my savings 🤣.

(Oh if you see gypsy's they are children of ancestors of subcontinent. Still have some similar traditions too. Go visit a gypsy house and you will get a fairly good idea. Modern immigrants are less concerned with culture back home but surprisingly Gypsy's look a lot like us and have same ways like arranged marriages, children living with parents in young age and Virgin till Marriage and dowry.
What interests you about Poor countries?

We are only poor because of the shabby politicians. In fact last month, I visited a PVC factory and I was amazed that they were fully automatic 🤣. I had not seen anything as modern in Pakistan. It was on European standards. Same for ceramics tiles. So, may be in coming years we do break the 2000usd barrier perhaps reaching level of Holland in GDP.

I was just curious, because I live in a first world
country and it just “work work work” I am grateful to have a job but my life is just centered on my job

🤣 corporate slavery is everywhere. But you can get rid of it by yourself. You know you should go live in a farm instead of trying to make things work in the cities. What you are experiencing is City doldrums 😅.
Are you married? If not then go travel the world and marry someone that pleases you. In your "high paying" job you are probably working like a robot.
I actually worked only for 4-6 months in a job and then started doing my own work managing the family estate. So, I have to get to go visit the field work, like some days I visit the suppliers factory, go to metal market and see all the people work 🤭. I admit I like the sound of metal splashing against each other. Oh, it's really the best feeling.

Working in office I feel quite suffocated 🤣. I rather go tinker the machines.
And good thing is I am not an engineer but I have worked in Agriculture machinery, tubewells, fuel dispensers, plumbing, electricity, motors and solar panels even. Installing them on my own land.

Guess what at the farm we have the most tubewells with stainless steel pipes. No one uses stainless steel pipes for agriculture where I live🤭. And most importantly we have loyal tenants.
It does have it's downsides of course. It's not all fun and enjoyment 😅. Beats living in the same office box

I lived a month in a poor country and its pretty sweet if you have money but life sucks if you're poor in a poor country. I could pay for whatever I wanted and still stay well within what I could afford. Even bribes were affordable

@bourbonandbacon bribes are definitely a problem. My father stayed in custody without trial for 3 years because we didn't give bribe to the police or the magistrate. And we are proud that we didn't. He was proven innocent and time wasted. In fact tomorrow is the anniversary 11 Oct of the case.
But that's just half of the coin. Aside from bribes people usually have a foreigner bias meaning if you are a foreigner no one touches you in my country except if you had actually murdered someone. Other than that approvals, etc people let you do whatever you want. You just need a good person to guide you through the system

There are some benefits to not having access to things like the internet and fast food. Internet is very bad for mental health

According to UN definition, poor countries are with per Capita income less than 1500 USD like Africa and Pakistan.

There is no poor countries if you don't destroy their culture. They just get their habit.

Poor as in people can't travel, visa restrictions, and such and it matters.
Why do you think 75% of my classmates have gone and then they flaunt about how they are more valuable than the ones still surviving?
