What are the best and worst states for mental health?

The higher the score the better overall mental health is, the lower the score the worse. West Virginia was the very worst, followed by Alabama and Arkansas. Overall, Red states were much worse than Blue states. A dicussion of the study and selection criteria is here:

Well, the State of Pennsylvania, where I'm from is only 60-69 rating, while West Virginia is horrible. I'm a client who has been under mental health treatment since age 21, has seen the worst mental health care, I only see the psychiatrist, like every 6–8 weeks for 15 minutes to see how my medication is working and that is it. I haven't had a mental health evaluation in years, so see, the mental health system sucks.

See a Psychologist in addition to the Psychiatrist.

Have you ever written a mytake on what traumas you experienced growing up? When I hear the above, I think... there are emotional wounds not resolved. That's where the freedom and healing is... and path to new life.

Pennsylvania is a beautiful place, I know some people from there, happy and living life to the fullest.. although they are in another state now. It's a huge state, which is why this study makes no sense to me to coagulate all that diversity to one color makes little sense.

If you'd like to read a book that may help you along your path, lmk. It covers the underlying causes and gives an approach. There's lots out there to help you on your journey.

Is there a correlation with "right to work" (anti union) states? Ones that didn't accept ACA money? Low take-up of covid vaccines? Firearm ownership (most firearm deaths are suicides)?

I'm not buying that chart, doesn't align with my experiences. As well, the issue is very local... social economic in nature. Where there are family units, community, environmental health... sense of being... there is mental health.

I read through. not sure, hard to judge a state... and I've been to a few of these. I think my answer is more right.
Connecticut is surprisingly good... dense trees everywhere. Maybe more oxygen? I wouldn't credit it necessarily to politics. Nebraska... all that corn must be good for them? New Hampshire looked good as well. MA is tops... haha, not from brief glimpses I saw and people that moved away from Boston? I think a state is too abstract to have it make sense.
WV that bad everywhere... I shop there and visit, no problems where I go. I'd wonder why... a lot of $ was pumped in...

If anything, it says the hotter it gets, the worse your mental health. Lets see that chart for South America...

Your personal experiences and opinions are fine and well, but are not representative of the entire population since you are not an expert in mental health and you have not met enough people or had enough time in any of these locations to really formulate a valid opinion.

How was this determined? You'd think the southern states would be higher because the weather is much warmer and sunnier so it reduces seasonal depression.

Worst probably california or Newyork. Basically places where ordinary people can't afford to live or crime cities like detroit, Chicago, L. A, San Francisco. California is the best place to live provided you have f*ck off money.

Funny because some of those states colored light red have thousands of people every year fleeing to other states like arizona, texas, new Mexico. Only people happy in california are those liberals with obscene amounts of money not those living in small californian towns who got their water stolen by a californian corporation

I think that ot is mostly Democrat run states that have most of the crazies. Look at New York,, California, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania and tell me that the people there are playing with a full deck.
