When it came to conflicts in the Middle East I kept my mouth shut and hesitated to give my opinion for a very long time. I haven’t been out there. I don’t have any family out there. I know it’s extremely complicated and I long preferred to never take a side. I do have a few Muslim friends but I never had any interpersonal issues with any of them. We usually got along just fine. In fact I really liked and respected the Muslims I got to know.
But the Hamas Israel conflict does matter very deeply to the west and for good reason.
First reason it could escalate into an all out world war. If Hezbollah decides to fully engage Israel then Iran could get directly involved. If that happens then the USA will have to get directly involved. That could get extremely ugly quick. These are world super powers fighting in a shooting war (no longer a proxy war).
The second reason is anti-semitism and Jew hatred. Hamas not only hates Israeli Jews but hates Jews worldwide. Anti-semitism has been a problem for thousands of years. The WW2 Holocaust was the climax of where that can lead. People would like to believe something that heinous could never happen again but with this unique hate anything is possible.
I do not believe Israel is beyond reproach with the Gaza conflict. There is never a 100% good vs. 100% evil in any military conflict. Even the allied forces in WW2 killed tens potentially hundreds of thousands of innocent civilian. Look up the Dresden fire bombings. It’s rarely discussed in history classes.
But I see so many westerners taking a quick side in the Hamas Israel conflict. Obviously I am completely disgusted with anybody who sides with or even excuses Hamas. But I do not think Israel is justified to decimate Gaza. No. But they are in an extremely difficult position where they need to root out Hamas once and for all at the same time minimize collateral damage that Hamas intentionally wants. To make matters worse no Islamic countries are willing to take in Gazan refugees.

I get your point but there's nothing that we can do. I only discussed this with my mother, sister and 2 friends. But I've heard that some people get really angry over this topic.
I'm not Westerner, so maybe some people won't take my opinion seriously.
I'm worried about innocent people who are suffering (Israelis and Palestinians), that's what I think it matters the most.
"Obviously I am completely disgusted with anybody who sides with or even excuses Hamas. But I do not think Israel is justified to decimate Gaza." - That's exactly what I think.
I just hope this war doesn't get even more serious, nobody is ready for that.
What you want? I mean you do know that there is absolutely nothing you can do right then why bother
