Why do so many English-speaking Protestants support the state of Israel?

I'm genuinely puzzled by this. I just don't understand it. Don't they realise that many, if not most, Jewish people despise Christianity? Apart from the books of the Old Testament, the two religions have practically nothing in common, so... why?

And before anyone asks, no, I don't - do NOT - support Hamas! All I am doing here is asking a simple and, I would have thought obvious, question. For example, various U. S. governments have over the years sent "aid" worth billions of dollars to Israel, with no questions asked and no conditions attached. They've never done this with any other nation, apart from Ukraine (and we know why they've aided Ukraine).

There may be some merrit to what you say, considering Netenyahu supplied drones to the Azeris to use against Aremenians. But that was Netanyahu. Even if what you're saying is true, at least Jews aren't going around chopping Christians' heads off or blowing them up. It's probably more of a scenario of, "My enemy's enemy is my friend." Muslims will always support other Muslims against someone else, even in the most extreme situation. Muslims even managed to turn Buddhists in Myanmar violent, and Buddhism is the TRUE religion of peace, which should be saying everything you need to know. I still think Protestant views align more closely with Jewish views, then they do with Muslim views. It's more rational to everyone else to not support Muslims, but White people aren't rational. Even most Polish support Muslims and Palestine. The government doesn't, but the people do.

Although the last part you say is true, the U. S. does the same with Muslim countries. Our politicians are always preaching how we're a Christian nation with Christian principles, yet in recent history, the U. S. has almost always sided with Muslims. We allied with Bosnia instead of Serbia. We recognized Kosovo as a soveirgn state. We helped AFGHANS when Russia invaded their ass. Our politicians were talking everyday about arming the Kurds. We supplied arms to Islamist extremists to use against Assad, who supported secularism. Even Trump sold arms to Saudi Arabia, where all but 3 of the 9/11 terrorists came from.

The only time we've supported Christians is when two Christian countries were at war (mainly with Russia). And the only other example is Israel, for some reason. I guarantee you, if Ukraine was committing war crimes against Muslims, our government would not be supporting them, and would have boots on the ground over there in a heartbeat. The U. S. has a track record of siding with the wrong people. They are extremely two faced and only care about their own pockets. And the US never bothered to ask the average locals if they want us to "liberate" them.

I wouldn't support anyone who kills innocent people and babies intentionally...
We all do know that the majority of nations doesn't put humanity on their 1st priority list, it's all about benefits, power and materialism... etc

Israel is committing a lot of war crimes, this shows the brutality in their blood, i have never seen such terrorism in a war...

I'm against of what hamas did to innocent israeli citizens but what israel is doing now is TOO MUCH!

You want to fight hamas and destroy them, OKAY! But explain to me why are aiming your missiles on children and innocent people intentionly? Always making excuses for your crimes, STILL a lot of countries aren't working enough to end this war!

In my country, 3 innocent young girls who were with their mother and grandma in a car driving on the road in a region which is on the border of israel got bombed with a direct missile from an israeli drone, why? What did they do? Where did you see the danger in these kids and 2 women? Later the israeli army said that they will check about what happened... check about what? The kids are dead, still they want you to see them as innocent victims...

Anyone who's operating these war drones, how can they exterminate innocent lives knowing that these aren't enemies and aren't causing any danger on them, yet they decide to excute them!

That's what ISIS had done and others terrorists groups had done, what makes them different?

People just hate Israel. They don't care about Palestinians. If people cared Egypt would accept those from Gaza and Jordan would let those from the west bank come in. No one ever helps them or accepts them.

Since Hamas is an evil terrorist regime I'll pick the peaceful democracy to support.

"Never again" the chant after WWII, would have thought in just 70-75 years you'd have endless protests and people calling for the end of the Jews again.

I grew up and went to high school with a lot of jewish kids. I have no problem with them. Israel has been our ally for as long as I can remember. They are the only democracy in the region. Besides they are surrounded by enemies and i always back the underdog.

Most Jews (and I know because I am Jewish) do NOT despise Christians. A lot of Christians also realize that the Islamists don't just see Jews as enemies- they also see Christians as enemies to be annihilated.

US aid to Israel is actually a subsidy to the US defense industry since 100% of it must be spent on US-made defense systems. The US and Israel also jointly do a lot of military R&D.

the aid you are talking about is not aid and we know exactly what it is for and what it is spent on. we send around 3b a year to Israel so they can develop their military. Israel is the only country in the middle east that tolerates all religions. Israel is the only country in the middle east that tolerates gay people, lesbian, trans etc. Israel is the only country in the middle east that rules via diplomacy and elected officials. to name but a few things.

Because once Israel is wiped out they will want Poland, Germany, France, etc. If you think this ends with Israel look at what has happened in Northern Africa the past couple decades. Deaths numbers that make this Israel/Palestine war look like child's play.
